Chapter 87: Celestial Spies

The old man and woman weren’t humans. Ethan could see everything down to the molecular level if he wanted to. The moment he laid eyes on them, he had a bad feeling in his gut.

But the real question was, how had they managed to enter Earth while Emissary Arthur was overseeing everything?

He spread his mental domain out and wrapped it around those two. They were both Emperor-level, but insanely strong—as powerful as Ariel or maybe even stronger.

"Who are these two? They’re not vampires. Are they Celestials? They really move fast and have a lot of tricks up their sleeves, it seems," Ethan thought.

He made sure to wrap Rose and every other human in the area within his mental barrier, so that even if those two attacked, nobody else would get hurt.

Ethan didn’t say anything. He just walked into the restaurant and found an empty table to sit at. freёnovelkiss-com

Rose didn’t know anything about what was going on. She was just happy to finally come out with Ethan.

Ethan shouted, "Old man, bring us your signature dishes!"

The old man smiled kindly at him and brought out a full tray of food.

Ethan scanned the dishes. They didn’t look poisoned. So they were trying to act like good businessmen and blend in with Earth, huh? Let’s see how far this little show could go.

He and Rose started eating. Ethan had to admit, the food was actually really good.

While they were eating, a group of tough-looking guys barged into the restaurant. The leader shouted, "Old geezer, have you prepared the money, or do you want to die today?"

The old woman started crying. "Please, leave us alone. We don’t have that much money."

The leader smirked. "You could rent a restaurant in a new city by the river, and now you’re telling me you don’t have money? Who the fuck would believe that? Get us the money, or else—hehehe—this little love nest of you old dogs will be demolished."

Ethan watched the scene with amusement. "Damn, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Let’s see how you handle this situation. Humans are the most disgusting creatures, you should know. A bunch of noobs thinking they can mess with anybody."

He could clearly see the killing intent in the eyes of the old couple. If nobody was here, Ethan was sure those seven thugs would already be dead meat.

But he was really enjoying the show.

Then he noticed Rose’s face had turned dark. She was about to get up and teach those bastards a lesson.

Ethan quickly stopped her. "Why do you want to ruin the fun, sweetie? Just watch and laugh."

Rose was confused. What was so funny about this? It was obviously some scum bullying an old couple. But she knew Ethan well enough to understand he never said things without a reason. So she sat back down and started watching with him.

The leader punched a table and smashed it to pieces. The customers started running out in a panic.

He shouted, "Geezer, I’m going to break one table every minute if you don’t pay up. Then I’ll break everything else inside."

His lackeys laughed. "Boss, just break them all. That old bastard can surely afford to buy new ones."

The old man started crying and pleading. "Please, leave us. We don’t have that money. Where would I find ten million credits? Please, have some mercy."

Ethan thought, "Damn, they really are good at acting. What great performers."

Then he spoke up. "Old man, you should give the money to these brothers. After all, they’ll be protecting you after taking the money, right, brother?"

The leader started laughing. "You’re absolutely right, brother. This old geezer doesn’t understand how dangerous this city is. We’d protect them. By the way, why don’t you bring your girl over to have a drink with us after we get the money?"

Ethan’s eyes turned cold. But he still didn’t react. He wanted to see what those aliens would do.

He said calmly, "You see, my wife is sick and can’t have alcohol. I don’t drink either. You brothers carry on. We’ll leave now."

The leader’s face twisted into a sneer. "Punk, bring her over here. Or else we won’t mind crippling you and taking her for ourselves."

Ethan sighed. "Damn my mouth. Why did I have to butt in? The fun was just about to hit its peak. Now I have to end this shit."

He looked at the hoodlums, and in the next instant, every single one of their heads flew off their shoulders.

The old couple screamed when they saw the blood, but there was also astonishment in their eyes. They hadn’t seen how Ethan killed those people.

Ethan stood up and said, "Okay, old man. Your food was good. Here’s the money. We’ll leave."

Just as he was about to walk away with Rose, the old man said in a calm voice, "Stop."

Ethan smiled with a devilish grin, then quickly hid it and looked back at the old man with a neutral face. "What is it?"

The old man asked, "Who are you? Why don’t I know someone like you exists on Earth?"

Ethan replied with an amused tone, "Oh? You know everyone on Earth, old man? How’s that possible?"

The old man looked flustered for a second, but then his eyes turned cold. Maybe he’d decided to kill Ethan right here. Someone like Ethan could become a threat to them in the future. Killing a genius would earn them more contribution points.

He attacked Ethan without giving any warning.

Rose’s eyes widened in shock. She couldn’t even see the old man’s movement.

The old man had a dagger in his hand and was about to slice Ethan’s throat when Ethan caught the blade between two fingers.

The old man’s eyes went as wide as footballs. He immediately let go of the dagger and somersaulted backward on instinct alone, because he felt the aura of death coming off this young man.

The old woman moved too and came to stand beside the old man.

Ethan started playing with the dagger in his hand and said casually, "Hmm, this metal isn’t bad. Your Celestial race sure has some nice things."

When the couple heard this, they attacked together without hesitation. Their identities were exposed. They had to leave this place, but before that, they were determined to kill Ethan.

Ethan just looked at them, and both of them froze in midair like time had stopped.

He had used his mental energy. After surpassing Earth Mass, his mental energy could even control living beings now.

Ethan walked over to them. "You guys are clones too, huh? That’s a bummer. If you were real, I could’ve extracted some memories."

Then Ethan’s mental energy invaded their brains. The moment it did, he felt the souls inside those clones vanish—probably self-destruction.

"What dedication," he thought. "Anyway, I’ll be using these two clones from now on. Hehe. If these two could come, I’m pretty sure others will come too. I’ll find them later. Let them have their fun for now. The Earth really is beautiful, after all."

Rose looked at him as she also wanted to know what was going on. Ethan laughed. Dom’t worry about anything. Just some ants trying to kill a dinosaur. Ethan put those two clones inside his space ring and took his bike to visit other cities.
