My Computer Leads to an Instance Dungeon-Chapter 100 - 91: Fine Car, Beautiful Woman
"What?"
Fang Zhen’s eyes widened when he saw the notification.
’What does that mean?’
’Is the Dungeon Life Game trying to get me to quit?’
He frowned.
The message wasn’t necessarily telling him to quit, but it did make one thing clear.
The Dungeon Life Game believed Fang Zhen’s strength was insufficient—or to be more precise, it might not be enough. He might not be able to clear the dungeon’s third act.
The words were polite, but to put it bluntly, they were saying, ’Kid, you’re not strong enough. Go train some more and come back, or maybe find some help. Otherwise, I’m afraid you’re going to get yourself killed.’
Fang Zhen was a little annoyed when he read it, but he processed his feelings in an instant.
The Dungeon Life Game’s tips had always been pretty on the level.
Back when he first got the game, it had warned him not to choose dungeons that were too difficult, and that he could only select ’Nameless’ or ’Ordinary’ world settings.
All signs indicated that the Dungeon Life Game wasn’t one of those particularly malicious types that seemed unhappy unless the player died.
It was more like a mature, rational older brother or sister figure. It held no ill will, warned you about what might happen, but didn’t try to control you like a parent. The bottom line was, ’I’ve helped you analyze the situation. How you proceed is up to you. If you really want to court death, I won’t stop you.’
It pays to listen to good advice.
Since the Dungeon Life Game had gone out of its way to warn him, it would be foolish for Fang Zhen to ignore it and push back.
But Fang Zhen didn’t want to give up on the subsequent third act of the Redstone Town Mine dungeon either.
His intuition told him that delving deeper and continuously progressing through a single dungeon might yield greater rewards than just scratching the surface of many different ones.
Besides, he was already familiar with Redstone Town. A new dungeon would mean learning a new world, new people, and new rules from scratch. It wouldn’t necessarily be more efficient than tackling the third act.
He wasn’t going to run from it.
’If I’m careful and get some upgrades, clearing Act Three might not be impossible.’
Besides, the name of the third act was ’Fallen Knight.’ While there was no specific information about the boss, the name itself offered some clues.
He made his decision: he would not give up.
’I can rest and buy equipment over the next few days. Don’t I still have nine days left?’
’Actually, I could open a temporary, simpler dungeon. I have enough Merit Points saved up. If I farm an easier dungeon, I can at least get some more skills and Merit Points. That would give me a lot more confidence when I go to tackle the third act, Fallen Knight.’ 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Having made his decision, he stopped agonizing over it.
Fang Zhen picked up his phone, found his friend who made bracelets on WeChat, and sent a message to arrange a meeting. There was no immediate reply, but he wasn’t bothered. He’d just have to wait.
Just then, a wave of hunger and fatigue washed over him.
He had been worried about getting an upset stomach in the dungeon yesterday, so aside from drinking a little Ruska Wine, he hadn’t eaten much—just a couple of Snickers bars.
Although the Guidance Technique could restore some Spiritual Power and stamina, he hadn’t slept well and was still quite tired.
Seeing no new pop-ups in the Dungeon Life Game, Fang Zhen turned off the game peripherals and closed the Light Gate in his living room.
He went out, ordered some takeout, then took off his asbestos suit and riot gear, stripped off the casual clothes underneath, and went to take a shower.
He felt much more refreshed after washing up. He dried himself off, put on a bathrobe, and walked out.
Just then, the takeout arrived.
He collected the food, ate his meal, sat on the sofa for a short while, then returned to his bedroom. He drew the curtains, pulled up the silk comforter, and fell straight to sleep.
...
He didn’t know how long he had slept.
Fang Zhen gradually woke up on his own. He fumbled for his phone on the nightstand, grabbed it, and saw that it was a little past four in the afternoon.
He stretched, rolled out of bed, and prepared to go wash up in the bathroom.
He hadn’t noticed it while lying still, but the moment he moved, he felt a dull ache all over his body. His joints and some of his muscles felt particularly sore and stiff.
"Lactic acid buildup?" The sensation was not unfamiliar to him.
It was the same feeling he got the day after overdoing it at the gym.
Fang Zhen shook his head. ’Lactic acid buildup is not a good thing. It’s uncomfortable and will delay my next dungeon run.’
He thought for a moment and decided to get a massage later to soothe his muscles and relieve the acid buildup.
Besides, he had been fighting so hard in the dungeon for so long that his nerves were completely frayed. He really should find some activity to relax and release some stress.
After washing up, he took his phone to the living room and checked his WeChat.
His friend who did business had replied. He said he was on a business trip in the neighboring city and wouldn’t be back until after midnight. He suggested they meet at nine tomorrow morning.
Fang Zhen casually sent a reply confirming the time.
He wanted to see this friend not only to sell the Cinnabar Ore, but also to ask about channels for buying or selling large quantities of Gold and Silver. He wanted to see if he could find a reliable channel other than jewelry stores and Chen Baokun.
As everyone knows, people in business tend to have wide networks. It would be a waste not to take advantage of having a friend like that.
Since he already had WeChat open, Fang Zhen scrolled through his chat history to see who had messaged him.
After a quick look, he noticed that someone had sent him several messages.
It was from a contact named ’Life is Like a Summer Flower.’ Judging by the profile picture, it looked like a street view photo taken with a phone, possibly of the street where Galeries Lafayette in France is located, angled up toward the sky.
This ’Life is Like a Summer Flower’ had sent several messages.
"Hey~"
"You there?"
"What are you busy with?"
"Huh? You add me as a friend and then just go silent?"
The reason Fang Zhen noticed this contact was because he didn’t recognize the ID. He couldn’t match it to anyone he knew.
’Who is this?’
’When did I add them?’
Fang Zhen checked the time he had added the friend, thought for a moment, and then it hit him.
"I remember now."
"This is that pretty girl with the amazing figure in the leather jacket, the one from the shop when I was buying the dirt bike. Her name was Xia Siwei."
"We said we should hang out sometime, but then I went into the Redstone Town dungeon and completely forgot about her."
Recalling this, Fang Zhen couldn’t help but laugh at himself.
He really was grinding hard. His focus was so completely on the Dungeon Life Game that he had managed to forget about a total knockout like Xia Siwei.
With a smile, he casually replied to her message.
"Been busy with something the last few days, didn’t even have my phone on me. Just saw this."
He had just sent the message when, a few seconds later, a reply from Xia Siwei came through.
"Haha, I thought you were ignoring me. Turns out you were just busy."
"You’re an interesting one. Other guys add me on WeChat and message me almost right away. But you? You just left me hanging for two days."
Seeing Xia Siwei’s message, Fang Zhen chuckled and replied:
"They say that when a man adds a charming woman, it’s best not to message her for 72 hours. Do you know why he should only reply after three days?"
"Why?" As expected, Xia Siwei was curious.
Fang Zhen quickly typed on his keypad, "Because if he replies immediately, it probably means he’s just acting on hormones, overwhelmed by her charm. Chatting after seventy-two hours means he’s calmed down and is still genuinely interested in getting to know her."
"It’s a sign of respect."
"See? I only left you hanging for forty-eight hours. The timing is perfect. It shows respect, but it also admits you’re charming. Isn’t that just right?"
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Xia Siwei sent a line of text, followed by a laughing emoji.
"You’re so interesting. You really know what to say, and you’re quite the gentleman," Xia Siwei messaged.
"What are you doing?" Another message followed immediately.
Fang Zhen was just replying casually without much thought. He typed back directly: "I’m about to go get a massage or a spa treatment."
"Oh? What kind of massage?" Xia Siwei replied.
Fang Zhen raised an eyebrow and sent back a "?"
"What other kind of massage or spa could it be?"
"Just the normal kind."
"Why do I get the feeling your mind is in the gutter?"
"Oh." Xia Siwei replied, immediately followed by another message: "I’ve never tried a massage in this country..."
Fang Zhen couldn’t help but smile when he read that.
’Why does her tone sound like a child who’s sad they haven’t gotten to play with someone else’s toy?’
He thought about it. He was going for a massage anyway, and going alone was a bit boring.
Xia Siwei seemed cheerful and was pretty. Inviting her for a massage shouldn’t be a problem. It would just make things more interesting.
"Come along, I’ll take you."
"I know a place. Their technique is excellent, great for de-stressing and relieving fatigue," Fang Zhen replied.
A few seconds later, Xia Siwei replied: "Okay, okay! Where can I find you?"
"I’ll send you the address on WeChat. Just go straight to the shop, and we’ll meet there," Fang Zhen said, quickly finding the location and sending it to Xia Siwei.
"This place is pretty good. If you like it, you can come often," he sent.
"Great, I’ll drive over now. It should take about twenty minutes. See you at the shop," Xia Siwei replied.
"OKK."
Fang Zhen put down his phone and stretched his arms.
The place he mentioned was indeed good, but not as amazing as he’d hyped it up to be.
The reason he recommended it was because it was especially close to his home.
Fang Zhen’s residential complex in Xiahai was quite nice and conveniently located. He could cut through the complex and exit via another gate, which led directly to a park called Moon Lake. After crossing a waterside pavilion and walking through the park, he would arrive at the shop where he was meeting Xia Siwei.
Fang Zhen got up, changed into some clothes for going out, and went downstairs.
Downstairs, Fang Zhen walked through the complex.
The greenery in the complex was excellent, with shrubbery, cherry blossom trees, and peach trees. A short walk away, the townhouses in the front section even had their own gardens. Many of the ground-floor residents grew Chinese roses and roses.
It was currently the blooming season for the Chinese roses. They blossomed in a variety of colors, looking beautiful and emitting a faint, sweet fragrance. The trees lining the path were also quite tall, providing a cool and pleasant shady canopy.
Sparrows flapped their wings rapidly, flitting from one tree to another. Occasionally, he could also see magpies and other unfamiliar birds with four or five different colors on their feathers, flying among the trees in the complex, chirping with lively, cheerful calls.
Seeing these natural elements, Fang Zhen’s mood gradually relaxed, and even the soreness in his body seemed to lessen.
He walked all the way through the complex to the south gate and used his key card to open the access gate.
Outside the complex was a quiet street lined with many trees that looked like London planes. Across the street was Moon Lake Park, which wasn’t very crowded at the moment.
Fang Zhen entered Moon Lake Park, crossed the waterside pavilion bridge over the lake, walked through the park, and after a little while longer, he saw the appointed spa ahead.
He walked over.
Just as Fang Zhen was approaching the spa, a silver Porsche Macan drove toward him, gradually slowed down, and finally stopped at the spa’s entrance.
The car door opened, and Xia Siwei, dressed in a red dress, got out of the driver’s seat. She waved her right hand at Fang Zhen in greeting.
