My Hitman System-Chapter 150: A Forgotten Man’s Revenge (E)
In Fana's house,
Fana had finished with the dinner preparation and was now going through her script one more time.
She had an audition this week, and with regular practice and Jin's pointers, she was becoming better and better at her role.
While she was immersed in her script, the gem embedded in her bracelet turned transparent, losing its earlier red hue.
Fana kept rehearsing her lines, not knowing that the gem on her wrist had lost its powers.
--------
Meanwhile,
In that quiet parking lot, a while after Tania had gone away, Jin's figure was still lying on the ground. He slowly pushed himself off the ground and got into his car.
He rested his head on the steering wheel and sighed deeply.
The pain had long gone, leaving only clarity in its place. One by one all the decisions he took which led to his present state became vivid to him.
'How could Fana do something so sinister to Diana?' Jin asked himself in both frustration and anger. For some reason, he no longer felt any trace of affection for her and was questioning everything he had done for her all this time.
"Why did I even like her in the first place?" Jin asked himself and was reminded of the scene at Umi where he had lost himself to his desires and slept with Fana.
Jin frowned, thinking about that moment. He couldn't understand why he did what he did that night. Even after that night, things were still repairable, but instead of correcting things, he ended up becoming infatuated with Fana.
'It feels as if, all this while, after meeting with Fana, I was myself at the same time I was not…' Jin thought, looking back on all his actions with Fana.
"Just what was wrong with me?" Jin slammed his steering wheel in frustration, but no answer came to him.
He couldn't understand how he could lose his bearings and make such irrational decisions for a woman.
'If not for my timely arrival, she would have ended her life!' One of Tania's remarks suddenly popped into Jin's mind as anger welled up inside him.
"I'll deal with all these questions later, first I need to hear what excuse Fana has for her actions," Jin started the car and sped towards Fana's place.
---------
'He sure is taking his time returning,' Fana clicked her tongue as she looked at the clock.
It was half past ten and he was still not home. Normally, he was back by half past nine at most.
She waited for another thirty minutes before giving up.
"He should have informed me at least if he was being late, I'll just go and eat dinner first," She thought in frustration.
Just when she sat on the couch with her food, she started playing a web series on the television, the doorbell rang.
Ring Ring
'Yeah right, just when I'm about to relax, you have to come and ruin it!' She complained and got up from her seat.
"I'll be sure to give him a mouthful." Fana walked straight towards the door in anger and opened it.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU-" She stopped halfway, seeing that it was not Jin but a man whom she had never seen before.
"Well, that was easy. I thought I would have to break the door," the man who was leaning against the wall with his hand said.
He had a crooked face and a blood-soaked knife in one of his hands.
Fana immediately tried to close the door, but was overpowered by the man who got inside and locked the door behind him soon after.
"HEL-"
Fana ran for the windows and attempted to call for help, but the man soon caught her from behind and covered her mouth with his hands.
A knife was soon placed on Fana's neck as the man said with a playful grin, "No use calling out for help, I've killed the security guard you had outside your house. Do what I say and I won't kill you, understand?"
Y-yes...I'll do what you say...please don't kill me," Fana begged as tears welled up in her eyes.
The man then removed his bag from his shoulders and took out a rope from it.
While he was doing that, Fana tried to look for an escape, but under the continuous scrutiny of the man, she could do nothing.
The man then used the rope to restrain Fana as he said, "Don't resist, I just want to kidnap you and ask a ransom, your lover, that Jin is quite affluent, right?"
'He really won't kill me?' A wave of relief ran through Fana's mind when she heard the man's words.
She was fully confident that Jin would spend any amount of money to save her life, and therefore, although a little fearful, she didn't show resistance as the man wrapped the rope around her hands and legs.
However, his actions afterwards made Fana furrow her eyebrows. Instead of taking her somewhere else, the man took out a folded tripod from his bag. He then arranged it and placed a camera on it.
"W-What's with the camera? Didn't you say you just wanted ransom?" Fana asked dreadfully as all sorts of uncertainty rose in her mind.
The man snickered when he heard her.
"Hey! Answer me! Why are you laughing?" Fana asked with the last bit of courage she could gather.
He then took out a duct tape from his bag, the next moment and wrapped it around Fana's mouth as she struggled in vain.
"You sure took your time to figure that out. I don't want a ransom but your life," The man remarked with a snicker and made a slight cut on Fana's cheek with his knife.
Feeling the warm blood drip down her cheek, Fana quickly realised that the man was not joking.
'No! No! No! No! This can't be happening!' Fana thought in horror as tears started pouring out of her eyes.
With all her might, she tried to open the ropes on her hands and legs, but she failed.
Her actions only invited an amused chuckle from the man. He ignored her and soon dragged a chair from the dining table and placed it near Fana's struggling figure.
He sat on the chair and adjusted the camera to face him and Fana.
'Jin Blaker, I hope you'll love this recording when you see it' With a sadistic grin, the man reached for the camera's play button.
He spoke to the camera for a while and then turned towards Fana, whose eyes had nothing but fear embedded in them as she saw the man approaching her with that bloody knife in his hand.
She attempted to scream out for help, but only muffled noises escaped from her taped mouth.
'I don't want to die…someone… someone please save me…I can't die before becoming a superstar…please save me…' Fana thought before being drowned in the sea of pain.
—
"FUCK!" Jin slammed his steering wheel in frustration. He had been stuck in this traffic jam for half an hour now, and it showed no signs of ending.
