My Disciples are Too Idiotic-Chapter 433 - 299: The Items in the Ruined Temple, Are They Worth Money? (Please Subscribe)
Players were naturally oblivious to the situation in this Mountain Range. Their current target was the Nightmares here. Contribution Points are king! Only by clearing the Nightmares in this area could they amass more Contribution Points in hand. They could then use those Contribution Points to enhance their Power. As for purchasing newly-released Items from the version, that was a bit challenging. Apart from those ruthless individuals with a vast number of Contribution Points, other Players truly lacked the confidence to buy them.
But as the clearing of Nightmares continued, Players gradually accumulated more Contribution Points. Some Veteran Players couldn’t resist the temptation to boost their Power. They promptly embarked on their Power enhancement journey!
After the Tribulation Realm, there should have been higher Realms, but with the changes in this world, the original Realms were vastly different from what the Players had imagined.
"Tier One Gene Lock? Is this a new Realm? Why does it feel off?" one Player wondered aloud.
"It’s more than just off; it’s completely beyond our understanding," another exclaimed.
"Wait, there’s something off about this. It was supposed to be about cultivation, but now it seems to have switched to a path of conquering stars and seas," a third mused.
"Holy shit, dude, now that you mention it, I get it too. Isn’t the Gene Lock something from sci-fi plots?" someone else chimed in.
A wave of murmurs and nods spread through the gathered Players.
After breaking through to new Realms, Veteran Players also began to assess their own situations. The Tier One Gene Lock brought about truly unique changes.
Why? The unlocking of the Gene Lock increased Players’ Power severalfold. For instance, casting a Great Fireball that was previously the size of a table could now produce one comparable to a small bedroom.
Damn! Unlocking the Gene Lock is that badass?
Seeing the significant increase in their abilities after this Power boost, several Veteran Players couldn’t contain their excitement and ventured deeper into the Mountain Range.
Joking aside, with such augmented Power, pioneering new territories was the real deal for them. There were no pressing life Tasks at the moment, and not even the Great Inventor was in a hurry to refine Elixirs. So, why should they wait to slowly enhance their Power?
According to past trends, a new Realm-Breaking Pill would take at least a minor version update to appear. Wouldn’t that take several months? The Fifth Test was an entirely new version; they couldn’t possibly wait months just to enhance their Power. Therefore, taking the initiative to use Contribution Points to boost their Power was the best choice.
One Thousand Contribution Points could unlock a Tier One Gene Lock. Tier Two required two thousand, Tier Three needed five thousand, and Tier Four demanded Ten Thousand Contribution Points. Thus, Contribution Points were now the most crucial chip. Spiritual Stones had practically lost all their value!
In the pioneering teams, many Fifth Test Players chose to band together. Now that they had Contribution Points in hand, they could easily afford to purchase some Cultivation Techniques. Fortunately, many Newbie Players also headed to the Contribution Hall, opting to pool their resources and buy Cultivation Techniques to save Contribution Points. As a result, they could save plenty of Contribution Points for Resurrection.
So comfortable!
Of course, plans sometimes couldn’t keep up with changes. There was more than just Nightmares lurking in this Mountain Range!
Deep in the Back Mountain, several Fifth Test Newbie Players stuck together, continually exploring inward, hoping to take advantage of their early start to secure vast benefits. However, things often didn’t go as desired.
Hugging Chang’e and Roasting Jade Rabbit led the way, followed by four other Newbie Players. Along the way, they were fortunate enough to slay a few Nightmares and shared the spoils, each receiving a little over one hundred Contribution Points. To be more efficient, they also bought some Cultivation Techniques right away.
"Captain, there’s a temple ahead!" a Rabbit-eared Girl suddenly halted and announced.
Their team was a diverse racial mix, including a Demon Rabbit from the Demon Race, a Tree Demon from the Demon Race, a Ghost Shark from the Sea Race, and two Humans from the Human Race. The Demon Rabbit tribe was similar to Humans, distinguished by a pair of rabbit ears and a small, fluffy tail. It’s well known that female players are quite popular in some teams, and this Rabbit-eared Girl was firmly protected by the other four.
Following the direction she pointed, Hugging Chang’e and Roasting Jade Rabbit indeed saw a dilapidated temple not far away. It seemed to have been untouched for many years, overrun with cobwebs and in a state of disrepair.
"Be cautious, everyone. Guard against any hidden dangers within this temple," Hugging Chang’e and Roasting Jade Rabbit cautioned. He then placed a hand on the ground, using the Earth Escape Technique to pull a slender Stone Sword from the earth. With a weapon in hand, their hearts settled somewhat. It was important to remember this was the Fifth Test Version, where even Veteran Players could suffer losses, let alone these Newcomers.
Soon, the group approached the Ruined Temple and entered through the doorway. The temple enshrined neither well-known deities nor the objects of worship of other races. Instead, what caught their eye was a large Golden Bell, untainted by dust and shining brightly. Such a bell was usually found in a Temple and rung as a warning signal, but this one was placed on an altar.
As they drew closer, the attributes of the Golden Bell appeared before them. Attributes usually only showed up for game Items.
Could it be... this Golden Bell is a Wilderness Reward? one of them thought.
[Name: Bell.]
[Type: Weapon, Auxiliary.]
[Quality: Epic.]
[Effect: Ring the Bell, and anyone who hears it will lose their sense of hearing. If rung continuously, a curse will strip away all five senses, leading to death in agony.]
