My Evil Boy Toy-Chapter 258: Drifting Apart
Chapter 258: Drifting Apart
I waited for him to answer. It felt like it was the longest time I waited and the time stopped because of my anticipation.
He was coldly staring at me. And my heart felt a stabbing pain every time he looked at me with disdain. I wanted to rush to his side and embrace him, but I was afraid to get rejected.
"Whatever. Do what you like. I’m so tired of all these dramas." He said.
I kept quiet and was just observing him. He sat on the couch and picked up a magazine to read while I was sitting across from him.
The silence inside our bedroom was deafening. I felt like I was being locked up with a complete stranger. But I had to show him that nothing would change even though he insisted that the other Jayden and the one in front of me were different. One was fake and the other was real.
I decided to stay in our bedroom because of what Alora had suggested. I had to stay close to him and he had to see me at all times so he could notice me.
I took my iPad and started searching the internet about Benjamin. Half a year passed but we never heard anything about Nina’s whereabouts. After she left, we found out she got married to James Santelmo, Paolo Santelmo’s son.
I saw how Andrew’s life turned upside down after learning about the betrayal of his wife and for that my hatred toward Nina grew. How could she do this to her husband? To me and my family? To all of us?
I gritted my teeth when I felt a growing rage in my heart. I took a deep breath to calm myself and focused on searching for Benjamin. But half an hour later, I still had zero lead. I sighed and felt so exhausted. I remember that Jayden would always comfort me whenever I feel stressed. Caden and him were the source of my strength.
I sighed again and then leaned my back when I felt my neck stiffen. My eyes were closed because I didn’t like to see him from the mirrored ceiling of our bedroom.
"Will you stop sighing?" He said, annoyed.
I opened my eyes and tried to avoid looking at him.
"I’m sorry I’m tired." I said.
I heard movements from him and I was surprised when he suddenly stood behind me. I blinked when I saw him looking down at me. His eyes were still the same—no emotions at all.
"If you feel exhausted then take a rest. Stop sighing and whining, it’s annoying. Let me see." He said.
I frowned. I didn’t understand what he wanted to see. He clicked his tongue and then bend forward to grab my iPad.
Ah! He smelled so nice. I bit my lip and wanted to scold myself when I felt the urge to touch him.
’Stop Peggy! Control yourself!" I thought inwardly. fгeewebnovёl.com
"Benjamin Miller." He murmured.
I saw his eyes change. I finally got to see emotion. And it was anger.
"Why don’t you stop looking for him and your friend? Try searching for someone who has a connection to Benjamin or the Santelmo’s. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big shot or just a small pry. A connection is still a connection." He suggested.
I was stunned and was unable to say a word. I just nodded in agreement because I didn’t expect him to give advice
"Now, do that later and cook for me. I’m starving." He said.
"W-What? Cook?" I stuttered.
"Yeah. Your husband wants to eat."
"W-We have servants."
"I want you to cook for me. Is that a problem?"
I wanted to smile when I saw him blush. I saw the Jayden I knew when we were in high school.
I shook my head and stood up. "No problem at all. Let’s go to the kitchen."
"Do I have to come? Can’t you just bring it here?" He said quite annoyed.
He was a lot different from the other him. The other Jayden would happily follow me anywhere without complaints. I felt like we were drifting apart so I had to make sure to spend a lot of time with him.
I heard him sigh. "Fine. But don’t expect me to help."
I smiled and without a word, I took his hand and pulled him out of the bedroom.
"I’ll cook whatever you like. Make a request." I said.
I felt excited because he finally asked me to do something for him. I knew he was annoyed and I felt like seeing me sickened him. But I didn’t care. I made up my mind to make him look at me again with love and affection. I would never believe that his feelings for me suddenly changed.
"Just pasta and a sandwich will do." He said while sitting in front of the kitchen counter.
I nodded and started cooking after putting on an apron. My heart was pounding the whole time because I knew he was observing me. Why did I feel like running away from him instead of getting closer?
I glanced to where he was and caught him staring at me. I sighed and put down the knife to stare back at him.
"If you have something to say then say it. Stop glaring at me. You’re making me uncomfortable." I said, hoping for some sensible response from him.
But instead, he grinned at me and then licked his lips while staring at me.
"Why? You said I’m still me. The only difference is the personality of me and him." He suddenly while walking toward me.
"I have the right to take and claim what’s mine. You have no objection, right?" He continued.
His eyes were full of lust and desire. If he was the Jayden I knew, I would run into his arms and surrender. But the one staring at me was the man with no feeling of compassion.
I took a step backwards and it seemed he didn’t like it. He rushed towards me and before I could run away, he grabbed me by the waist and smirked.
"Don’t you dare walk away from me or you’ll regret the consequences." He said with gritted teeth before crashing my lips with his.
