My First Love Died, Now My Step Uncle Wants Me-Chapter 97: Can’t Take It Anymore
Recalling the sensation from just now, Caleb Rhodes felt his body tighten.
It wasn’t nearly enough.
He had always been a cold, dispassionate man. He believed the act between a man and a woman was merely a way of branding the other person as his own. He never expected to lose control like that.
For years, he had harbored a desire to possess Nina Wynn, but he had held off until today because she was too young.
He had originally thought the sensations of sex were just exaggerated talk, but he never imagined it would feel so indescribable.
It wasn’t just the extreme pleasure her body gave him. It was also the feeling that she was now thoroughly marked with his brand. The psychological impact of it was what had made him lose control so completely.
But the memory of that fatal pleasure, that feeling of being enveloped, sent another wave of heat through him.
’But the little thing cried so hard... she must have been in real pain.’
He got up, pulled on his clothes, and reached out to hold Nina.
But he saw her body still trembling faintly, her hands clutching the bedsheets in a death grip.
He knew he had gone too far. Forcing her to turn over, he said in a low voice, "Does it hurt badly? Let me see."
Before he could finish, he saw that her eyes were red and swollen. When she looked at him, it was with deep-seated dread.
She had been afraid of him at times before, but this was completely different. He could feel a terror that came from the depths of her heart.
’She’s treating me like some kind of monster!’
An obscure, unreadable emotion welled up from the bottom of his heart.
His face hardened. "Nina Wynn," he said coldly, "I’m your man. This is something you are expected to endure. Don’t you dare look at me like that!"
As he spoke, he reached out to touch her eyes. Nina flinched visibly and shrank back instinctively.
Caleb’s hand froze in mid-air for half a second, his expression turning ugly.
He narrowed his eyes, staring at her motionlessly.
The skin visible outside the blanket was covered in red marks, especially her neck, where there was almost no unblemished skin left.
He only glanced at them for a moment before his body began to tighten again.
’I can’t stay here any longer.’
’Any longer and I’ll lose control again.’
He leaned down, intending to pick her up, but the moment he touched her, she curled into a ball in terror, clutching the blanket. "Don’t! I’m begging you!"
’It hurts. It really hurts. My body doesn’t even feel like my own anymore!’
Seeing her like this, Caleb frowned slightly and simply scooped her into his arms.
Nina trembled in terror, begging him nonstop, "No more! It hurts too much! I can’t take it!"
Caleb took a deep breath and pulled the blanket off her. "Let me see."
The sight of the raw, swollen flesh made him frown deeply.
’Looks like I really did go too far.’ Even the insides of her thighs were bruised red, and the skin seemed to be broken.
However, he looked away after just a glance. His Adam’s apple bobbed twice, and he quickly wrapped her back up in the blanket.
He picked her up and said in a hoarse voice, "We’re going home."
Just as he stepped out of the bedroom, the door suddenly swung open.
"Nina, you went too far last night! How could you—" Noelle Landon stood in the doorway, her words dying in her throat as she stared at them in astonishment.
She saw Caleb holding someone wrapped in a blanket. The arm exposed to the air was covered in suggestive marks.
Any adult could see what had happened.
Besides, this was Nina’s room. The person in his arms had to be Nina!
Although she knew about Caleb and Nina’s situation, seeing it with her own eyes was completely different from just hearing about it.
She was shocked and stunned. Pointing at Caleb, she stammered, "You two..."
Caleb glanced coolly at her pajamas, then at the wine bottles in the room, and seemed to connect the two unrelated things.
He stared at Noelle and asked coldly, "So you were the one here last night?"
Noelle had no idea what he was talking about. Just as she was about to speak, she saw her friend lift her head and look at her with panicked eyes.
She snorted, not giving Caleb a shred of courtesy. "What’s it to you?"
She glanced at the messy table, and as if understanding something, she said angrily, "So what if we had a few drinks? You’re overstepping your bounds!"
Caleb stared at her motionlessly, as if scrutinizing her words for the truth.
He naturally exuded the powerful aura of a superior, and when he stared at people like this, they often backed down without a fight.
That intense, oppressive gaze made Noelle’s skin crawl, so she resorted to cursing, "What are you looking at? Never seen a woman in pajamas before?"
Caleb retracted his gaze and said coldly, "You left the watch?"
"Watch?"
Noelle froze for a second, then immediately retorted, "If it’s not mine, is it yours?"
Caleb snorted, his gaze losing some of its sharpness. "Swiped it from Nathan Fletcher?"
Noelle flew into a rage. "Even if I cleaned out his entire house, it’s none of your business! And you, you pervert! What did you do to my Nina?"
With that, she lunged forward to grab Nina’s hand. Caleb took a few steps back and said icily, "Take one more step, and I’ll find a reason to have Nathan lock you up for another month."
Noelle was stunned, then furious. Just as she was about to erupt, she saw Nina desperately shaking her head.
The sight of Nina’s red, swollen eyes made her sick with worry. She rushed forward and grabbed Nina. "Nina, are you okay? Did this pervert—"
Nina quickly cut her off. "I’m fine, Noelle. You should go back."
After speaking, she shook her head frantically at her, signaling for her to leave immediately.
But Noelle was truly worried about her, and at the same time, genuinely afraid of Caleb.
Especially after the last time he’d dealt with her harshly, she knew that Caleb and Nathan were cut from the same cloth—they would resort to any means when ruthless.
Moreover, in a place like Elysian City, he could practically blot out the sky with one hand; almost no one could control him.
She bit her lip, glanced worriedly at Nina a few more times, and said nothing more. Stepping back outside the door, she turned and left.
Caleb re-wrapped Nina securely, tucking her exposed hand back into the blanket, and quickly left.
The car was waiting outside. As soon as Caleb got in, he called Warner Zimmerman. "Find a reliable female doctor and have her wait at the house."
No one spoke the entire way. Even Willson Lawson, who was usually talkative, seemed to sense something was wrong and didn’t utter a single word.
A doctor was already waiting at the courtyard house.
She was a middle-aged female doctor, around fifty, who looked very experienced.
Caleb carried Nina straight into the bedroom and said to the doctor who followed them in, "My wife is not doing well. Could you please take a look at her?"
As he spoke, he set Nina down and went to unwrap the blanket, but she held onto it for dear life.
Caleb whispered, "Be good. Don’t move. Let the doctor take a look."
Nina refused to let go.
He had to be patient, coaxing her in a low voice, "You might be hurt. Be good. It’s a female doctor. She’s just going to look, nothing else."
Nina still wouldn’t let go.
Caleb pried her fingers open one by one and unwrapped the blanket.
Nina’s slender body was covered in suggestive red marks, which looked rather alarming against her fair skin.
The older female doctor knew what had happened at a glance.
A young couple had played too rough and someone got hurt. She was used to seeing this sort of thing.
After a careful examination, she prescribed some medication.
"There’s some tearing at the entrance. You need to be more careful in the future. Be gentler during intercourse."
She glanced at Caleb, then added, "There’s a big size difference between you two. You need to exercise some restraint during sex. Don’t just go at it recklessly. With this sort of thing, you have to pay attention to whether she can handle it."
Seeing Caleb’s ugly expression, she softened her tone slightly. "Look for yourself. She’s petite in most places, and you’re a big man. I don’t need to be too blunt for you to understand. If she can’t take it, you have to stop. Otherwise, she’ll get hurt again."
With that said, ignoring Caleb’s darkening face, she handed him the ointment. "If you’re husband and wife, you can apply this for her. It needs to be applied both inside and out. It should take three or four days to heal."
Before she left, she instructed again, "Both inside and out. And no intercourse until she’s fully healed."
After the doctor left, Caleb picked Nina up and carried her to the bathroom.
The bathtub was already filled with hot water and essential oils. A subtle fragrance filled the room, seeping into the space and soothing one’s uneasy emotions.
Caleb carefully placed Nina into the hot water. He heard her soft gasp as she entered the water and knew the wound had started to sting again.
He said in a low voice, "I added lavender essential oil to the water. The pain will fade soon."
Nina didn’t speak or look at him, her head lowered as if lost in thought.
The bathtub was large, so Caleb got in as well.
He took a soft washcloth and began to clean her body, inch by inch.
Her delicate, fair skin was covered with the marks he had left. The more he cleaned, the more he felt he had gone too far.
’I really did lose control.’ Some spots had been sucked so hard the skin had broken.
No wonder she’d flinched in pain the moment she touched the water.
The more he cleaned, the darker his eyes became. He felt her skin was just too delicate. ’Who breaks their skin from just a kiss?’
’If it’s always like this, does that mean she’ll get hurt every time we’re intimate?’
Remembering the doctor’s words, he couldn’t help but frown.
’It’s true, we do seem to be a bit... mismatched. She had an extremely hard time taking me, but I never expected her to actually tear.’
Nina seemed to have reverted to how she was at the very beginning. Whenever he moved, she would start to tremble. It was obvious she was terrified of him.
As his hand slid lower, her body trembled even more violently.
It seemed the defenselessness and attachment she had just begun to build toward him had been utterly destroyed today. It was highly likely they would revert to their original dynamic.
Caleb’s hand paused. He narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, "It won’t be like this again in the future. You won’t get hurt again."
His words only made it worse. Nina trembled more violently and struggled, trying to get out of his embrace.
But there was no escape. He held her in place with one hand, his tone turning a little cold. "The first time is always a bit painful. I’ll be more careful in the future. You’re not allowed to be afraid."
Nina didn’t dare move again, terrified that any movement would provoke him into doing something else.
When he finished cleaning her upper body, he wanted to check the wound again. He lifted her onto the edge of the tub and said in a low voice, "Open up. Let me see how bad the injury is."
Nina was terrified. She clamped her slender legs tightly together and wrapped her arms around her knees, refusing to let him see.
He didn’t force her. He stood up, dried her off with a towel, and lifted her onto the bathroom counter. "Let me see. It’s time to apply the medicine."
Nina refused. She grew agitated, and though she still wouldn’t speak, she kept pushing him away.
His face darkened. "Nina Wynn," he said in a low voice, "I’m your man, what’s there to be shy about? There will be many more times in the future. Are you going to hide forever? For the rest of your life?"
Nina’s eyes flew open, wide with terror.
’Many more times? There will be many more times in the future?’
’Besides, I don’t want to be with him for the rest of my life!’
’I refuse to share a man with someone else!’
’A lifetime is so long! I don’t want to be with him for a lifetime!’
’I don’t want to see him being all lovey-dovey with Rosalind Lowell every day!’
’I don’t want to be stuck in the mud for the rest of my life, like a weed that can never see the sun!’
’A lifetime is too long! I can’t bear it!’
As these thoughts swirled, she lost control and blurted out, "I don’t want to be with you for a lifetime! It’s too long! I can’t bear it!"
Caleb’s gaze instantly turned cold, his expression changing in a flash. "What did you say?"
Nina was overwrought, her voice hoarse and broken as if she were crying. "I can’t bear it anymore! I don’t want to be with you! I don’t want you!"
With that, she pushed him away and tried to get down from the counter, but Caleb held her in place.
He was in a terrible mood as well, but it was clear he was trying his best to hold back.
He gritted his teeth and said, word by word, "Then you’re going to be disappointed. You’re going to be with me for the rest of your life!"
He held her down with one hand, forced her legs apart with the other, and applied the prepared ointment to the wound.
Although his movements were gentle, the wound was incredibly sensitive. She trembled all over from the pain.
After applying the medicine, Caleb picked her up, wrapped her in a bath towel, and carried her back to the room.
A glass of warm milk, just delivered, sat in the room. He picked it up, held it to her lips, and coaxed her softly, "Drink a little. It will help you heal faster."
Nina turned her face away, rolled over with her back to him, and cocooned herself in the blankets.
He knew full well how stubborn she could be, but he wasn’t without anger himself at this moment.
Her words might have been spoken in anger, but he was genuinely furious.
He slammed the glass of milk down. Staring at Nina’s back, his voice was cold and heavy. "Nina Wynn, I don’t care if you meant what you said or not. You’d better prepare yourself to stay by my side. Just try running away!"
’She should be glad the person with her last night was Noelle Landon. If it had been a man, he didn’t know what he might have done.’
Nina said nothing. Her curled-up body trembled slightly, as if she were crying.
Seeing her like that, Caleb remembered the doctor’s words again, and his heart softened a little.
He went to her, lay down beside her, and pulled her, blanket and all, into his arms. Gently patting her back, he said in a low voice, "Don’t run off like that again. And if something’s wrong, you can tell Warner Zimmerman, but you can’t drug her."
Nina remained silent, her heart aching with a hollow pain.
