My Husband, a Marshal: Conquering the Stars with My Culinary Arts-Chapter 716 - 241 Supporting_2
Ke Xing and Miao Miao sat down to rest on a nearby chair, while Du Xixi and Ke Lian led the three children to a large table with the staff. On the table were three scanners, which needed to scan each of the children’s Light Computers.
The Light Computer is equipped to everyone after birth, issued uniformly by the Empire. It contains identity information and serves as each person’s credential for interstellar travel. Without the Light Computer, one is essentially an undocumented individual in interstellar space, much like Miao Miao was before she became a legal citizen of the Blue Star Empire.
As for Yiyi and the others, they were registered in the Star Network by the military hospital at birth. Almost within less than ten minutes of being born, their identity information would be inputted, and the Light Computers would be brought over by special personnel to be placed on the children, essentially never to be taken off for a lifetime.
Du Xixi carefully held Sansi’s small hand and scanned it on the scanner. On the other side, Ke Lian was not as gentle. He grabbed each son’s small hand, scanned it with a "beep," and then let go as if to say "discard it after use," allowing the two children to run wild on their own.
"Please present the children’s birth certificates, nationality certificates, and health reports... to us; we need to verify the information."
Although all the information has already been entered into the Light Computers, for safety, the registration office must match the documented proof with the Light Computer’s electronic information to ensure all details are correct before proceeding with the next registration step.
All the documents were stored in Ke Lian’s Space Button. With a thought of his spiritual power, various information and certificates of the three children appeared on the table, forming three small piles.
The upcoming matters did not require Du Xixi and Ke Lian to worry much. While the staff began verifying the data separately, Du Xixi and Ke Lian also sat down on a nearby chair, with Sansi too young to be left alone, so Du Xixi placed him on her lap.
If Yiyi was too mischievous and Er Er was too reserved, then Sansi seemed like a combination of his two brothers—chatty and laughing every day, noisy when he should be, and quiet when he needed to be. He was a perfectly well-behaved child, though Du Xixi and Ke Lian did not favor him, always striving to keep the balance among their children, preventing any misunderstandings among them.
This was something Du Xixi and Ke Lian agreed upon back when it was just Yiyi and Er Er. They were both only children and didn’t know how families with multiple siblings managed those dynamics, but they wanted to avoid disputes among the siblings from a young age.
Yiyi and Er Er reacted very differently in unfamiliar surroundings. The elder brother curiously ran around, quickly pacing the not-so-large office multiple times, while the younger brother cautiously waited for a while, perhaps making sure of something, and only moved to play when his brother came to pull him along.
After playing for a while, the two brothers somehow ended up near Du Xixi, directly going to "play" with their babbling, drooling younger brother.
"Brother! You’re drooling!" Yiyi exclaimed in surprise, pointing at Sansi, noticing a large drop of saliva slipping from Sansi’s toothless little mouth. He said it loudly, and then rummaged through his pocket, retrieving a clean but slightly wrinkled handkerchief, wiping Sansi’s mouth haphazardly.
Yiyi’s movements were unsteady, but he wiped the drool very cleanly. Du Xixi and Ke Lian, observing Yiyi’s actions, knew he wouldn’t harm his brother, so they didn’t intervene. Once the handkerchief was removed, Sansi’s mouth was free of the wet drool.
Du Xixi laughed, shook Sansi’s little hand with hers, and mimicked the kind of tone Sansi might have, "Thank you, brother!"
"Ah!" Whether Sansi understood or not, as soon as Du Xixi finished speaking, Sansi followed with an "ah," which made Yiyi very excited. The little boy opened his mouth wide, grasped Er Er’s hand with one hand, and gently touched Sansi’s small hand with the other, inserting his index finger into Sansi’s palm.
Sansi felt a warm object in his hand and instinctively clenched it. But to Yiyi, this reflexive response seemed like Sansi was greeting him, making Yiyi even happier as he laughed out, "Sansi grabbed my finger! Look!"
