My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 752
Er Bao called out, "What do you all want to eat? Hurry up and order!"
The others indicated they weren’t fussy; anything would do, as they weren’t picky.
Xiao Bao, munching on snacks, stood to one side. "Second Sister, I want chicken wings, I want ham, I want grilled eggplant..."
After placing the order, they knew it would be a while before the food was ready.
Just then, the owner’s mother came over with a beaming smile. "Ah, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you all! Every one of you has gotten even more handsome."
This stall used to be run by the owner’s parents. As they grew older, they handed it over to their son and daughter-in-law, staying on to help. The elderly lady, who looked to be in her fifties, managed the stall while also looking after her grandson.
She reminisced, "You kids used to love our barbecue so much. You’d come over to buy some whenever you had a free moment!"
Er Bao laughed. "Exactly. Granny, your barbecue is the best. We were regular customers." This remark was directed at Qin Jiang and Shao Yang, and she added with a giggle, "Back then, I really wanted to open my own barbecue shop so I could eat it every day."
Si Bao chimed in, lost in nostalgia, "I remember that! We were even about to look for a location, but in the end, we had to go abroad..."
This was news to Lin Feng. "When did this happen?"
San Bao replied, "It was that time we said we wanted to start a small business and asked you to invest. You gave us ten thousand."
That jogged Lin Feng’s memory. Indeed, that had happened. The ten thousand yuan had been just a token gesture. Er Bao had already earned a good amount from her livestreams and had saved up a decent sum from her design work. On top of that, Da Bao had received substantial rewards from his university and other authorities for his published papers, and San Bao had her own pocket money from performing.
Among them all, Si Bao was the poorest, constantly freeloading off his older siblings.
"I remember you didn’t used to have your stall here. It was at the three-way intersection on that other street, wasn’t it?" Zhang Yuxi, who had been quiet until now, asked. Receiving a nod in reply, she smiled. "It’s great that you have a proper storefront now."
This street had more than one barbecue place; several others were also doing good business.
Before long, the owner brought over the first batch of grilled food. "Start with these. The rest will be ready in a moment!"
It tasted just as good as they remembered. Delicious!
Seeing such a group of handsome men and beautiful women, some of the other customers contemplated striking up a conversation to ask for their contact information. If you were bold enough, it wasn’t impossible to take a shot.
However, anyone who got too close with less-than-pure intentions was met with several swift, icy glares. The sheer pressure and intimidating aura sent them scurrying away. Others simply used ordering barbecue as an excuse to secretly admire the view. After all, when people were that attractive, just looking at them was a feast for the eyes.
After they finished eating, Da Bao paid the bill. The group then headed home.
They only had two cars at the house now, one for Lin Feng and one for Zhang Yuxi. They drove those same cars, which felt quite old now, filling them with a sense of nostalgia.
Er Bao mused aloud, "We need to be more frugal from now on, understand?" She gestured toward her parents. "Look at Mom and Dad. They’re so thrifty they can’t even bear to buy a new car."
Si Bao immediately shot her down. "You’re the biggest spender among us, you know? And you have the nerve to lecture us."
Er Bao’s brow furrowed as she glared at him. "It’s been a while since you’ve had a thrashing. Feeling a little too big for your britches, are we?"
Si Bao, completely undaunted, just snickered. "Oh, I’m so scared. You think you can take me? Look at you, you’ve gotten so fat I can’t even bear to look."
The first part was nothing, but the second part was a fatal blow to Er Bao.
San Bao was a natural, fairy-like beauty, utterly oblivious to her own stunning looks. It was Er Bao who bought all her skincare products and dragged her to skin treatments, terrified that her sister’s perfect little face might be ruined. Thanks to her efforts, San Bao was now finally developing a skincare routine.
As for Er Bao, she was beautiful, but with a gorgeous mother and a breathtakingly beautiful younger sister, her own looks seemed slightly less remarkable. Consequently, she felt that her beauty required meticulous effort and careful grooming. The slightest lapse, and she would be overshadowed by the two "oblivious beauties" in the family. She had to work hard! 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Of course, maintaining one’s figure was a required course for any beauty. Er Bao loved to exercise; she excelled at taekwondo, yoga, swimming, fencing, and horse riding. But even she had moments of weakness, like when she was overwhelmed with work and couldn’t control her cravings. To say she had gotten fat was an overstatement—she’d only gained a tiny bit of weight, it hardly made a difference!
Er Bao figured any girl would be furious to hear a comment like that.
Da Bao was driving their car, with Si Bao in the passenger seat. Qin Jiang and Er Bao were in the back. The moment Si Bao finished his sentence, everyone, including Da Bao behind the wheel, shot him a silent glance. Even Da Bao would never dare to challenge Er Bao on such a topic. Si Bao had clearly never experienced the full extent of Er Bao’s combat prowess.
Qin Jiang coughed lightly. "Si Bao, you’ll never find a girlfriend if you keep talking like that."
Er Bao, reining in her anger, managed a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "I, for one, can’t wait to see what kind of idiot girl would fall for a creature like him."
Si Bao was completely unbothered. "It’s fine. I’m perfectly happy living alone."
"Heh," Er Bao scoffed. "I dare you to try."
When they got home, the people from Lin Feng’s car immediately noticed Er Bao’s foul mood.
Lin Feng shot a questioning glance at Da Bao. *What happened?*
Da Bao tilted his chin towards the oblivious Si Bao. *His fault.*
Er Bao blocked Si Bao’s path. "Come on, let’s have a sparring session. Didn’t you just say I was no match for you? Let’s go!"
Si Bao huffed, putting on his fiercest expression to utter the most cowardly words imaginable. "Fine, as long as brother-in-law stays out of it, let’s go!"
"Don’t worry," Er Bao said with a dangerous smile. "I won’t let him interfere. Come on!"
Si Bao swaggered after her.
Xiao Bao tilted her head. "Is there going to be a show?" That didn’t sound right, so she corrected herself. "Can Second Sister beat Fourth Brother?"
Lin Feng was silent for a moment before replying, "It’ll be a close one."
Zhang Yuxi frowned with concern, but Lin Feng reassured her, telling her to relax and that the kids knew their limits.
In the workout room, Si Bao took off his shoes and waited for Er Bao, adding with his usual punchable cockiness, "Women are so much trouble."
Er Bao had dressed for a day of convenient shopping, wearing flat shoes and a clean, refreshing outfit. Even so, she was still adorned with plenty of jewelry—a necklace, hair clips, rings... Hearing his comment, she ground her teeth and offered a silent, chilling smile.
Everyone else sat in a row to watch. Zhang Yuxi asked, "Si Bao should win, right?"
Xiao Bao giggled. "I think Second Sister will win." She leaned in and whispered, "I think Second Sister is on the verge of snapping." She was genuinely worried for her fourth brother, having to fight someone who’d gone berserk.
Er Bao wrinkled her nose. "Your feet stink."
Si Bao did used to have smelly feet. He had sweaty feet and was always exercising, so the odor had been quite potent since he was a child. No one ever wanted to go into his room. Even Lin Feng, his own father, mostly stayed away once Si Bao got older. After he came back, Lin Feng had gotten him some medicated powder to sprinkle in his foot baths, and after using it for over half a year, the smell was gone. Now, his feet carried a faint licorice scent—definitely not stinky.
Er Bao was just saying it to provoke him.
But Si Bao didn’t get angry at all. He wiggled his feet and said, "Don’t get mad if I accidentally kick you in the face, okay?"
Everyone gasped. What a completely tone-deaf thing to say! He had to be insane.
Er Bao’s smile widened, her eyes curving into happy crescents. "Sure," she purred, her voice practically daring him to try.
They instantly flew at each other. Compared to the constantly training Si Bao, Er Bao was indeed a bit out of practice.
But she had snapped.
In the end, she had Si Bao howling in pain, running for his life and begging for mercy.
"Second Sister, I was wrong! Please stop scratching me, okay?"
"Wrong? You weren’t wrong. How could you possibly be wrong?"
"I really was wrong! I shouldn’t have called you fat! I shouldn’t have threatened to kick you in the face! It’s my fault, I apologize! How can I get you to forgive me?"
"Oh, talking like that is so formal!" she chirped sarcastically. "I don’t need your apology. Beating you up is enough for me."
Si Bao was tough. Even after getting thrashed by Er Bao and sporting a few new marks on his face, he was all smiles. "Second Sister, you must be tired. Later, just tell me what you want, and I’ll buy it for you!"
That finally appeased her. "Fine. You’ll go shopping with me later, and you’ll buy everything I set my eyes on."
Si Bao beamed. "No problem, Sis! No problem at all."
Er Bao yawned. "Mom, Dad, Big Brother, Third Sister, I’m going to bed..."
The spectators dispersed, each heading to their own room.
Zhang Yuxi, however, was still weighed down with worry. "Honey, if Si Bao is like this, how is he ever going to find a girlfriend?"
Lin Feng looked a little troubled himself. "It’s okay, dear. Our family has a vast fortune; someone is bound to be blind enough to fall for him."
Zhang Yuxi gave a helpless laugh. "He’s so grown up already... But I guess Si Bao isn’t entirely without his good points. At least he’s good at sweet-talking girls."
Recalling how Si Bao had just placated Er Bao with his smooth talking, Lin Feng had to agree.
Then, Zhang Yuxi remembered something. "I heard from your mom that Si Bao has been talking to a girl online, someone they introduced him to. We should ask him how that’s going tomorrow."
"Okay."
