Chapter 53: Potential Value: Error!

One by one, the saints and emperors stepped through the golden portal.

Some walked in with calm dignity. Others tried to hide their nervousness behind cold expressions. No matter how powerful they were, standing before something that could judge their potential and reshape their destiny made even emperors feel small.

When Alex stepped outside the portal chamber, he noticed someone unexpected waiting there.

Julius.

The President himself stood near the entrance of the Tower of Wish, hands clasped behind his back. His presence alone was enough to keep the more arrogant emperors in check. No one dared cause trouble under his watch.

Alex walked forward and bowed his head slightly.

"Hello, Mr. President. Do you have any advice for me before entering?"

Julius looked at him for a few seconds. His eyes carried depth, as if he were studying something invisible.

"You will enter the tower and arrive in a separate space," Julius said calmly. "There, a white light will scan you. After that, you will be assigned a rank."

He paused briefly.

"Then you will hear a female voice. It will ask you to state your wish. You can say your true desire. Even if it sounds absurd, the voice will try to adjust it into something achievable within the tower’s limits and your rank."

Julius tilted his head slightly.

"Have you thought about what you want?"

Alex smiled faintly.

"Yes. I have."

"Good." Julius nodded. "Then go."

The Tower of Wish stood quietly before them. It was surprisingly simple in appearance. A single story cylindrical structure. No decorations. No intimidating aura.

But the door was open, and from within, an intense white light poured out like liquid sun.

It felt less like a building and more like a gateway into judgment.

Alex turned around one last time.

His mother stood a little behind Anna and the Celestus members.

He walked up to her.

"Mom," he said gently, "ask your wish carefully. Don’t ask anything for me or dad. Ask for something that keeps you strong and healthy. I don’t need anything from you except that."

His voice softened.

"All I have in this world is you. Don’t compromise your own well being for me."

Elizabeth’s eyes trembled. A tear rolled down her cheek before she could stop it.

She smiled anyway.

Anna stepped closer and whispered, "Aunty, you have a good son."

Elizabeth wiped her tear and nodded.

"I know."

Alex gave them one last look, then turned and walked toward the glowing entrance.

The moment he crossed the threshold, the outside world disappeared.

He found himself standing in a completely white room.

Not just white walls. White floor. White ceiling. White air.

It was so bright that it almost erased depth itself.

Then a gentle female voice echoed around him.

[Welcome to the Tower of Wish. I am Elenore, the spirit of the tower. Your scanning begins now.]

A beam of white light descended from above and enveloped him.

It felt warm.

Not painful. Not invasive.

Just... thorough.

Alex stood still, waiting.

A few seconds passed.

Then the light flickered.

[Error]

Alex blinked.

The light flickered harder.

[Error]

[Error]

[Error]

[Potential immeasurable.]

He frowned slightly.

Not found?

[Restarting scanning process.]

The beam intensified again.

[Error]

[Error]

[Error]

The white light began to pulse violently.

[Activating universal potential scale.]

Alex’s eyes narrowed.

Universal scale?

A moment passed.

[Error]

[Error]

[Error]

The light destabilized even more.

[Activating Eternal Race potential scale.]

Alex’s brows rose slightly.

Eternal race?

Another pause.

[Error]

[Error]

[Error]

The entire white room vibrated faintly.

[The individual has surpassed the highest scale of the universe.]

[Transferring data to central command. Please wait.]

Alex stood there in silence.

Somewhere far beyond his perception, something stirred.

In a realm layered above space and time, a presence awakened.

[Error in sector 78 potential measurement. The individual has surpassed universal limit. Inviting Highest Authority to calculate data.]

A long silence followed.

Then something ancient responded.

[Oh? After five million years since his disappearance, someone has appeared who requires multiversal scale measurement? Let me see.]

There was curiosity in that voice. Old and vast.

Then a pause.

[He has surpassed multiversal scale as well. Only hyperversal scale may calculate him. I do not possess authority or mean to use such a scale.]

Another pause.

[The individual possesses hyperversal level potential or above. The universe is bound to fulfill his wish, provided it does not exceed universal capacity.]

Inside the tower, Alex felt none of that conversation directly.

He only noticed that the light gradually stabilized.

His mind raced.

His talents were granted by the universe. Why couldn’t the tower calculate him?

Then realization struck him.

The system.

It had become so natural to him, like breathing, that he almost forgot it existed as something external.

If the system’s origin lay beyond this universe, then of course the tower’s scales would fail.

"So your potential surpasses even eternal standards?" Alex thought quietly. "Where exactly did you come from?"

The white light condensed into a calm glow.

[You possess hyperversal or above potential.]

[You may wish for anything. As long as it does not exceed the capacity of the universe, it will be granted.]

Alex smiled slowly.

"Good."

He had already decided.

"I want you to grant me a soul bound artificial intelligence," he said clearly. "It must grow with me. Only I can command it. It must be capable of connecting to the laws of any world I travel to, providing me with one hundred percent accurate information and processing it to generate optimal solutions."

He needed this.

He did not know how deep Earth truly was. He did not know the limits of the universe. Information was power. A companion that could analyze worlds and laws would be invaluable.

Silence.

[Calculating wish value.]

Seconds stretched.

[Wish exceeds highest universal limit.]

Alex raised an eyebrow.

[The universe can grant you a nascent artificial intelligence.]

[It will begin as a baby entity. You must feed it with data and energy. Once its data capacity surpasses fifty percent, it will connect to the laws of Earth and become fully operational.]

[You cannot receive a fully matured AI immediately.]

Alex crossed his arms slightly.

"Is there a way to accelerate its growth?"

[Travel the world. Gather information. Record knowledge. Absorb data.]

[When data capacity exceeds fifty percent, connection to world laws will activate.]

[Do you wish to proceed or change your request?]

Alex didn’t hesitate.

"Proceed."

Instantly, a small sphere of golden light appeared in front of him.

It hovered for a moment.

Then it shot forward and merged into his chest.

The white room faded.

Alex stood alone again.

He waited.

But nothing happened.

He didn’t feel stronger. Didn’t feel different.

"Did it work?"

He opened his system interface.

There it was.

A new option.

[Soul AI]

His lips curved upward.

He selected it.

[Allow merge with your existence?]

So it hadn’t integrated yet.

"Allow."

A soft warmth spread through his consciousness.

[The Soul AI has merged with you.]

[It is now gathering information from your brain and soul.]

[Information limit: 0.0001%]

Alex froze.

"Wait. What?"

Zero point zero zero zero one percent?

"All the knowledge I’ve accumulated so far only fills that much?"

He let out a low whistle.

"Damn."

That meant the AI’s capacity was absurdly vast.

Which also meant once it matured, it would be terrifying.

The white room dissolved completely.

He found himself stepping back out through the tower entrance.

The light behind him dimmed.

Outside, saints and emperors were waiting or entering the tower. Some stared at him, trying to guess his rank.

Alex didn’t reveal anything.

He simply walked past them calmly.

Inside his mind, he could faintly sense something tiny. Like a newborn presence quietly observing.

A companion.

One that would grow with him.

Good.

He had no intention of stopping now.

He didn’t need to cultivate anymore.

What he needed was mastery of his talents.

Fire.

Light.

Elemental control.

He would acquire skills. Refine them. Synchronize them with his talents.
