My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady-Chapter 590: The Plan
Chapter 590: Chapter 590: The Plan
The shareholders on Xi Nian’s side, offended by Xi Gu’s shameless remarks, were furious.
One by one, their faces turned crimson, and their expressions darkened indefinitely.
One shareholder could no longer stand it and abruptly stood up, angrily saying, "As a senior veteran of Huanya, I am utterly outraged by this decision. The blood boils within me. I will sell all my shares of Huanya stock, and I absolutely refuse to be enslaved by a shameless mother and son like you."
He truly was a senior veteran of Huanya; since the company’s inception, he had always given his best, holding eight percent of Huanya’s shares, which wasn’t a small amount.
The dividends alone were substantial every year.
But now, by the tone of his voice, he seemed utterly disdainful of these shares.
Zhao Shuqin, without batting an eyelid, said, "If the senior wishes to sell his shares, please consider Huanya first."
The shareholder, furious, flipped his chair and stormed out. Reaching the door and disregarding Zhao Shuqin’s unsightly face, he continued to shame her, "Why should I sell to Huanya? Just because you dropped in out of nowhere?"
Zhao Shuqin’s face contorted as expected.
Many shareholders were indecisive. They were not like the shareholder who had left earlier; they owned a mere fraction of a percent, maybe around one percent—hardly substantial. Without much of a stake, they had none of that resolve, and it seemed Zhao Shuqin had noticed their dilemma.
In a hurry, she said, "If anyone wishes to sell their shares, Huanya will offer a price three percentage points higher than the market rate to buy back the stock. I urge all shareholders to carefully consider this."
Xi Nian saw right through her tactics. She intended to overhaul Huanya from top to bottom and even change the system while she was at it, but did she consider what would happen if this change failed to impress the old man? What would be the consequences?
Or, if something in the plan went wrong, who would take the blame?
Apparently, she hadn’t thought about issues like these, given her simplicity.
The shareholders were murmuring among themselves, unable to make up their minds. Xi Nian stood up and walked out, saying as he did, "If any of you want to sell your shares, now is a good time; the price is right. Otherwise, in a few months, you might find yourselves regretting it."
"Xi Nian, what do you mean by that?" Xi Gu pointed at Xi Nian by the door and roared. Was this a curse for Huanya’s bankruptcy?
Xi Nian turned his face slightly and looked at Xi Gu, whose fury was so intense he couldn’t contain it, and sneered, "Can you double Huanya’s stock price like I can?"
Xi Gu’s face flushed crimson with embarrassment. "Xi Nian, don’t get cocky," he retorted.
Xi Nian shrugged his shoulders, "You’re thinking too much. I’ve never been cocky. I believe it’s my capability. It was expected to turn out this way. If it were you, it probably would have been unexpectedly extraordinary, and sadly, you’ve never managed to do anything even remotely that astonishing."
With that taunting, Xi Gu was left with nowhere to hide his shame.
Xi Nian made him out to be worthless, incompetent in everything he did.
Zhao Shuqin didn’t look any better. Having her son belittled right in front of her was infuriating. Her eyes narrowed, a flash of cruelty and ferocity darting through them rapidly, and the color in her eyes as she stared at Xi Nian’s retreating figure was venomous.
It was frightening just to look at her.
...
Xi Nian simply instructed his assistant to throw away everything from his office. After hanging up the call, he noticed someone tailing him. Tugging at his lips, he sent a message to Bo Yan, "If you can’t save me, this little act I performed today really will be my last."
Bo Yan: Babbling, just go.
Xi Nian’s face darkened, Go? Just how ambiguous was that statement?
Xi Nian: That’s an ominous thing to say.
Bo Yan: "So do you want me to burn some incense for you at the temple?"
Xi Nian: "Scram! I’m starting the mission right now. Is the car ready?"
Bo Yan: "Drive out with confidence, it’s all set, at the usual spot."
Xi Nian: "Got it."
Using a dagger prepared in the car, Xi Nian disassembled his phone, removed the battery and SIM card, and at the corner where the car drove off, tossed them in the green belt; in the blink of an eye, this subtle act was hardly noticeable.
After his car pulled out, three more vehicles followed him.
Glancing at the rearview mirror, Xi Nian slightly curled his lips.
"Nice trick."

Yuran had just finished assembling her Lego when she got up and accidentally stepped on it, scattering the pieces all over the floor. She paused for a moment, which caught Zhizhi’s attention. He glanced at Yuran, worried she might be upset, and quickly put down the Lego he was holding. Walking over to Yuran, he said, "Mommy, Zhizhi will help you put it back together, okay?"
Yuran snapped back to reality, looked at Zhizhi, and smiled, "Okay."
With a hint of unease, she asked, "Baby, were you awake when Daddy left the house?"
Zhizhi nodded, "Daddy said Mommy was tired and should sleep more. He made breakfast before he left and told me to make sure Mommy ate her breakfast. Oh, Mommy hasn’t eaten yet."
Zhizhi, fretting, added, "Daddy told Zhizhi to make sure Mommy ate her breakfast because skipping it is bad for her health."
Touched in her heart, Yuran stroked Zhizhi’s little head and led him by the hand to the dining room, "Alright then, let’s go eat something first and then come back to the Lego."
"Zhizhi will help Mommy."
"Good."
While she was having breakfast, Yuran attempted to call Bo Yan, but no one answered on the other end. Her anxiety grew.
Zhizhi served her breakfast and then went to the living room to turn on the television, quietly flipping through channels.
Suddenly, dire news came from the TV.
"A series of car accidents has occurred on the Sihuan Elevated Road. The identities of the victims are still unclear. Insider sources reveal that the sports car caught in multiple collisions belongs to Xi Nian, the current Junior Mr. Xiaoxi of Huanya. It is still uncertain whether he is alive, pending further confirmation. This is XX reporter, bringing you the news."
The wonton Yuran was about to eat fell back into the bowl. Zhizhi also forgot to keep changing channels and glanced sideways, cautiously calling out, "Mommy..."
Being precocious, he understood the news and had clearly heard that Junior Mr. Xiaoxi Xi Nian, his Uncle Xi Nian, was involved in an accident; the reports were uncertain if he was alive or dead. This meant that his uncle was in trouble, and Mommy must be very upset.
He let go of the remote and ran over to Yuran, grasping her hand, "Mommy, Zhizhi is here."
Yuran collected her thoughts, feeling something about this situation was too simple. Just then, Bo Yan’s call came through and she answered, "Brother Qi, I just saw on the news..."
"It’s a fake," Bo Yan interrupted her.
"Baby, don’t worry, Xi Nian is fine. We’ve thought through the initial plan several times; this is the most straightforward method. The promise he made to you, he will keep it. Rest assured."
The anxiety that Yuran had been carrying fell away, "Then I..."
"You, stay at home and rest. If you get involved in this, it’ll only draw trouble your way. You know, if something happens to you, I don’t know what I would do. For my peace of mind, baby, I need you to endure this, and take good care of yourself."
