"Didn’t she say I will be the one carrying you?"

Claire blinked in surprise, her mouth opening and closing as she stared at me speechlessly.

"W-Wait, for real?"

Her gaze widened, flickering between mine and Eva’s. But, it wasn’t just her.

Eva looked at me in surprise too, as she was just joking earlier, not knowing that I might take it seriously.

"Yep, for real."

As if to double down on my take, I leaned forward, gently sliding my arm under her legs while the other went around her shoulders.

I could hear Eva giggling, and Claire’s friend teasing her with some hoots, but I just ignored those and focused on picking Claire’s slender body off the bed.

And despite her overwhelming strength, Claire wasn’t that heavy at all.

If I had to guess, her weight would be around 55-60 kgs, max.

A normal weight for a 5’ 7 feet tall woman, but it was surprising that despite the influx of stats, her body’s weight didn’t change.

"D-Don’t drop me, I don’t want to break any more bones..." Claire warned shyly when she felt herself getting lifted off the bed, slowly at first, until she was firmly in my arms.

"Geez, I won’t." I chuckled at her shyness, this woman didn’t get shy when she was nude or even when I was ogling her unrestricted, but she gets shy about this? 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Though I guess it makes sense.

If I was picked in a princess carry by a sexy goth mommy or something, I would be blushing the hell off.

"Mhm..." Claire trailed off, putting her arms gently around my neck for more support.

Or maybe she was worried about me dropping her.

"Ah shit, I guess I will have to remove the wheelchair from the hospital bill." Eva laughed from the side, poking Claire’s cheeks with her finger, before retracting her hand instantly.

And good thing that she retracted, as Claire suddenly snapped at the place she was poked, fully prepared to bite Eva’s finger off.

"Tsk, you’re carrying a savage beast, be careful." Eva scoffed before walking ahead of us, soon followed by Lia and Katie.

I turned around to see where the hell Jaq was, only to see her with her phone outside, typing down the nurse’s number.

On the way from the hospital room till the gates, Claire kept her head buried in my chest, blushing furiously while mumbling, "So embarrassing..."

As for her friends, they didn’t let go of this chance either, bullying and teasing her the entire way.

"Can I drive?" I asked Claire quietly, when it was just us and her friends had wandered off to finish the discharge process.

In my arms, she shifted and peeked up at me.

Her long, beautiful eyelashes were fluttering, lips puckered slightly as she stared at me with those sexy blue eyes.

She was silent for a while, her lips parted slightly before she grunted softly and buried her head back in my chest.

"Do what you want." she mumbled softly.

Heh, then do what I want I shall!

When Eva and rest returned, I told Eva that Claire allowed me to drive, and she doesn’t need to trouble herself.

"Actually?" Eva was surprised, staring at Claire before teasing once more, "Sweetie are you being threatened? Is this bad man forcing you to say yes?"

"Piss off." Claire grumbled, still not planning to face anyone.

But if it was me, I would do the same.

After all, we were standing in front of the hospital’s gate. Many people were entering and leaving, all of them looking at us at least once, while chuckling and laughing.

"Hahaha," Eva laughed unrestricted, gently slapping Claire on the shoulder which elicited a pained grunt, "I’m going then. Let’s discuss what to do on the phone later, or we can hold a meeting at your place some other time."

Claire hummed in response, "Okay."

Eva turned to me and giggled once before patting my shoulder, "Come I will take you to the car. I have the keys."

Katie, Lia and Jaq offered their own goodwill, wishing Claire a safe journey. And especially stressing over the ’safe journey’ part, before taking off.

For me, I could only watch them with twitching eyelids at their level of distrust about my driving.

Eva led the way, walking into the parking lot before pressing the car keys and opening the passenger door for me.

Nodding gratefully, I gently placed Claire into the seat, making sure that she was comfortable.

"Thanks..." she mumbled with red cheeks, nodding like a hen pecking at food.

"Well I am not interested in your lovey dovey bullshit, catch." Saying that, Eva tossed the car keys in the air before walking away.

I caught it on reflex as her last words landed, "Safe journey~"

Though not as luxurious or costly as Nancy’s car, Claire was sporting a very classy black sedan.

It was quite similar to Eva’s, which made sense as they probably bought them together.

Claire was sitting inside, her right foot was completely plastered from the toes to knee, while the left was just bandaged around the ankle.

Noticing my stare, she glanced at me and softly suggested, "Should I drive...?"

"You drive?" I questioned back with a chuckle, "How will you drive with that leg?" pointed at the plastered right leg.

Claire clicked her tongue in irritation before using her left hand and tried to pull the seatbelt over herself.

But since it was bandaged around the wrist, it was difficult for her to do so.

And of course, being a good boyfriend, I gently slapped off her hand and pulled the seatbelt, moving closer as I hooked it into the groove.

I could feel her breath hitching as she blushed even more, not too used to being pampered, which was quite cute in my opinion.

Our faces were close with me leaning over her, and Claire being pressed into the seat.

So not losing the opportunity, I sealed her lips with mine, closing my eyes as she kissed me back passionately.

"Ready to go home?"
