My Evil Boy Toy-Chapter 268: Unexpected Ally Part 2
Chapter 268: Unexpected Ally Part 2
Paolo Santelmo—the man who made Nina a traitor. He was Nina’s sponsor at Golden Oak High School before she got married to Andrew Cross. He had a deep resentment toward the Wilson Clan and had his chance to take revenge with Nina’s help.
I looked at Jayden upon hearing about Paolo Santelmo. It was still quite a shock to us about the events that happened in the palace. I never wanted to hear the man’s name again because it would just remind us of Nina’s betrayal. And now I know that it was also one of the reasons for Jayden’s frequent switching of personality, I didn’t want anyone to mention about the Santelmo’s, the Rossi’s and even about Nina.
But when I looked at Jayden, he didn’t seem affected and he was calm and quiet.
"Paolo never asked Benjamin his true motive in approaching the princess. He believed that Benjamin was really in love with Catherine. She was indeed pretty and smart. When the two first met, Catherine was in a relationship with Matthew Forelli, your father." The man said while looking at me.
I already knew about the story of my parents and how they met Jayden’s parents. But there was some story that I didn’t know especially involving Jonathan Trekker.
"How is that related to my mother?" Jayden asked.
The real Benjamin looked at my husband and then continued. I knew he had more to say, but Jayden seemed to know all of it and wanted the details he didn’t know.
"When Princess Catherine ran away with Benjamin, he was happy at first, but it all changed when she started going out with different men. Benjamin also found out that she met with Matthew Forelli, which triggered him. Then he realized that the princess was still in love with your father. He found out she was pregnant with Matthew’s child, so Benjamin made a decision that changed all of their lives."
Jayden frowned. "Are you telling me that he ordered those men to kill my mother for revenge?"
The man sighed. "I could not see any other reason. Your parents were close friends of Matthew Forelli."
Jayden gritted his teeth. "You’re saying he killed my mother because his pride was crashed?"
Jayden suddenly became breathless and his eyes gleamed with anger. My heart started pounding as I looked at him. I was afraid that he would switch to another personality that I didn’t know of.
"Love?" I called and then tried to touch his arm.
But I was startled when he banged the table in the center.
"Did he really kill her because of that reason? He just wanted revenge on my wife’s parents?" He asked again.
The man sighed and didn’t look scared of Jayden.
"Again, I am not sure of his reasons. I was just assuming that it was the cause of all of this. He was crazy about money, love and revenge. And the only thing he knew to get all of it was to hurt the people around him."
"He’s not a man who’s capable to love someone. He’s a monster!" Jayden yelled.
Then he stood up and I knew he was beginning to lose his mind. He had hoped for a deeper reason for her mother’s murder, only to know that it was because of a man’s pride.
I was getting anxious when Jayden started pacing back and forth while mumbling something. Tiny droplets of sweat began to appear on his face and his body.
"No. I can’t. I can’t I can’t." He said.
I was unsure what he meant by those words. I was more worried about him than what he was saying.
"Love?" I called him again.
"What’s wrong with him?" The man asked.
"He’s having a panic attack." I said then took his medicine in my bag.
I didn’t want to use it on him again. But I was so scared that he would either create another personality or change into one of them.
But then he turned to me and noticed I was holding the syringe. I bit my lip when he looked at me with disappointment. My heart was in pain seeing him hopeless.
So I did what I had to do. I didn’t want to run away anymore. I took back the syringe inside my bag and stared at him.
"I-I’m here. I would never leave you. Love, we’re here to face your fears." I said and then walked closer to him.
I touched him on his face and smiled with tears flowing from my eyes.
"Tell me what you feel, what’s in your mind. Tell me everything. I want to share your pain. Don’t keep it to yourself. You will never be alone again. Breathe, love. Breathe."
He stared into my eyes and his disappointment was no longer in there. I smiled at him and nodded then gave him a kiss on the lips.
"I love you. I can’t leave without you so please stay with me." I said, afraid that another one of him would come out.
He suddenly pulled me into his arms, embraced me right and kissed me on the top of my head.
"I’m sorry for worrying you." He whispered.
I was so relieved that he calmed down. He didn’t let go of me when he looked at the man again.
"I’m sick because of what happened to my mother. I wanted to know the reason for her death. I heard a lot from different people, but I guess the only one who could answer that is the murderer himself." He said.
The man nodded. "I’m sorry for being insensitive. I’m also desperate like you."
"I’ll help you." Jayden exclaimed.
I tilted my head up and looked at him surprised. "You will?" I asked.
Jayden sighed and smiled at me. "We need people who could help us find him. It’s better to have people on our side who know him. It’ll be easier for us."
I understood what he meant. I wasn’t going to disagree with him though. I wanted to help the man get his family back so I was really glad Jayden accepted the man’s offer. The man also looked happy with Jayden’s decision.
"Thank you! I promise I will do everything to help you catch that man!" He said.
Jayden nodded. "Can you leave us for a moment? I want to see the house with my wife."
