Chapter 17: 17. Breaking the rules of magic!

I'm proud to say I was stingy in my old life, and I have no intention of letting go of that habit now.

Spending 200 or more points on a single spell? That's insane. If possible, I'd rather keep it under 50 per spell.

Starting with fire magic.

I'd been thinking about this ever since I started using magic. Unlike others who rely on mana and the goddess's blessing, I use my imagination fueled by my Pleasure Points—or at least, that's what my system told me.

But I refuse to be bound by that logic!

Imagining a fireball forming in my palm drains way too many points. So instead, I decided to take a different approach, using all the knowledge from my previous world.

Fire needs oxygen to burn. Instead of conjuring a massive fireball outright, I created a tiny flame and pulled in all the oxygen around me into my palm.

The result was absolutely spectacular.

Boom!

A deafening explosion erupted as I blasted a massive fireball into the sky. It was HUGE!

Ivy's reaction was priceless. Her eyes were wide open, her jaw slack, and I swear I could hear her teeth clattering in disbelief.

"M-M-Master! What was that?!" she stammered, glancing at the smoke that had formed into a dark cloud on the sky.

I chuckled, lying back on the soft grass beside her. "That, my dear Ivy, was my magic."

A proud smile crept onto my face. I knew I could pull it off. And just as I hoped, the massive fireball only consumed 20 points, yet it had far greater destructive power than a standard fire spell that normally eats up 200 points.

"A-Are you sure you're just a D-rank? That was a B—no, an A-rank spell!" Ivy exclaimed. "I didn't even see you chant any incantations. I can't believe it... You're crazy strong!"

We had moved deep into the forest, far from the kingdom, so she could help me train. We set up a small tent, brought enough food and water to last us a day and a half.

"Well... it was my first time pulling off something that impressive. I haven't fully grasped all of it yet, but I'm pumped! I need to learn more! I will break the concept of magic that people believe in!"

I stood up, ready to test something else. More than anything, I wanted to fly.

I'd already tried before, using my imagination to lift off the ground, but I barely managed to float a meter before crashing back down, completely drained of PP.

There has to be a way to fly without burning through all my points and there's only one way to find out.

I closed my eyes and imagined myself soaring into the sky like Superman.

I actually moved!

...For about ten feet before plummeting back down, crashing to the ground with a thud!

My PP dropped from 950 to 300 in an instant.

The hell?!

So I really can't fly? There's got to be a way to do this more efficiently.

"System, help me out here! Stop slacking off," I grumbled internally.

The system scoffed.

[The one slacking off here is you.]

[I told you—if you want my help, complete the training challenges first.]

I groaned. Yesterday, I ran out of that canteen where I was eating with Anna, skipped my training, then met Ivy... and things got a little heated. I completely forgot about my training. Since then, the system had been pissed at me.

"Alright, fine! I'll do the training."

If I had known those words were my suicide note, I wouldn't have said them.

[Run 10km in 15 minutes!]

"What?! I could barely manage 5km yesterday, and now you've doubled it?!" I shouted, earning a confused glance from Ivy.

"You okay, Master? You've been staring blankly, and now you're yelling at yourself..."

"I'm fine, just—"

Damn it! The system was already counting down!

Without further ado, I bolted through the forest like a deer, leaving Ivy stunned. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, my lungs burning like they were on fire.

Then an idea hit me.

If I just heal myself mid-run, I could keep going without getting tired!

I closed my eyes, cast a quick healing spell, and pushed forward even faster.

The system tracked my time and distance. Just as the final twenty seconds ticked down, I reached 5km and collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air. I had did it. I ran 10km in 15 minutes! I felt very proud...

Until—

[Task Failed!]

[Reason: You cheated.]

[No magic should be used during physical training.]

[Penalty: Run 15km in 15 minutes!]

This system is a devil! Why can't it behave like normal systems? Other systems make their wielders instantly OP by giving them skills, buffs, and abilities. But mine? Endless training.

I ran the entire day. And as if that wasn't bad enough, my training regimen now included punching a tree with my bare fists after every run and push-up session.

I barely had time to talk to Ivy until evening, when we finally sat by the fire, cooking our meal.

I was exhausted, and my body was aching all over, but I didn't have enough PP left to heal myself.

"Ivy..." I muttered, watching her cook. She looked up, her massive jugs jiggling beneath the tiny, transparent apron she wore.

"Is something the matter, Master?" she asked sweetly.

Under the fire's glow, she looked even more beautiful. The sight alone ignited something deep inside me.

I smirked. "I'm starving... but I was thinking, can I eat you before the food?"

She blushed, smiling. "I've been waiting for this all day."

Oh? So that's why she wore that sexy apron?

I chuckled. "You perverted old woman."

Without hesitation, I threw myself onto her, connecting her lips with mine, kissing her passionately, sweet and slowly. There was no rush. The night was still young, and in these deep forests, we could do whatever we wanted without a care.

She melted into me, her delicate, mature body soft and luscious in my embrace.

What more could I possibly ask for?
