My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World-Chapter 122: Imagination? Escape
Chapter 122: Imagination? Escape
Opening her eyes, Bai Hanyun saw the familiar ceiling.
"Am I back in my world?" she asked in confusion.
Pushing herself up from the bed, Bai Hanyun looked around and found the antique mirror lying beside her. Seeing that it had stopped glowing, she hesitated for a moment before picking it up.
Looking at the mirror’s surface, Bai Hanyun saw Feng Xiyan looking around—presumably searching for her.
After a moment of thought, she tapped the mirror twice, waited for the surface to clear, and said, "Feng Xiyan, can you hear me?"
She waited, but Feng Xiyan didn’t seem to hear her.
Realizing this, Bai Hanyun’s fingers tightened around the mirror as she muttered in disbelief, "No way... Don’t tell me this antique mirror not only sends items to Feng Xiyan’s side, but it can also send me over!"
As soon as her words fell, the mirror glowed brightly once.
At this sight, Bai Hanyun was stunned. A moment later, she opened her mouth and exclaimed, ".....Heaven, this is so damn amazing! I might be able to travel to the ancient world in the future! Ha ha ha!"
While Bai Hanyun laughed excitedly after discovering that the antique mirror could teleport her to Feng Xiyan’s world, Feng Xiyan was still searching for her.
"Fairy Bai, where are you?" he called out.
Hearing this, Xue Ruhong looked up and saw Feng Xiyan searching around the main hall. Frowning slightly, he stood up and asked, "Great General, what are you searching for?"
When Feng Xiyan heard this, he turned around and hurried up to Xue Ruhong. Grabbing his shoulder, he asked anxiously, "General Xue, have you seen Fairy Bai?"
Confused, Xue Ruhong shook his head and replied, "Great General, this subordinate has never seen Fairy Bai."
Feng Xiyan frowned at the answer. Retracting his hands, he looked at the golden body placed on the altar and thought, ’Was that just my imagination? But I clearly saw our eyes meet just now.’
Noticing something was wrong with his expression, Xue Ruhong asked, "Great General, are you alright?"
When the other generals and Yan Bingyang heard this, they quickly stood up and approached Feng Xiyan and Xue Ruhong.
"Great General, are your old injuries acting up again?" Yan Bingyang asked.
The question pulled Feng Xiyan out of his thoughts.
Looking at Yan Bingyang and the other generals’ worried expressions, he took a deep breath and calmly replied, "This general is fine. Since the ceremony is complete, let’s return to the barracks."
Yan Bingyang and the others exchanged looks before clasping their fists and responding, "Yes, Great General."
Before leaving, Feng Xiyan turned to glance at the golden body one more time. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he frowned slightly, then exited the temple.
Leaving fifty soldiers to guard the site, Feng Xiyan and the others returned to the barracks.
After they left, the common people stood up. They queued in front of the temple and took turns praying to Fairy Bai and Heaven.
While Xiqiang City was bustling with activity this morning, the same couldn’t be said for the Wen Clan’s second young master, Wen Yirui.
Pacing back and forth inside his tent, Wen Yirui anxiously muttered, "Why is there still no news from General Ji? What is taking him so long?"
Feeling restless, he grabbed the bronze cup on the long table and brought it to his lips. However, just as he was about to take a sip, he realized the cup was empty.
"Damn it!" he cursed, throwing the bronze cup to the ground.
Clang!
Just as the cup hit the floor, Wen Yirui heard approaching footsteps. His eyes flickered briefly before he said, "No, this young master can’t stay here any longer!"
Having made up his mind, Wen Yirui ordered, "We leave now!"
"Yes, Second Young Master!" The guards and maidservants responded in unison.
As Wen Yirui and his entourage slipped out of the tent and rushed toward the north gate of the Yuezhi Tribe’s camp, Kai Mu’s furious voice rang out from behind.
"Wen Yirui! Come out!" Storming into the tent, Kai Mu saw the mess left behind.
Seeing no trace of Wen Yirui, he gritted his teeth and furiously ordered, "Search! Find that bastard and bring him to this general! This general wants him alive!"
"Yes, Supreme General!" the soldiers answered before hurrying off to search for Wen Yirui.
Left alone with his generals, Kai Mu asked, "Where is the military advisor?"
One of the generals stepped forward and reported, "Reporting to the Supreme General. The military advisor is unwell and currently resting in his tent."
Hearing this, Kai Mu frowned. "Let’s go check on him. We can’t afford anything to happen to him."
"Yes, Supreme General." Following Kai Mu, the generals left to visit Kong Jixing in his tent.
Meanwhile, Wen Yirui and his group had safely escaped the Yuezhi Tribe’s camp.
Scanning the vast, barren land around them, the captain of the guards asked, "Second Young Master, where should we go now?"
Wen Yirui clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white and replied, "Go find General Ji. This young master demands an explanation! How dare he ignore my orders!"
Seeing his master’s fury, the captain said cautiously, "Second Young Master, please calm down."
Glaring at him, Wen Yirui asked through gritted teeth, "How can this young master calm down?! Because of Ji Hui, this young master failed my mission! Do you know what awaits this young master when I return to the imperial capital city?!"
The captain, who had served the Wen Clan for over a decade, was well aware of Wen Kang’s cruel and ruthless nature.
Noticing the flicker of fear in Wen Yirui’s eyes, the captain thought for a moment before saying, "Second Young Master, the nearest city is Xihu City, but it was abandoned months ago. If we try to reach Xiquan City directly, we won’t have enough water and food."
Wen Yirui frowned deeply at the news.
After a brief pause, he asked, "Aside from Xiquan City and Xiqiang City, are there no other places where we can replenish our supplies?"
