My Formula 1 System-Chapter 283: S2 Monaco Grand Prix. 3
"...and the greatest motor races begin in five... lights tie! And the Monaco Grand Prix is underway!"
"WOOOOOOOOOOOHH!"
Without delay, the grid got the first launch of the line for the season from Antonio Luigi.
Far back in the pack, in the middle, Luca's tires spun like a motor itself, responding deftly to his Grid Launch Skill that was half completed.
Antonio Luigi maintained the lead against his own teammate, Marko, as the Monaco Grand Prix officially had a racing structure into Street Turn 1.
"...the top 4 as they were, the top 5 as they were, top 7 and 8, but Luca Rennick has cleared off his dust against Luis Dreyer...!"
"...the top 10 changes....!"
"WOOOOOOOOOOOHH!"
[Grid Launch +1]

"That's a very wild start, very wild," Luis Dreyer complained to his team over the radio as Luca filled his view with his Ferrari gearbox. "Look into it."

[10th Position]
In Luca's opinion, Grid Launch was a very impressive Skill, not just because of its simple upper hand, but because of the difference between each value.
Unlike some other Skills, where he couldn't tell the difference between, let's say, (7) and (8) or (9) and (10), Grid Launch was unique in its way, making him feel exactly how he pounced further than before.

So, the first overtake of the season went to Luca. Up ahead, he could see Nyström had overtaken Rice, and Rodnick was now engaged with DiMarco.

After making Street Turn 1, the track unfolded toward the real street complex of Circuit de l'Étoile.
Now, everybody had beared their respective positions on top of their chassis, glowing through the dark night sky.

[You are 0.6 seconds away, host.]
The streets at the first sector of the circuit were too narrow, limiting the chances for an overtake, so Luca had to be careful for even he didn't have the power to expand the track.
He could only search for the best lines to take when an opening presented itself.
Jimmy Damgaard drove proudly and defensively before him. Luca analyzed his Red Bull, realizing it was almost on par with his 92B, but he, Luca, had the edge in certain statistics.
Pressing down on the impressive downforce of his 92B, Luca forced his car to nose in, looking to climb the leaderboard early in the race.
On Damgaard's dashboard, a red arrow pointed to his right, indicating a rival was making a threatening move for his position.
Damgaard already had his eyes on his gearbox cam, so Luca's ambition was on full display.
A haughty, vainglorious 23-year-old, Damgaard scoffed at the sight of Luca and moved his chassis to cover up the lane just as the next turn opened up.
[Turn type: Hairpin] [Angle: 170°] [Braking Point: 200 meters before turn-in] [Recommended Entry Speed: 90 km/h] [Optimal Apex: Outside Late]
[You have reduced speed]
Forced to fall in line behind Damgaard, Luca shifted his focus to defending against Dreyer again as the three cars glided through the tight hairpin, weaving around a magnificent, golden-glowing hotel where people cheered from above.
[Straightaway ahead]
Luca glanced at the leaderboard on his dashboard—another neat technological input by Jackson Racing.
His eyes went to the updated standings:
P5— Marcellus Rodnick ↑
P6— Davide DiMarco ↓
No wonder the cheers had intensified a bit, two great drivers had just engaged in a peak duel, and Rodnick emerged victorious, sending DiMarco behind him using the very straight Luca and the rest were on now.
This was still the first lap, Luca reckoned. Even though it was, he wanted to act with urgency, because he had no doubt his rivals would do the same.
As he slowly exited Turn 3 hairpin, his fingers hovered over the ERS and DRS buttons like a seasoned gamer who knew his pad inside out.
Damgaard maxed out energy output once the straight opened up, his engine screaming the loudest through the night as he surged forward with tremendous speed.
Luca wanted to follow suit and match him, but before he could, a system alert flashed on his HUD, warning him about his own slipstream being exploited.
[Warning: Slipstream Threat Detected]
[Analyzing car behind...]
[Green Red Bull (RB17C)]
[Distance: 0.5s → 0.2s → 0.0s]
[Speed Increase: +11 km/h due to slipstream]
It happened all too fast for Luca. Dreyer took his chance, pulling alongside and seamlessly transitioning his slipstream benefits from Luca's car to Damgaard's.
[11th Position]
"...an incredible racing scene on the first straight there as Luis Dreyer takes back P11! And oh my—he's going for the top 10!"
"...Damgaard will not give it to him into Turn 5!"
Luca saw it unfold before him as Dreyer tried to make his momentum count by committing into the next street bounded by cages.
Damgaard's defiance cost him dearly. He attempted to block Dreyer's path, positioning his car aggressively to defend.
Luca had thought F1 tires were built to withstand immense pressure, but Damgaard's front right reacted just as he believed an F2 tire would. It was instantly distressed by the contact.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOHH!"
"...oof, it looks like there's an issue there for Jimmy Damgaard. We see sparks out of the back of his car...!"
"....there must've been a slight contact there, and Damgaard tries to correct—but he can't!"
Jimmy Damgaard's right front tire let out a cough of smoke as he glided into an escape route, veering away from the track's direction.
"...AND HE'S OFF! JIMMY DAMGAARD IS OFF IN THE OPENING LAP OF THE MONACO GRAND PRIX!"
"WOOOOOOOOOOOHH!"
[10th Position]
