My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World-Chapter 89: Rumors, Secret Order
Chapter 89: Rumors, Secret Order
Hua Yuyu nodded, and then Bai Hanyun transferred another 20,000 yuan to him. "Please help me buy some snacks too."
"Alright."
After Hua Yuyu left to buy food, Bai Hanyun watched the workers move the goods into the warehouse. When they were done, she gave each of them 100 yuan.
Once the workers had left, Bai Hanyun hurried into the warehouse and took the antique mirror from her backpack.
She tapped the frame twice, then looked into it after the surface cleared. Seeing that Feng Xiyan wasn’t around, she thought for a moment before putting the antique mirror back into her backpack.
While waiting for Hua Yuyu to return, she sat inside the warehouse and checked the surveillance camera feeds.
After watching for a while, she suddenly realized something.
Slapping her forehead, Bai Hanyun exclaimed in distress, "How could I forget this?! I have been delivering so many things into this warehouse, but nothing has ever been delivered out. No wonder Brother Hua is suspicious of me."
She frowned slightly and murmured, "If someone investigates me with ill intentions, they will find this strange."
She was silent for a moment and then shook her head. "This won’t do. I can’t let anyone know about the antique mirror. Otherwise, it will not only cause trouble for me, but even Feng Xiyan and the others may be affected."
Closing the surveillance camera’s feed, she thought, ’It seems that I have to send some goods out as soon as possible.’
Making up her mind, Bai Hanyun quickly called Li Dagou. "Boss Li, I want to order food, mineral water, and medicine to send to disaster-affected areas. Can you help me pack them into smaller packages?"
Li Dagou, knowing that some donors like to print their names or company logos on donated items, replied calmly, "No problem. Miss Bai, would you like your name printed on the packages?"
Thinking that Li Dagou knew more about this than she did, Bai Hanyun agreed. "Sure. Just print my initials on them."
"Alright. How many packages do you want, Miss Bai?" he asked.
Bai Hanyun thought for a moment and said, "Please prepare 10,000 packs. Each package should contain a week’s worth of supplies."
The moment Li Dagou heard the number, he laughed and responded, "Miss Bai is as generous as ever. I will prepare the packages as requested."
"How much for all of them?" she asked.
Li Dagou calculated for a moment before replying, "Each package includes three meals a day for a week with meat dishes, vegetable dishes, a pack of cookies, and water. The price is 500 yuan per package, so the total comes to 5 million yuan."
After hearing the price, Bai Hanyun transferred 2 million yuan to him and said, "Boss Li, please deliver them to my warehouse today."
Having done business with her before, Li Dagou knew she valued fast delivery and made a mental note to prioritize her order.
"Sure. I will get them delivered as soon as the packing is done," he said.
"Alright. I will be waiting for the delivery."
After ending the call, Bai Hanyun searched online and chose a government-backed social organization. She reviewed their track record and where they sent relief supplies before contacting the director.
When the director heard she intended to donate 10,000 supply packages to disaster victims, he was so shocked he nearly fell out of his chair.
Unable to believe his ears, the director asked again, "Are you sure you want to donate 10,000 packages, Miss Bai?"
To the victims, these supplies might seem like just a drop of water in the ocean. But as a personal donation, it was no small gesture. That’s why the director was stunned by Bai Hanyun’s generosity.
Unaware of his thoughts, Bai Hanyun confirmed for the third time, "Yes. Is there any requirement for donations right now?"
Snapping out of his daze, the director quickly replied, "No, no, no. There is no requirement. Miss Bai, would you prefer to send the supplies to us, or should we come pick them up?"
Thinking it would be a waste of time for the organization to make a round trip, Bai Hanyun answered, "It will be more efficient if I deliver them. Just send me the address, and I will have them delivered."
"Since you have said that, then I will gratefully accept your arrangement. Miss Bai, on behalf of the victims, I would like to thank you for your donation," the director said.
Bai Hanyun smiled at his words and humbly replied, "It’s just a small matter. Helping each other is what we should do."
After exchanging contact information, the director sent her the organization’s address.
Just as she saved it, Bai Hanyun heard the sound of an approaching car. Putting away her phone, she locked the warehouse and waited for Hua Yuyu to pull up.
Getting into the back seat, she said, "Brother Hua, I might need to come back later to accept a delivery."
"Alright," Hua Yuyu replied, handing her the food he’d bought. Without asking any questions, he drove them home.
While Bai Hanyun was enjoying her lazy time watching dramas and lying in bed, news of the Feng Army’s repeated victories against the Yuezhi Tribe finally spread to nearby villages, towns, and counties.
Sitting around a long table, Feng Xiyan looked at the generals and said, "This general just received a secret order from the Emperor. He wants us to hand over our food to the imperial capital city."
As soon as he finished speaking, the generals erupted in anger.
Slamming the table, Zhan Qi furiously scolded, "That dog Emperor! When we requested food and fodder, they refused with every excuse imaginable. Now that we have supplies, they want to rob us? How can there be such a good thing in this world?!"
Seeing how angry he was, Xue Ruhong tried to calm him. "General Zhan, please calm down."
Zhan Qi turned to him and snapped, "How can I stay calm?! Those people only know how to drink the blood of the commoners and sacrifice soldiers’ lives. When danger comes, they are the first to abandon us! There is no reason to serve such an Emperor anymore!"
