My Childhood Bully is a Mafia Boss-Chapter 24
Ivy, present time...
With trembling hands, I stuffed my belongings into the suitcase, my mind racing with fear and confusion.
Everything was happening too fast. Aidan’s twisted game of a fake honeymoon had escalated into a nightmare where he was now blackmailing me to live with him. My whole world was crumbling before my eyes and I couldn’t even begin to comprehend what my life had become.
Just days ago, I had been an ambitious young woman, eager to succeed and build a business empire. But now, I was nothing more than a pawn in his hand.
But one thing was certain: I couldn’t let Aidan win at everything. I couldn’t let him break me.
I needed a plan to destroy him.
"Almost done?"
His deep voice behind me startled me. I zipped my bag and turned to him slowly. "Yes. I am done packing."
Aidan’s presence loomed over me like a dark cloud, his eyes boring into mine with an intensity that made my stomach flip. But I refused to let him see the fear that threatened to consume me, the uncertainty that gnawed at my resolve.
I squared my shoulders and met his gaze head-on, summoning every ounce of strength I had left. "are we leaving now?" I asked, my voice steady despite the turmoil raging inside me.
Aidan’s lips curled into a smirk, a knowing glint in his eyes that made my blood run cold. "Yes. The car is ready to take us to the helicopter."
I furrowed my brows. "A helicopter? Why not the plane again?"
"It will be faster with a helicopter," he said dismissively.
I wondered why he was rushing to go back, but I didn’t feel like asking him. Instead, I quietly followed him out.
As I trailed behind Aidan, I couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that settled like a stone in the pit of my stomach. The prospect of living with him was just...ugh.
But I forced myself to stay calm for now.
I would get my chance, and when I did, I’d make sure he regretted ever messing with the wrong person.
The helicopter ride was a blur of noise and motion. As we flew over the city, I couldn’t help but marvel at the view from above. But my mind was too preoccupied with thoughts of Aidan to truly appreciate it.
Soon enough, we landed on a private helipad in front of a luxurious mansion.
Aidan led me inside, his hand firmly gripping my arm. I wanted to shake him off, but I knew better than to provoke him further.
The interior of the mansion was just as grand as the exterior. Marble floors, high ceilings, and expensive furnishings filled every room. It was clear that no expense had been spared in its design and decoration.
Despite its opulence, there was something cold and soulless about the place. It felt like a prison rather than a home.
"Welcome to your new home," Aidan said, grinning at me devilishly.
I shot him a glare. "Are you expecting me to move in right this minute?"
"Yes. Why delay?" he asked nonchalantly.
"I can’t just move in, Aidan. I have a place of my own. I can’t just abandon it," I said.
Aidan shrugged. "You mean your loft in the city? Call your assistant and tell her to put it up for rent or something. Or sell it. I don’t care what you do with it because you are living with me now."
Aidan’s words sent a chill down my spine, a cold reminder that he was taking control of my life. The thought of abandoning my own home, the place where I had built my life and my dreams, filled me with a sense of loss and despair.
But I knew better than to argue with him, to defy his demands. Aidan was not someone to be trifled with. I was starting to understand that. I had to tread carefully around him.
With a resigned sigh, I pulled out my phone and dialed my assistant’s number, my fingers trembling slightly as I waited for her to pick up.
"Madison, it’s Ivy. I need you to do something for me," I said, my voice steady despite the turmoil raging inside me. "I need you to put my loft up for rent. Effective immediately."
There was a pause on the other end of the line. "Put it up for rent? Are you moving, Miss Williams?"
"I’ll explain everything another time. Have someone pack up my clothes there and send them to...," I stopped as I realized I had no idea where I was. "I will text you the address."
"Alright. Is everything okay, Miss Williams?" Madison asked, her voice laced with concern.
"Everything is fine," I said quietly, my voice barely above a whisper.
I turned to Aidan after I hung up the phone. "There, are you happy now?" 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Ecstatic. Now let me show you to your room."
With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I followed him down the hallway, the weight of his presence bearing down on me like a leaden cloak. As we reached the door to my new room, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of despair wash over me.
This was not a home. It was a prison, a gilded cage from which there was no escape.
Aidan opened the door, revealing a spacious room that was anything but inviting. "Make yourself at home," he said.
"Thank you for your hospitality," I muttered, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You’re welcome," he deadpanned. "I have to leave for a few hours. I will send Molly to introduce herself."
"Who is Molly?" I asked.
"My housekeeper and cook. If you need anything, just ask her," Aidan said.
"I will ask her for some ropes so I can choke you with it," I said nonchalantly.
Aidan chuckled darkly, "Cute, but I don’t think you’d have it in you."
With that, he left, slamming the door behind him, leaving me alone in the room.
I stood there for a moment, staring at the door. I couldn’t believe I had let him talk me into this. But then again, I didn’t want my parents to be in danger because I didn’t listen to Aidan.
The room was tastefully decorated in muted colors, and everything was pristine. I dumped my bag on the bed and collapsed onto it. I allowed my tears to fall as I thought about my current situation.
What did I do to deserve this?
Another thought crept into my mind as I remembered Aidan from back in high school.
He had always been a bit of a jerk, constantly belittling and tormenting me. But one day he showed me a softer side of him. That day he let his guard down and showed vulnerability, revealing a different side of himself that I had never seen before.
