Chapter 1171: Chapter 1170: Trouble

In the Demon circle, gender, age, and species are not barriers to reproduction, and in some mixed cities, one could even witness scenes that completely overturn one’s worldviews.

By comparison, the "intimacy" between Han Dong and Swollen Doctor seemed quite normal.

Given their relationship, Pope indeed found it difficult to compel anything further.

The conversation then moved on to the incident of stumbling into the estate.

Pope, who was devoid of any Element Body’s airs, readily admitted his mistake and signed a confidentiality agreement, promising that neither he nor Hyde would reveal any of the laboratory’s secrets.

This behavior somewhat surprised Han Dong.

After all, most of the Elements he had seen were somewhat tough, or downright unreasonable... But Pope, on the other hand, seemed to understand "rules" very well.

And Han Dong could pretty much affirm that this sense of being knowledgeable and reasonable wasn’t an act; that was just who he was.

It was during the signing of the confidentiality agreement that Pope curiously asked, "If I’m not mistaken, the "Elder Race" in your lab must be brought over from Eugenes, right?

That guy is quite ’troublesome’, you must have spent a great deal of effort, right?"

Upon the mention of ’Eugenes’, Hyde, standing close by, also showed a rather displeased expression, seeming to have a significant issue with the extremely wicked Eugenes, or even disagreement with Eugenes’ identity.

"Hmm, I visited the Antarctic roughly four months ago," Han Dong responded without going into detail, simply mentioning the word "Antarctic."

"Truly deserving of being the winner of the London Game, even the two of us wouldn’t dare venture into Shoggoth’s lair unprepared.

I’m looking forward to your performance in the next game, and by then, you will have probably completed ’Opening the gate’."

Speaking of opening the gate,

Han Dong was just scheming an important event.

Taking into account Pope’s uniqueness, Han Dong tried to extend a different kind of invitation:

"Are the two of you interested in ’Fate Space’?

Due to my unique human identity and growth reliant on the Fate System, my familiarity with Fate should be higher than any Demon’s. Interested in joining?"

In Han Dong’s view,

the ability to clear a Fate event required not just fundamental combat values but, more importantly, strategies.

If Pope could join forces with him, not only could they significantly reduce the difficulty of the Fate events, but they would also have a greater chance of victory... just as Pope had mentioned, Han Dong indeed planned to complete ’Opening the gate’ before the next game.

Meaning, Han Dong aimed to seize ’Talent Points ×2’ in the Fate event.

In response to Han Dong’s invitation, Pope didn’t answer directly but instead posed another question:

"I heard that the winner of the London Game is you and Green.

You guys must have had some special collaboration? Otherwise, Green’s personality would never allow him to share victory with others.

If your relationship with Green qualifies as ’friends’ or even friendlier, it would be difficult for us to collaborate, and hard to be friends."

Hearing this response, Han Dong could only show an awkward smile, "That’s too bad..."

"It’s okay, this doesn’t affect going into the ’Void’, it just means we can’t be friends... Sorry to make the conversation awkward.

Let’s leave it at that for now; we still need to thoroughly survey London City. See you next time."

"Sure."

Han Dong didn’t insist.

Although Pope ranked first among the Elements in terms of cunning and intellect,

it wasn’t essential for Han Dong.

Among humans, he had a similar companion, and to some extent might even be on par with Pope.

With these thoughts,

Dumps, who was on the march, suddenly sneezed.

...

The conversation came to an early close due to the topic involving ’Green’.

Pope waved his hand gently, and everyone instantly felt the sensation of spatial transmission... The separated private room returned to the original Gorin Hotel.

It was as though a piece of Lego had been put back into the main structure.

However,

Just as the spatial transmission ended,

Several people sitting at the dining table, including Swollen Doctor, detected a troublesome scent... Simultaneously, the walls of the private room developed numerous cracks.

Gurgle, gurgle~

A black tar-like substance was seeping incessantly from the crevices in the walls.

Sensing the state of the tar, it seemed to originate from the power of some dark denizen... This puzzled Han Dong.

This was London City, after all; who would be so bold as to lay a hand on an Element Body? Not to mention, his identity as the Bishop of The Black Moon.

Suddenly, Han Dong recalled a warning given by the Black Night Priest before he had departed from the manor.

"...If a special event occurs, make sure to ensure Pope’s safety and inform us of the situation as much as possible."

At that moment, an unperturbed Pope said,

"Nicholas, you better take the doctor and leave this place... These guys are here for me.

Although our conversation gave these people time to gather and set the scene, Hyde and I can handle it."

Han Dong retorted, "With your Void Abilities, you should be able to leave with ease, right?"

"We still need to stay in London City for a few more days.

Trouble will naturally come our way, and due to prolonged ’fermentation,’ the trouble might escalate... It’s better to deal with it directly here."

"Fine, then."

Since there was no chance to befriend the other party, Han Dong had no desire to intervene in such troublesome matters... Moreover, the best course of action at the moment was to report the situation here to the Priest.

Han Dong wrapped his arm around Swollen Doctor by his side.

With a wisp of starlight appearing around his calves, Han Dong had already exited the private room, landing in the front yard of Gorin Hotel.

The previously clean and tidy front yard area now bore black wild grass several meters high, and black thorns covered the walls... The main gate was blocked by a black giant with a cloth bag over its head.

"While we were talking, they’ve already modified the entire hotel... This hotel is quite famous in London City, why would they do this? Not to mention whether they can truly defeat Pope and Hyde, the two Elementals.

Once exposed, all the demons here would be executed, right?"

As Han Dong pondered,

Swollen Doctor beside him provided an answer:

"Lord, this is considered normal... Pope, the ’Second Element,’ is a treasure trove.

His body can serve as a ’key’ to the Void and can thus be used to gain rare Void Abilities. His skull, which we’ve seen resembling a celestial brain, facilitates transfer.

In other words, once Pope is killed, one could obtain his most powerful brain.

The most outrageous part is, this information all comes from Pope’s teacher, the supreme ’Void Master’... Moreover, He Himself allows peers to attack Pope and permits others to covet and seize Pope’s body.

This means that what happens here will not be held accountable.

Such an act is more like a trial for Pope.

Not many demons can resist such temptation."

"I see, so I have a chance as well?"

"That’s correct... However, ever since Pope became a demon, he has traveled the world, encountering many dangerous situations, yet unrestrainedly growing to this point. I’m sure you can understand the reason for this, right?"

"Ha-ha, Doctor, don’t be nervous, I was just joking... Killing this guy is probably no easier than killing Green.

This is interesting; let’s stay and watch the show.

Since there is such a setup, this guy is definitely not as ’well-read and polite’ as he appears, and once the fight starts, he’ll probably become a different person."
