Chapter 1063: Chapter 1033: The Real Culprit Is Someone Else

There is a mountain in Qishan Town, named Golden Hook, because it reflects on the lake below, resembling a golden hook.

Qin Liuxi, along with Teng Zhao and Little Ginseng, emerged from the Yin Road, arriving precisely at the lake shore. Although the sky was clear, the lake had frozen due to the harsh weather, yet one side of the mountain was mirrored within it.

"It really does look like a golden hook," Little Ginseng exclaimed, looking around. "But this place is deserted. Where are those girls hidden?"

Qin Liuxi assessed the ice lake before glancing at the Golden Hook Mountain, half-closing her eyes. "Let’s head into the mountain."

Teng Zhao looked at Little Ginseng and said, "Can’t you play your part?"

Little Ginseng hesitated, remembering what Qin Liuxi had said before, then transformed into his original form and slipped into the forest.

"Let’s keep moving," Qin Liuxi said.

Teng Zhao asked, "Aren’t we waiting for him? Could something unexpected happen?"

"He should be at ease in the mountain. If he can’t protect himself then he’s truly wasted a thousand years of cultivation," Qin Liuxi continued walking. "Zhaozhao, rather than relying on others, you should rely on yourself. If you entrust your life to others, you’re letting yourself be controlled. Besides, no one can stay with you forever. What if we all leave? What then!"

Teng Zhao fell silent.

The master and disciple hadn’t walked far when Little Ginseng returned. He said, "There’s a cabin in the mountain, and an old Taoist is cultivating inside, with some unusual activity in recent days."

Qin Liuxi furrowed her brow. An old Taoist?

Something felt off; it shouldn’t be an old Taoist.

Qin Liuxi quickly proceeded along the smooth path on the mountain, her pace swift.

Deep within the mountain, a solitary cabin stood quietly. In winter, the mountain was covered in snow, adding to the tranquility of the cabin—as long as the slightly black mist surrounding it was ignored.

As Qin Liuxi and her group approached, they saw the concentrated yin energy, causing their faces to darken.

"He laid out a Yin Gathering Formation to cultivate Yin Evil. What is he trying to do?" Qin Liuxi coldly eyed the continuously flowing yin energy.

Teng Zhao said, "Master, shall I explore and break this formation first?"

"Be careful." Qin Liuxi didn’t stop him.

Teng Zhao retrieved a palm-sized Purple Gold Compass from the cloth bag slung over his back, observing the pointer spinning non-stop, and walked forward to the left.

Qin Liuxi followed him closely, noting his steady pace, which was right on track, nodding secretly.

Entering the formation, everyone sensed yin energy assailing them from all sides, like icy blades relentlessly slicing their flesh.

"The God of Heavenly Strength, with Xuanwu following behind... Divine light illuminating, Taiyang becoming auspicious, I request the supreme decree, no evils shall invade!" Teng Zhao murmured a spell, surrounding himself with Gang Zheng Qi to fend off the encroaching yin energy.

Qin Liuxi cast a magic over herself and glanced at Little Ginseng, who also used his essence to cultivate protective mana.

Teng Zhao calculated the Array Eye, his face gradually turning pale.

"Point the eight gates, find the Qian Position, open the Sheng Gate," Qin Liuxi instructed upon noticing his pallor.

Teng Zhao paused, looked at the compass, and found the Qian Position she mentioned, then proceeded.

Reaching that position, he took out a talisman from the cloth bag and pressed it onto the spot: "Thunder and Lightning Mother, grant me Divine Power, break!" 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

A boom sounded.

The mountain seemed to tremble slightly.

With the formation broken, the cabin was fully revealed, but before Teng Zhao could rejoice, a needle, thin and black like a hair, fired toward him.

Teng Zhao dodged swiftly as the needle grazed past his ear, releasing a pungent scent that was nauseating.

"Who dares to intrude upon my Master Zi Yang’s cave, leave quickly or else I won’t be polite," a sinister, piercing voice echoed, mysteriously emitting pain in the eardrums.

With the voice, another barrage of Yin Evil hair-thin needles shot toward them.

Qin Liuxi swiftly flicked her sleeve to redirect the needles back and simultaneously hurled two Five Thunders Talismans at the cabin.

Two loud crashes of thunder.

The old wooden cabin exploded with splinters, and a man wearing a black Daoist robe, eerily graceful, rose into the air, his hand swinging a blood-red Soul Summoning Banner: "Blood Banner of Ten Thousand Ghosts, hear my command, manifest swiftly."

The Blood Banner of Ten Thousand Ghosts spun in the air as malicious yin souls emerged, swarming toward Qin Liuxi and her group.

Little Ginseng was almost scared to the point of peeing himself, this was beyond his scope of ability.

Qin Liuxi pulled him behind her, removed the Heavenly Pearl given by Emperor Fengdu from her neck, dispelled the oppressive blood mist, and shattered the yin souls already in close proximity intending to bite them.

A tumultuous wailing!

The ghosts watched intently, yet feared the power emanating from the Heavenly Pearl in her hand, trembling.

The dominion and pressure of the Underworld’s ruler!

The self-proclaimed Purple Sun Demon watched, glaring at the Heavenly Pearl with thousands of runes glowing golden: "Impossible! You can’t fend off my Blood Banner of Ten Thousand Ghosts! What Magic Artifact is that?"

He had never seen such a mighty Heavenly Pearl!

"Guess!" Qin Liuxi chuckled, throwing the Heavenly Pearl into the air: "Emperor Fengdu, Enigmatic God, sovereign across five sacred mountains, sweeping away evil spirits, urgently as commanded!"

The Heavenly Pearl erupted with a blinding golden light, striking the ten thousand ghosts and turning them into blue smoke, their souls scattered.

With a pop, the Blood Banner of Ten Thousand Ghosts fell to the ground, burning spontaneously.

"No!" Purple Sun yelled in hatred and tore off the Yin Bell from his waist, uncorking it and shaking it.

The piercing ghostly screech sounded as though it happened within the eardrum, shocking one’s Divine Soul.

Teng Zhao drew his Qilin dagger, wiped his hand across it, and chanted a Heavenly Master’s spell: "Fur body, fur body, Meng and the Marquis... Strong ghosts beheaded, living ghosts left alone, I summon as the Heavenly Master, Divine Weapons urgent as commanded, vanquish evil!"

The spell finished, and holding the Qilin dagger, he hurled it toward the Purple Sun Demon.

The master and disciple teamed up, causing Master Zi Yang’s expression to change drastically. He reflexively blocked with the Yin Bell; with a ding, the Qilin dagger carved a mark on the bell’s body, redirecting toward his temples. The heated fire essence on the dagger startled him as he blocked again, losing a finger to the dagger.

The intense, burning pain made him roar, falling from the air, glaring at them intently: "Who are you really? We have no quarrel, so why invade?"

Little Ginseng jumped forward; this question was his to answer.

"We are the light of the Righteous Path, illuminating evil!"

Qin Liuxi nudged him aside: "Stop chattering, be off to the side if you’re idle, or find someone."

Little Ginseng awkwardly touched his nose, pinpointing the sound and ran towards the mountain gully.

Qin Liuxi stepped forward, staring at the Purple Sun Demon, and asked, "Why did you abduct the Pure Yin Woman?"

Purple Sun hesitated.

Qin Liuxi gauged his reaction clearly; indeed, it wasn’t his doing!
