My Dragon Baby and Billionaire Husband-Chapter 747 Cinematic Proposal 2
Si Lisao carried Ye Siyuan on his back, moving briskly as he followed the male and female leads into the kitchen connected to the restaurant.
About twenty other guests followed them into the restaurant.
The first thing everyone did upon entering was to close all the entrance doors to prevent the infected zombies from charging in. Still uneasy, several men moved a few tables to barricade the doors.
The male lead chose the restaurant because it had food, which would ensure their sustenance.
He was comforting the female lead, explaining why the restaurant was the best place to take refuge.
The female lead, saved by the male lead, was filled with gratitude. When she heard his explanation about the restaurant’s ideal location, love began to blossom in her heart. She thought the male lead was not only handsome but also dependable and intelligent in crucial moments.
Si Lisao found a single-seater sofa and placed Ye Siyuan on it. He lowered himself to squat down, took off her shoes, and inspected her ankle. "Where does it hurt?" he asked. "Does this hurt?"
Ye Siyuan nodded. "It hurts, but it’s probably not a real injury; it’s the movie’s interactive experience."
Until that moment, Ye Siyuan’s mind was still clear. She knew she hadn’t really been attacked by zombies but was merely watching a movie. However, the film’s interactivity was so strong that it made her feel as if she were right there, her heart pounding fiercely.
She asked, "What kind of movie is this? Zombie War? Horror Cruise? If I had known it was a horror film, I wouldn’t have watched it. I was really scared to death just now! It’s only just begun; it’s bound to get more terrifying. I thought it was a romance."
Si Lisao smiled and reached out, patting her overly frightened head comfortingly. "It’s not a horror film," he said.
"How is this not scary? Look at the people around us; they’re so scared their capillaries might burst."
"Is it that exaggerated? Can you actually see capillaries bursting?"
"How is that not an exaggeration?"
Ye Siyuan complained, her pink lips pouting. "You must have done this on purpose," she said suspiciously, "deliberately choosing a horror film to scare me so that I’d run into your arms when I got frightened. Don’t think I don’t understand those male tricks."
Si Lisao half-rose, spread his arms, and said with a playful challenge, "Well, are you going to jump in?"
Ye Siyuan immediately threw herself into Si Lisao’s arms, her arms tightly encircling his lean waist. Imitating the female lead, she clung to Si Lisao in exaggerated fright. Here was ’free tofu’ for the taking; it’d be a waste not to indulge.
Her hands even snuck inside Si Lisao’s clothes, groping his smooth back like a little minx, unabashedly taking advantage to comfort her frightened heart.
Si Lisao looked down at her, smiling without a word.
Ye Siyuan, undaunted, continued her exploration.
"Do I have a good figure?" Si Lisao pulled her up, sat down on the sofa himself, and settled her onto his lap.
"Excellent."
Ye Siyuan did not hide her admiration. "I’ve known for a long time that you have a good figure. Every time I saw you, I wanted to touch you, but you were so aloof it was difficult to get close. I could only dream about it."
Now that the aloof god was finally hers, she could touch him whenever she wanted, and she felt incredibly cheerful.
Si Lisao’s eyes narrowed slightly. "When have I ever been aloof?" he countered.
"You’re not aloof?"
Si Lisao’s gaze softened slightly. "Am I?"
"That expression of yours is very aloof. When you don’t smile, you emanate a ’keep out’ aura from the tips of your hair to your toenails, making people back off. Don’t you realize it?"
Si Lisao offered no self-reflection.
Ye Siyuan had it all recorded in her mental notebook and began to bring up old grievances. "Do you remember the Quadripartite Summit after last Christmas? After the meeting, my sister-in-law and I went to the buffet, and I had my eye on the goose barnacles. I hadn’t even made a move when you suddenly reached out and took all the remaining ones! I was practically drooling and so mad I wanted to snatch them from your plate. But you just gave me a cold look, and your aura was so overpowering!"
Si Lisao pursed his lips slightly. "If you had asked then, I would have given you some," he said.
Ye Siyuan rolled her eyes. "I don’t believe that. You would have definitely given me a disdainful look and coolly said, ’What, does Atlantis not even have goose barnacles?’"
Ye Siyuan imitated his aloof manner of speaking, putting on an expression of extreme contempt that amused Si Lisao. He suppressed a smile, his lips curving slightly, and explained, "Actually, at that time, I was trying to get your attention."
"Huh?"
"Perhaps the method was inappropriate," Si Lisao explained. It took Ye Siyuan a few seconds to understand. "So," she said, "you deliberately snatched the food I wanted from right under my nose? Was that to get my attention, or to make me angry? Did you expect me to say, ’Hah, man, you’ve successfully caught my attention’?"
"Wait, why did you want to get my attention?"
Si Lisao’s lips thinned, and he remained silent.
Clearly, he didn’t want to answer her question.
But Ye Siyuan excitedly jumped to conclusions. "Were you attracted to me back then?"
"No," Si Lisao answered straightforwardly, his directness a trait that was both lovable and frustrating.
Ye Siyuan huffed in disappointment. "Then why did you want to attract my attention?"
"I had a bit of a favorable impression."
Si Lisao answered honestly. His fondness for her had begun when Xiaobai was still an egg. Back then, he had seen how carefully she looked after Xiaobai and thought she was a decent girl.
Ye Siyuan wasn’t satisfied. Her pride as his fiancée surfaced as she feigned disappointment. "Oh, so just a *little* favorable impression? Only *that* little, huh?"
Ye Siyuan made a gesture with her fingers to indicate a tiny amount.
Displaying a keen sense of self-preservation, Si Lisao admitted, "A bit more than that."
Ye Siyuan then gestured with her finger to show a tiny amount. "This much?"
"Probably a bit more than that too."
Ye Siyuan stretched out both her hands. "This big?"
"Maybe even a bit bigger than that."
Ye Siyuan was satisfied, grinning from ear to ear. She leaned in and planted a firm kiss on Si Lisao’s left cheek. "Smart boy, you learn quickly!" she said. "So you had such a big favorable impression of me back then. If I had known, I would have been brave enough to go over and snatch the food. Would you have given me all the goose barnacles then?"
"Yes, and I would have invited you to dine with me at my table."
"Wow!"
Ye Siyuan excitedly wrapped her arms around Si Lisao’s neck. "What a pity I didn’t have the foresight!" she mused regretfully. "Otherwise, our kids might already be old enough to run errands! Your way of attracting attention is really... too unconventional. You have to change that in the future."
Ye Siyuan adopted the tone of a wife schooling her husband.
Si Lisao, amused by her bossy tone, rubbed her head indulgently. "Alright," he said. "From now on, if there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, just tell me, and I’ll change."
At that moment, the sound of pounding came from the restaurant door. A wave of fear made Ye Siyuan momentarily forget their sweet exchange. Like the other guests, she stared tensely at the door. Don’t come in, please don’t come in!
