My Childhood Bully is a Mafia Boss-Chapter 91
Ellie
"Absolutely not!" Aidan roared.
"Aidan," Ivy started, placing a hand on his arm, but he glared at her before turning back to me.
"Under no circumstances do you need to be seeing Giovanni again," he said.
I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm in the face of his anger. "Aidan, I understand your concern, but we never sorted out what Giovanni wants from me. We never got to put that whole Slava thing to rest because I went into labor!" I exclaimed.
"You have bigger things to worry about now, Ellie. I will set things straight with Giovanni Leones. All you need to worry about now is to be the mother to your children," Adrian argued.
"And what if he won’t stop, Aidan? What if ignoring him just makes things worse?" I asked, frustration seeping into my voice. "We can’t pretend he doesn’t exist. He has already intruded into our lives, and we need to know what he really wants."
"Ellie, you’re not dealing with an ordinary man," Aidan said, his tone softening but still firm. "Giovanni is dangerous, and I don’t want you or the kids anywhere near him. Let me handle this."
"No, Aidan," I said firmly. "I am used to dealing with men like this, so let me figure this out. If he wanted to hurt me, he would’ve already, but he didn’t," I said.
Aidan’s jaw tightened, and for a moment, I thought he might continue to argue, but then he took a deep breath, his shoulders relaxing just slightly. "Ellie, I know you’re strong. But this isn’t just about you anymore. It’s about the kids. You have to be careful."
"I will be careful," I promised, my voice steady. "But I can’t just ignore this. We need answers, and the only way to get them is to confront Giovanni myself."
Ivy, who had been quietly observing, spoke up. "Aidan, maybe we should trust Ellie on this. She knows what she’s doing, and we can support her while still keeping the kids safe."
Aidan looked between Ivy and me, his expression a mix of frustration and reluctant acceptance. Finally, he nodded. "Alright, Ellie. We’ll do it your way."
"Thank you, Aidan," I said, feeling a wave of relief.
I quickly left the room, my heart pounding in my chest. As much as I wanted to assure Aidan that everything would be fine, I was scared, not for me, but for my kids. They were my world, and the thought of putting them in danger made my blood run cold.
I went inside Elora’s room. The room was filled with an array of presents Giovanni had sent over. Molly had moved them in here and I hadn’t had the chance to look through them until now.
I walked over to Elora’s crib and looked down at her peaceful, sleeping face. The sight of her tiny chest rising and falling with each breath filled me with a sense of happiness.
Taking a deep breath, I began to sort through the gifts. There were bags of baby clothes, diapers, and pretty much everything I’d ever need for Elora.
My focus went on the handcrafted crib. It was a beautiful piece of work, meticulously detailed. There was something personal about it, almost as if Giovanni was trying to make a statement beyond mere generosity.
As I sifted through the gifts, I found a small, unmarked envelope tucked away under the crib’s mattress. My heart skipped a beat as I opened it and pulled out a neatly folded letter. The handwriting on it was elegant, and I read the words carefully:
Bella,
I understand that my actions might seem intrusive, and for that, I apologize. But know this: this is not a game.
Giovanni.
That’s it. That’s all he wrote.
The man was weird.
Just then, I heard a soft knock on the door. I turned to see Lucas standing there, his eyes wide with curiosity. "Mommy, what are you doing?"
I forced a smile. "Mommy’s just thinking."
Lucas walked over and looked at me. "Thinking about what?"
I quickly folded the letter and put it back in the envelope, setting it aside before turning my full attention to Lucas. "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you and Elora," I said, reaching out to ruffle his hair.
Lucas’s face lit up with innocence, his eyes sparkling. "Can I help with the presents?" he asked eagerly.
"Of course," I replied, my heart warming at his eagerness. "Let’s see what else is in these boxes."
As Lucas and I explored the gifts together, I couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer quantity and quality of the items Giovanni had sent. A part of me felt uncomfortable accepting so much from someone I barely knew.
Especially when that someone was technically my enemy.
After a while, Lucas found a small stuffed bunny and immediately decided it was for Elora. He placed it gently in her crib, careful not to wake her. The sight of him being so tender with his sister filled me with an overwhelming sense of pride and love.
"You’re such a good big brother, Lucas," I said, giving him a hug. I loved him so much it hurt.
Lucas beamed. "I want to take care of her, Mommy. Just like you take care of us."
I hugged him tighter, feeling tears prick in my eyes. "And you will, my sweet boy. You will." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Mommy, look!" Lucas exclaimed, holding up a sleek toy car. It was a miniature version of a classic sports car, painted in a vibrant red with intricate detailing. Clearly, it was meant for Lucas.
So he knew about Lucas too.
But I smiled, my heart warming at Lucas’s excitement. "Wow, that’s a really cool car, Lucas."
Lucas nodded eagerly. "Can I play with it now?"
"Of course," I said, ruffling his hair. "Just be careful with it, okay?"
Lucas ran off to play, his laughter echoing through the house. I turned back to the gifts, and my thoughts returned to the meeting with Giovanni. What would I say to him? Should I thank him for the gifts? Or should I yell at him for inserting himself into my life?
And that dress...what was that all about?
