My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 315: Fitting Perfectly Into The Role Of His Wife
Chapter 315: Fitting Perfectly Into The Role Of His Wife
(Arata)
Judging by the reactions of Karsten, Rahsir and Roshra, I could only imagine that the man who had interrupted us was their father.
Roshra had climbed down the stage to go hug her brother and he just held her.
Camilla, Grandma Martina and their other family members seemed shocked as they conversed for a few minutes before turning to the guests with forced smiles.
Stella and Cherry helped me down the aisle, and instantly, Mom and Baba had me in their arms. They seemed angered at the interruption.
"Was that Karsten’s biological father?" I quietly asked.
Mom drew in a deep breath and Baba offered me a sharp nod.
Soon, Camilla joined us with a smile that didn’t reach her saddened eyes.
Placing a hand on my arm, she said, "Congratulations, my child. Sorry for the intrusion. We don’t know how he just entered the premises."
Her lips quivered and we could see she was just trying to keep herself together.
Stepping closer, I offered her a consoling hug.
"Don’t worry, Karsten will deal with it. You don’t need to apologise for something you didn’t do." She heaved a weary sigh and then melted into my touch as if relieved.
"Arata is right. It’s not your fault that he chose to interrupt such a moment," Baba added quietly but I knew he was just trying to control his anger against the man.
"Come, we should go and talk to the guests so this tension can ease," Mom offered with a soft smile, trying to diminish the tension.
Camilla and I separated and decided to thank and meet everyone. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
I wished Karsten to be by my side at this moment, but as his wife, I knew I had to be tough. Situations similar to these would occasionally rear their head and it was now my duty to deal with them in his absence.
Putting on a bright smile I ambled forward and approached the twins first. They were trying to hold themselves together but I could see how dejected and angered they appeared.
"Hey! You guys good?" I placed one hand on Roshra’s shoulder and the other on Rahsir’s. I had never seen either of them so serious.
"Yeah! It just came as a shock." The raw pain radiated on Roshra’s face. "As a child, it was my biggest dream to meet my father. Seeing everyone around me bring their fathers to school events, playgrounds left me hollow. But when I learnt the truth about him..." She sniffled, unable to continue.
Rahsir pulled her sideways into him, consoling her. His jaw had tightened so stiffly that I could see the veins standing out. "That bastard shouldn’t have been let out."
I couldn’t relate to their pain. Not having a loving, caring father growing up was something I couldn’t even imagine, but I could feel deep inside my heart what they were going through.
"Karsten will deal with him and karma always gets to such people. You guys deserve so much better." I squeezed their shoulders again, consoling them until both of them had calmed down.
"Go, enjoy your day. I wish he hadn’t ruined it. We are going to be fine," Roshra assured me.
I then went on to individually meet the guests and ensure that everything was under control and they didn’t have to worry.
"Congratulations, you look gorgeous." Miranda hugged me warmly.
"Absolutely stunning. What a dress," Chan agreed.
"Karsten designed it for me," I proudly informed them.
Zaylen and Stella stayed by my side. While I was speaking to Miranda and Chan, Karsten returned.
One look and I could tell how tense he appeared. His steps were rapid, not relaxed, and there was rage in his eyes.
Rahsir instantly proceeded to meet his brother and both of them quietly exchanged some words.
His eyes then met mine and he tried to force a smile. Taking long strides he walked up to me, pulling me into his embrace.
"You good?" I asked, my arms went behind his rigid back. I slowly tried to calm him down.
"I am not but I don’t want our day to be ruined any further. Let’s continue with the rest of the celebrations."
I wanted to ask him what he had done about his father, but that was a conversation for later, when we would be alone.
Karsten had a word with Camilla and his grandmother while I met Aunt Huria and Uncle Lawrence’s family.
After that, we met the rest of the guests, cut our wedding cake, and posed for pictures with our families and friends.
I threw the bouquet as we had planned. Roshra caught it but seemed less enthusiastic than she would have been if that man hadn’t interrupted us.
The incident had taken a toll on all of them. Karsten stood by my side, his hand on the small of my back and yet he seemed rigid and slightly lost.
When the music came on and it was time for our dance, I guided him to the dance floor.
Instantly he held me, placing his forehead against mine and his warm hands on my waist.
"I am sorry, Arata. This was supposed to be a special and wonderful day and yet I am not being a good husband on the very first day of our holy union."
Our feet moved with the slow beat of the music as we kept the tempo.
"That’s a very long commitment you made, today. Don’t worry, I will give you passes on your down days. I have plenty of them." Purposely I rubbed my cheek against his chin, earning myself a smile from him.
"That’s my boy." He eased after that and the atmosphere relaxed. By the time we were done, everyone seemed to be having fun or getting drunk.
After the ceremony, we decided to say goodbye to our family. We needed to fly over to the Dreams of Isle where Baba had purchased a villa for us.
For our honeymoon, we had decided to stay there. Since I had promised Karsten I would take him there if he would quit smoking.
It was time to fulfil that promise.
Stella and Cherry helped me change into more comfortable clothes for travelling.
"We love you girl. Have a great time and get a lot of pictures to send us." Cherry kissed my cheek.
"Will do."
Stella hugged me tight. "I will miss you. Good luck on this new journey."
Mom, Baba and Zaylen followed and gave me a collective tight hug.
"Keep in contact," Baba whispered, before letting me go and helping me into the car.
"I will. Bye." I waved from the car at our loved ones as Karsten stole me away in his Blue Lamborghini.
