Mute Mate: The Alpha's Obsession-Chapter 206: A Letter and a Loving Heart
"A letter and a dress just arrived, honey," a beautiful lady with long blonde hair and brown eyes spoke as she scanned the letter with her eyes. She guessed it was from the royals with how delicate it looked.
"What is it, my sweet pie?" a man asked softly as his tall frame came into view. He had been fixing the window to their room when he heard his wife’s voice. His red hair rested disheveled over his face, yet that did not hide the handsomeness of this man. His golden eyes rested on the letter; his sleeves were rolled up as he worked, showcasing his muscles and perfect arms.
"I’m guessing it is a letter from the palace, but why would they send us a letter, my sweet pie?" he asked as she huffed softly, resting her face on his chest.
"Oh, my pie, I’m all sweaty. I would—" his voice trailed off as she spoke softly.
"Shh, honey, I don’t mind that at all. I don’t know why the wealthy people would want us commoners at their gathering. Is it to mock us? And even though the king and queen’s intentions are pure, I can’t help but feel I’d be left out. I already do here, with the ladies in this village. I cannot imagine how I would feel among people from the high class," she explained as she looked at her husband with slightly sad eyes.
Her husband moved and softly kissed her eyes, making her lips widen in a smile.
"Anytime I see those pretty eyes of yours sad, I will kiss them until the light returns," he spoke with a wide smile as she laughed softly at his words.
"Oh, please, Mr. Andrew, you flatter me a lot," she said, moving her hands to her chest in a royal way, raising her chin as she acted like a noble. Andrew laughed at her words, then took her hands to his lips and spoke softly. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Lady Persephone, it’s only right I spoil you—the most beautiful woman in Eltones," he said as she smiled and shook her head.
"Oh, that’s not true, honey. There are many other ladies in Eltones more beautiful than me," she spoke softly as her husband shook his head.
"Now, I would have to say that is a lie. Your beauty exceeds all royals—even without fancy clothes, you stand out. Your hair, which turns to gold when the moon is out, your beautiful eyes that remind me of the sunrise and sunset molding together," he said as he moved her hair behind her ears so he could see his beautiful wife properly.
Persephone’s lips curled upwards shyly as her hands held her husband’s arm, rubbing gently over his large muscles.
Her heart felt full of joy. She didn’t know how, but her husband just had a way of making her smile...his words, his compliments, everything he said made her heart skip.
"I love you so much," she whispered as Andrew moved and kissed her lovingly on her forehead.
"I love you more and more, and more," he said as she laughed softly at his words.
"Once we have little ones, I would make their hair, and we would play," she said as her husband nodded.
"Very true. So we have to work hard and make babies," he said as her face burned red, and he chuckled.
"Oh, you bad man," she said, pretending to glare at him, though her glare was far from serious.
"Yes, I am. If that’s what you say to show your love for me, then I am a bad man," he whispered, and she smiled widely.
"Now go on and continue your work, my handsome and strong husband," she said, his face lighting up with pride at her compliment.
"As you wish, my dearest queen," he replied as she smiled and curtsied playfully.
They both lived in a small cottage, happily. Her husband worked as a carpenter while she was a farmer—she planted fruits and herbs, and people bought from her. They supported each other and lived happily.
Every day was always filled with laughter and joy, and if by any chance they fought, Andrew would always make her laugh—either by tickling her, making funny jokes, or dancing goofily. He just had his ways. Sometimes, she would imitate him when he looked angry, and they would both burst into laughter.
That was how it was.
Persephone moved the letter gently atop the table. She would have to go to the ball gathering she had been invited to—it would be rude if she decided not to go.
She didn’t need to make friends; she had her husband. He was the best man and husband in the world.
She moved to prepare something they would have for lunch, deciding to make something special for her husband since she knew he was working really hard.
She began preparing it, but just as she was about to finish, she felt an arm wrap around her waist. Her heart began to race fast—she knew those arms belonged to her husband. He pressed his face to her neck, taking in her soft, feminine, sweet scent.
"Ah~ Andrew, I’m cooking," she spoke softly as he laughed lightly at her words. They had been married for four months now, and these months had been her best ever.
"It doesn’t matter, honey," Persephone smiled at her husband’s teasing words.
She turned off the stove; she was done, only left to dish the food.
She moved her hands to gently caress his arms, her back pressed against his chest. She smiled softly as her heart raced.
"Let’s eat, honey. You’ve worked so hard today, and it’s only right you eat a proper meal," she said as her husband hummed in response. His hands began to move on her body, and Persephone’s lips parted. She moved her hands to cover them to keep herself from making any sound.
"An... Andrew, we are not in bed, and it is still broad daylight," she spoke softly as her face burned. Not to mention—they were in the kitchen. Andrew’s lips curved into a smile; he knew just how innocent this wife of his was, and that she didn’t know a lot.
"But we can do it anywhere, anytime."
Immediately those words left his lips, he felt her body freeze. Then, he added—
"Today, we are going to do it on the dining table, my love."
