New Body I

'No... no no no NO!'

Luma's Aura exploded as she lost control of her emotions.

She swept her perception as far as possible. Everything that could be detected was detected, yet there wasn't a single trace of the portal.

The other Sovereigns followed suit soon after, but the result was the same. The portal, along with the hidden realm, was gone.

"DAMMIT!" Luma screamed, an action that caused the space around her to splinter as her rage started to reach concerning levels.

This couldn't be happening. After such a long time of intense planning. Calculating and accounting for every possibility, their plan couldn't fail, not like this.

It would have been different if the portal had simply closed. In that case, she could have made peace with the fact that Vazar failed and try again. But for the entire Hidden Realm to just vanish. They couldn't ascertain any results whatsoever.

Then there was Vazar as well. He was a prodigy born with a Physique that was too suited for corruption. She couldn't lose him, not like this. But she had.

All the planning and resources had been for naught. They had failed.

Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.

And that enraged her.

"LUMA!" A voice broke through her haze of rage, and her head snapped towards the other Sovereigns. Both of them were using their Auras to prevent hers from spreading out too far, lest it affect the lesser clans.

"Losing your mind like this won't do us any good.

We need to keep calm and figure out the issue." Jeremy spoke firmly, but the look in his eyes suggested that he was as emotional as Luma.

"Indeed. We must get to the bottom of this." Qas spoke. Well, his voice was simply transmitted into space. Black holes don't have mouths.

He seemed to be the calmest by far. Whether that was due to the fact that he had no facial expression to speak of or if he was truly calm, remained to be seen.

Luma gritted her teeth.

"Don't tell me what to do! You cannot fathom what I've lost!" She hissed and the Sovereigns looked at her with disapproval.

"Don't for a second think that you're the only one that lost something to this event. Stop acting like a brat and think. Do you believe throwing a tantrum is going to change anything?" Jeremy said with an icy tone.

"You...!" Luma's Aura started to surge again, but before the situation could devolve further, Qas spoke.

"Before the two of you start trying to kill each other, I'd like to inform you that my connection with my daughter is still present. It's incredibly vague and I can no longer track her with it, but she is still alive." His voice cut through the thick tension and the two Sovereigns looked at him with surprise and possibly hope.

A running theme with the Starwalkers was their ability to have intricate connections with their progeny. The strength of the connection depended on the strength of the parent and the distance between the parent and the child.

The farther they were from each other, the weaker the connection would be until they could only sense the general direction of one another.

However, the bond didn't just work as a compass. It also allowed them to feel the emotions of each other as well as the conditions of their bodies.

However, due to the barrier that stopped Sovereigns from entering the hidden realm, Qasjust knew the direction Constella was in. Something that now changed once more.

He knew she was alive, and that was it.

For most, this would be worrying, and it applied here as well. However, it served to act as a bit of hope for the others.

In the same way, the Scions acknowledged that they were virtually equal and difficult to kill, their parents also knew this fact.

The three of them should have reached the center based on the amount of time spent in the hidden realm, so the chances of them encountering each other were fairly high.

This meant that there was a chance that they were still alive after whatever happened, just like Constella.

It was a vain hope, but hope nonetheless.

"Still, even if they are all alive, how can we find them? You just said that you can't even trace the direction she's in anymore. They could be anywhere." Jeremy pointed out and Qas nodded.

"You're right." Hearing this, Luma snorted.

"You give us hope and then say we have no way of tracking them. How helpful." She snorted and Qas gave her a pointed look before saying.

"So what would you propose? Quite frankly, I'm tempted to leave it entirely. The hidden realm was created by a Paragon. Anyone or anything that can whisk away such an existence isn't something any of us should be messing with. Fortunately or unfortunately, my love for my daughter surpasses my sense of self-preservation. Even then, there isn't much we can do. For all we know, the hidden realm has been taken to another dimension altogether. The best we can do is search around the best we can. If we find something, great, if not them we honestly have no reason to be surprised. Now if you have a better suggestion, I'm all ears, if not, then I'm going to try and look around instead of throwing a tantrum like a spoiled brat." When he finished his speech, there was a distinct grinding noise behind Luma's mask as she ground her teeth while Jeremy clenched his fists.

But none of them spoke.

Qas said nothing and snapped his fingers, causing several clones to appear and spread out while his main body went in a random direction. He also issued several commands to his clan to begin a wide-ranged search that spanned numerous galaxies and every accessible dimension.

The other Sovereigns followed suit, deciding it was better to try their luck than to sit around and do nothing.

However. Their search was bound to be short. Whether for better or for worse? That remained to be seen.

'Good thing I did what I did. Else, who knows how big Glacera would be right now?' Christopher wiped off metaphorical sweat from his brow as he watched as the last of the hidden realm was assimilated into his Dimension. And with it came the option for an upgrade.

He did, however, make Glacera a few times bigger. It couldn't be helped, there were trillions of creatures that lived in the hidden realm. Thankfully, he didn't need to increase the size of Glacera that much as it was already quite massive.

Now, the 'moon' was releasing extremely dense Creation and Oblivion energy from the recent influx. Far more than before, and Christopher felt all of it saturating the Primordial Expanse to an incredible degree.

He took a moment to enjoy the dense energy that had been enhanced ten thousand times before he heard a voice.

"Hm, so this is the source of your confidence." He looked down and saw Pruina's soul pulsing in his hand.

After the enhancement, his soul had been strengthened to an incredible degree. Not as strong as Christopher's, but probably more than anyone else in this place.

"Indeed. What do you think?" Chrasled and Pruina was silent for a moment before sighing.

"Are all Arbiters blessed with some sort of reality-bending constructs that make even old beings like me jealous? Because what am I even looking at?" This statement caused Christopher to chuckle.

"To be fair, I'm the only Arbiter I know. So I honestly can't give you an answer. But I feel like I'm a bit better off than most." He finally said.

"Hm, I can agree with that Master... wow that feels weird." The soul seemed to sound a bit off-put by addressing someone with such a term.

"I can imagine. Anyway, let's get you a new body." Christopher said and stopped overlooking the Dimension as he teleported to Eidrasil. Specifically, her main body.

When he appeared, he found himself on top of one of the massive roots that made up her base. The thickness of it alone was mode than most countries, and there were thousands of these roots.

"This life energy..." Pruina marveled.

"Amazing, right?" Christopher chuckled again, feeling oddly smug about impressing a Paragon.

"Master." A gentle voice entered Christopher's ears and he subconsciously relaxed as Eidrasil spoke. She didn't use her manifestation and spoke to him as she was.

"Eidrasil. How is it? Are you finished?" Christopher asked and the massive tree hummed slightly. Then in front of them, the root opened up and a body was pushed up.

"That's..." Pruina trailed off and Christopher nodded.

"Yup. Your new body." He said as he walked towards it.

"How did you have it created so fast?" Pruina couldn't help but ask. Their conversation hadn't been that long ago.

"Oh, well, my subordinates are very competent." Christopher chuckled and patted the branch. A gesture that should have been inconsequential, but the faint vibration of the tree and slight increase in vitality suggested otherwise.

"Anyway, you ready?" Christopher asked and the souk pulsed twice then answered.

"Yes. I am."
