My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 119: Buzznet
"No. You’re just horny and lecherous. An erection isn’t enough to prove that I am beautiful." Eva denied vehemently.
With her position still compromised, she first decided to fix it up, getting up from the seat and fixing her messy dress.
Aaron eyed her with both curiosity and amusement, having a ’big’ feeling that she was just fishing for praise at this point, but he decided to bite.
"Is that so? How can I prove it to my lovely lover that I am being as genuine as possible?" He shrugged his shoulders.
Eva eyed him back, her cheeks getting rosier and redder, "I will tell you at night. You better listen properly or I won’t talk to you."
He instantly raised his hands in mock surrender, "I will do as you say ma’am. Please don’t give me a silent treatment."
Eva laughed, leaning back onto her seat and sighing, "Let’s get back to your issue. It’s not nice to stay in the car for so long." she said.
Aaron understood her cue, she still didn’t want to reveal the truth that they were dating, and he also knew that she was still worried about him.
But before he could get even slightly disappointed by her reservations, she leaned closer and held his shirt gently, rubbing and flattening any wrinkle or crease that were on his clothes.
Her huge breasts kept pressing against the tight neck clothes she wore, not giving him even a slightest peek of those divine mountains... but he controlled himself.
She was right, the priority was taking care of that stupid drone, not drowning in lust.
After fixing the creases on his shirt, she moved on to his hair, one hand on his shoulder for support while the other in his head.
Her cheeks were still painted in a rosy blush, her grip tightening on his shoulder as she kept dusting his hair and making them look presentable.
Once she was done, she gave his hair a firm tug from the back, making his head tilt up as she pressed her lips onto his in a gentle peck.
"Looking good." she said softly, blushing even more and making some distance as she yanked open the lever to open her door.
Aaron was left staring at her blankly, touching his lips with a slight smile as she walked out of the car and closed it behind herself, walking towards her friends with a casual look on her face.
She hid her blush perfectly, acting as if no makeout or touching ever took place within the car.
Not wanting to cause suspicion by getting late, Aaron coughed and opened his side of the door, adopting a frustrated expression on his face.
Of course, some part of the frustration was real since he had to be stopped in between and his little brother had to go to sleep yet again after the poor guy had risen, expecting a battle.
He at least had the time to fix it in the car, adjusting its angle so that it didn’t bulge out of his pants when he walked towards them.
"Took quite a while, what did she tell you?" Claire asked casually, acting like nothing was wrong but there was a slight undertone in her voice.
"That it would get leaked and also some dangers that fame could bring." Aaron sighed deeply.
Eva could only look at him with a tiny scoff, feeling amused when she saw him use his ’ignoring the undertones’ technique on Claire.
Till yet it was being used only on her exclusively which made her even more frustrated, but now seeing it happen to her best friend as well, it managed to improve her mood slightly.
Not that there was any need to, since it was already improved enough after what happened in the car.
"Yeah. Fame isn’t always good, but not always bad either." Jaq laughed, slapping Aaron on his back, "We might have a future superstar amongst our midst, girls. Cheer up."
He chuckled at her attempt to lighten the mood.
"True, don’t forget me when you get famous." Eva added to Jaq’s tease.
"Us too!" Katie added, making Lia nod playfully.
Only Claire was still staring at him, sighing, "Keep it under control." she said, no context whatsoever, but Aaron understood what she actually meant, making him snicker inwardly.
He liked it when they got jealous, but he knew to keep it at the level where it wasn’t actually hurtful to the ladies, otherwise he would just be playing with their emotions.
"You’re giving me quite the opposite advice from what Eva told me before." Aaron grinned, teasing her back before adding the context to make it sound less like a taunt and more like an invitation to the important talks:
"She told me that I should go all out since they have found a tiny bit of my peak," he said.
Claire caught the meaning of his words, humming, "That would just highlight you even more.
Right now you’re going to be interesting, sure, many guilds will be interested in you but not to an obnoxious level. If you show more, then more will come. And just so you know, some guilds don’t like to hear a no.
Call it ego, I guess."
Aaron nodded, "She did tell me about that. Then what to do?"
Claire gave a quick glance over the rest of her friends, shrugging, "What can you do? Go with the flow, love. There’s nothing you can do."
Jaq laughed, "Yeah, spotlight begs for your attention, Aaron, don’t keep it waiting."
Aaron rolled his eyes, "I doubt I will be that famous for slaying some weak goblins. Any of you could do it with ease."
"But you’re lower level, and also a man. It’s not the same, you know?" Katie shook her head.
Finally, Eva found the chance to intervene in the conversation, shrugging and saying casually, "He’s actually not that far away from our level. I took him to level up sometimes. He’s just underpracticed. Even when you found us on floor 2 he was overlevelled for that stupid fight."
Claire narrowed her eyes towards Eva for a minor moment, before nodding along and playing with the script that Eva was setting, "He also used the CTC once a while. His friends have deep pockets, apparently."
"Whoaa, are you for real? CTC?" Her friends gasped.
Aaron could only blink in surprise as Claire and Eva calmly handled the talks, debunking their friend’s suspicions and setting a fake feeling that Aaron was actually a powerhouse that didn’t want to reveal more than he needed to.
Though, it surely raised some doubts as to why he only had a few skills when he was supposedly high levelled?
To which, Aaron had a simple excuse under his belt.
He told them that he got lucky. As simple as that.
Everyone knew that skills could be upgraded in the same way that they could be acquired, and if someone was lucky, someone level 100 could have a single skill of level 20 rather than multiple skills of lower proficiencies.
Of course, that was only hypothetical and the odds of that happening were close to 0.
But as long as they weren’t 0, he was in the clear.
And it wasn’t as if he was claiming that all his upgrades went to just one skill. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
He simply claimed that he lucked out on upgrade points to upgrade his reverse senses rather than getting new skills, which would serve greatly in his favour as it gave him an excuse as to why his skill was much more potent than the rest.
Those 3 couldn’t question him too much either since both Eva and Claire had his back, and in addition, they were simply good acquaintances rather than best friends.
They weren’t entitled to ask him about his personal status screen, levels and stats.
With the closer friend circle settled for, the 3 only had to worry about the unknown party that had recorded Aaron’s fight.
Though, it seemed like Jaq had already done some digging when Aaron and Eva were in the car.
"Apparently the drone’s design is quite common but I saw a small crest on its belly, which I recognise." She said calmly.
"Then stop building tension and just tell us." Katie grumbled from the side.
"It’s called theatrics, love. Oh- wait, you wouldn’t know. My bad." Jaq said as she offered her a curt bow.
But just before Katie could retort with her own poison, Claire coughed, "We’re getting off topic right now."
Jaq clapped her hand, nodding, "Right. As I was saying, I recognised that crest. It was from a public information gathering guild called Buzznet."
"What a stupid name." Eva commented.
"Better than Claire’s Cohort in my opinion." Jaq shook her head, "They named it that as they have a net of drones and information, and every news they release becomes a buzz. Something like that."
Everyone froze, turning to Jaq with deadpan expressions.
"Isn’t that even worse for us..."
They thought collectively.
