My Dragon King System-Chapter 300: The City Of Angels, AH’ME
The skies of Ah’Me looked like a blend of gold and white, suffused with gentle light that seemed to emanate from everywhere and nowhere at once.
And before them was a massive gate crafted entirely from golden starlight.
This gate was impossibly high, and their edges defined by brilliant points of radiant energy.
For a moment, there was silence. Then the gates began to open. Parting slowly with no sound accompanying their movement.
Golden light spilled outward through the widening gap, and from within that radiance, three figures emerged.
The one at the forefront was Raphael. The Chief Guardian Angel.
He walked down a set of stairs that floated on the sky itself. He wore golden armor with dazzling patterns across his chest and shoulders.
His massive wings spread wide behind him, framing his imposing figure as he descended toward them.
Right now only two of those wings were spread out, as there was no need to have the other four sprout out, given the fact Ah’Me wasn’t under any threat.
Behind him followed two other angels, both clad in similar armor though less significant than Raphael’s. They moved in perfect unison and their expressions were stern and watchful.
Raphael reached the midpoint of the stairs and stopped before the dragons before him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Dragons," he said in greeting and in a calm voice.
Syqora stepped forward from among the group, positioning himself as the one who would speak for them.
Raphael’s eyes moved toward Syqora specifically now, and his expression shifted slightly into something that might have been approval or perhaps mild amusement.
"This is a desirable coincidence," Raphael said. "Considering we ourselves had just decided we were going to pay you dragons a visit."
Syqora inclined his head slightly.
"I hope it is for the same reason we are here," he replied.
Raphael replied, "Hardly," then his gaze turned toward Aiden.
"The Black Dragon housing the power over Cronyssia’s time has done something that warrants our immediate involvement."
Aiden met Raphael’s gaze without any sort of expression on his face even as the Chief Guardian stared at him.
"Hm.. I see" Syqora muttered while in a thoughtful expression.
Thyron shook her head and sighed. Ofcourse there was also going to be a problem with breaking that restriction.
Raphael then back toward Syqora.
"Please, come with me, Michael awaits you all."
Without waiting for a response, Raphael turned and began ascending the floating stairs. The two angels behind him followed immediately, in precise and disciplined movements.
Syqora glanced briefly at Aiden, Thyron, and Orlien before nodding, and Together, they followed Raphael through the gates and into Ah’Me.
The view beyond the gates was breathtaking.
Towering spires of white stone and gold rose toward the heavens. Waterfalls poured down from impossible heights, with their waters having this shimmering appearance as they fell into pools below.
Patterns of golden starlight hung in the air, rotating slowly and forming halos around the great domes and towers throughout the city.
Angels filled the streets and skies. Some walked along bridges made of pure light, while others flew gracefully between towers.
Eventually, they reached the heart of Ah’Me.
A grand palace stood before them now, larger than any structure they had passed thus far. Its central spire stretched upward endlessly, crowned by a halo of golden light .
Eventually, they had all arrived before an open pavilion at the palace’s base. And there, waiting at the center of that pavilion, were two figures.
Michael and Uriel.
Michaelwas tall and regal, with the most commanding presence amongst them. He wore armor like Raphael did, but his was more refined with red gemstones.
His whitish-blonde hair fell past his shoulders, catching the light as he moved slightly to observe their arrival.
Beside him stood Uriel, an angel of the female gender, who held a distinct looking helmet on. She looked elegant and flawless.
As Aiden and the dragons approached, Michael took a step forward.
Then he bowed respectfully before them.
Uriel followed suit immediately after him, inclining her head with equal respect.
The dragons returned the gesture as well.
Then the conversation began in earnest, with Michael taking the lead.
He spoke in a tone that was both calm and firm.
"I understand that you dragons have not come here merely to visit," he said. "A grave matter has come to our knowledge."
Aiden then steps forward tapping syqora lightly on the shoulder while walking past him to face Michael directly. "I believe the one you intend to address is me"
"More specifically, yes but it is word the others have privy to as well" Michael said.
Aiden then replied, "Well let’s get on with it then. Like you’ve said we dragons didn’t come here to pay a mere visit"
"Hmm..." Michael muttered. After a brief pause, the archangel spoke.
"Both our species were given roles. Angels protect the universe from threats beyond it, while dragons watch over what lies within. Neither duty is greater than the other."
Aiden said nothing while staring at Michael and waiting for the point.
Michael continued, "Somehow, you have broken the restriction Father placed on your kind. By doing so, you’ve created a problem that now falls under our responsibility as angels. A threat from outside the universe."
"How so?" Aiden asked, wondering how he could have possibly caused a problem that threatened the universe from beyond it.
"Let me show you," Michael said, laying his palm out before him.
Something like a cloud formed above his palm.
The cloud then parted open to reveal what looked like two blue giant spheres, each one marked with galaxies and stars across its surface. Both spheres floated side by side, connected by a string of energy flowing between them.
These spheres, with entire galaxies and stars within them, were representations of universes.
Michael pointed to one of the spheres.
"This is our universe," he said.
Then he pointed to the other.
"This is also our universe. Both of them are real and co-existing at the same time."
The eyes of the dragons widened at that revelation.
