My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 714: You Know Medical Skills?
"Oh, Mrs. Lin, your skincare is truly impressive."
"Dear sister, what skincare products do you use?"
"Exactly! Give me some recommendations. I might become a distributor and sell them in my store."
"You’re in your fifties? Who would believe that!"
Unlike Mrs. Qin, these ladies were cheerful and enthusiastic, and Zhang Yuxi didn’t know how to respond.
"I don’t use any special skincare products, just some of those big-name brands..."
Who would believe Zhang Yuxi when she said that? But then again, they figured she had no reason to lie. All they could do was console themselves that everyone’s constitution is different. Some people are just blessed by the heavens, and what can you do about it?
No wonder her four children were each so successful. Her husband handled everything, both inside and outside the home. All she had to do was remain as beautiful as a flower!
Looks and figure are hurdles no woman can avoid!
They then asked Zhang Yuxi how she maintained her physique. What a figure! They clucked their tongues in admiration.
Zhang Yuxi candidly admitted that she didn’t do yoga, didn’t diet, and didn’t use any special body care products. On the contrary, because of her busy work schedule, her meals were often irregular. When she got home, her motto was quirky: if you can sit, never lie down. If you can fall asleep, never just lie there awake...
She was a lazy beauty. Lin Feng had handled all her daily needs for years—from her clothes and food to her housing and transportation—sparing her any worry.
The ladies’ eyes widened, thinking Zhang Yuxi’s claims were a bit far-fetched.
Zhang Yuxi said seriously, "I’ve tried to lose weight a few times, but I always failed, so I eventually gave up."
One of the ladies said, not too quietly, "I just saw her. She really did eat quite a bit..."
Unlike them, who were very restrained with their food to maintain their figures.
The ladies looked at each other, having hoped to learn from her experience. But this kind of experience... it’s probably better not to learn it.
They were very close with Mrs. Qin, so naturally, they also felt an affinity for Zhang Yuxi. They wanted to learn parenting tips from her.
Zhang Yuxi, with the same frankness, admitted that she was basically useless. The fact that her children had achieved so much success today... it seemed like she hadn’t done a thing. It was all her husband who had educated them. In other families, the husband went out to earn money to support the family while the wife stayed home to educate the children. In their family, she went out to work, while the children and home were left to her husband.
Even though I ended up earning less than my husband, that’s not the point. The real issue is that I haven’t made any significant contribution to my children or the family!
This was her regret.
But what did regret matter now that her four treasures were all grown up! Now, she could only try to make it up to her youngest.
The ladies were speechless.
Did we ask the wrong person? Alright then, we’ll just have our husbands go and learn from him later.
One of the ladies asked with a smile, "Do you play cards?"
Zhang Yuxi replied candidly, "I can play a little, but I can also count cards."
This woman is impressively frank! the ladies thought.
Another lady asked, "Besides playing cards, what else can you do?"
Zhang Yuxi thought for a moment. "It seems like there isn’t much else."
From being a teacher, to a principal, to now being the deputy director of the education bureau... besides teaching, it seems there’s nothing else I’m good at.
Mrs. Qin laughed and said, "She’s different from us. She used to be a teacher, educating people for over twenty years. She was a famous principal at Yangcheng University! We’re nothing like that. We just go shopping, get beauty treatments, tend to flowers, and stroll around. All we do is spend money all day without doing anything productive!"
The other ladies laughed along, all agreeing.
They were social butterflies, and while Zhang Yuxi wasn’t skilled at socializing, she was knowledgeable. As long as the topic wasn’t skincare, wellness, or parenting, she could converse about almost anything else. She knew a great deal about investing, business operations, luxury goods, and more.
While the adults mingled, the children also got to know each other. Dabao and Sibao became the center of attention.
The banquet lasted from twelve until two-thirty in the afternoon. Afterward, the women went shopping, while the men went to drink tea and listen to some opera. As for the young people, they were free to go and have fun.
Qin Jiang took Lin Feng and a few friends to a teahouse where they could watch an opera. There was a performance stage in the middle of the teahouse, and the show had already started when they arrived. Lin Feng couldn’t understand the stylized singing. Drinking tea and listening to the performance was secondary; they would talk business later.
Dai Cong sat next to Lin Feng and told him about the opera on stage. "What they’re performing now is ’Plum Blossom Town.’ Later, there will be ’Mu Guiying Takes Command’."
Qin’s father, sitting on the other side, sipped his tea. "When we have some free time, we like to sit here. I don’t know if it’s to your liking."
Although Dai Cong had a full head of silver hair, he seemed very energetic and looked like a particularly kind old man when he smiled. "He hasn’t spent time in Jingcheng, so his interests might be different from ours. Nowadays, young people rarely listen to opera. They prefer to do other things, tinkering with this and that. Qin Jiang told me last time that his father-in-law also produces medicine, and it’s remarkably effective. He showed it to me, and it works much better than the stuff on the market."
Upon hearing this, Lin Feng knew the main topic was at hand.
Dai Cong chuckled. "Qin Jiang and I have been friends for over twenty years, and you’re his in-law, so I won’t beat around the bush with you."
Lin Feng nodded. "What would you like to know, Mr. Dai?"
Dai Cong asked, "Do you practice medicine? Where did you learn?"
Lin Feng smiled lightly. "My younger brother used to be frail, and he was cured by the old traditional Chinese doctors in our hometown. I was in the countryside back then and just picked up a few things. Later, when the children were older and I had time on my hands, I read some medical texts and learned a thing or two."
Dai Cong could hear the pretense in his words. The medicines Lin Feng prepared didn’t seem like the work of someone with only a superficial knowledge. Besides, Lin Feng’s ability to use acupuncture to treat Qin Jiang’s back was something only the retired senior doctors from the hospital could achieve. It was a pity that for all their skill, very few had learned from those old doctors before they passed away.
Dai Cong brought up acupuncture again, and Lin Feng gave a vague story, claiming he learned it from the doctors in his hometown. After all, the old doctors have passed away, so there’s no harm in using them as an excuse.
Dai Cong simply wanted to get to know Lin Feng. He himself had witnessed many talented people in this vast world. He only hoped that he could learn a thing or two about medicine from Lin Feng in the future.
Another one of Qin’s father’s friends, Gao E, was the owner of a pharmaceutical company. He was here to discuss a partnership with Lin Feng. He had his eye on Lin Feng’s hemostatic medicine, and possibly more.
A quarter of all medicine on the market was produced by his company. In addition, the company allocated several billion a year to its research institute. It also had its own flagship product, a medication for allergic skin conditions. Their company’s name was so famous that it would have been difficult for Lin Feng not to have heard of it.
With my current financial capabilities, starting my own pharmaceutical factory would be more than easy enough. However, I lack the necessary connections and the knowledge of the procedures involved.
Gao E showed great sincerity, but Lin Feng didn’t agree immediately, saying he would consider it.
But then, he thought of someone: Erbao! Erbao is going to be the Qin Family’s daughter-in-law. Entrusting this matter to her would be perfect. My success in becoming the richest man was entirely thanks to the system’s help. When it comes to business, Erbao is the one with real talent and experience.
