Chapter 467: Chapter 467: New Boyfriend

The heat pack began to emit warmth, making her stomach feel cozy, and the pain gradually eased. Sheila Yardley curled up on the sofa and unknowingly fell asleep.

Shannon Quinn guessed that Caleb Grant must have gone to find Sheila, but she didn’t know what the two had talked about. When Caleb Grant returned, his face seemed somewhat heavy.

The event was not yet over, but Caleb Grant took Peach and left early.

After the event, Shannon Quinn found Sheila Yardley tidying up backstage: "Elaine, where have you been? I haven’t seen you for such a long time."

Sheila Yardley smiled and replied, "Oh, I felt a bit unwell earlier so I went to the lounge to lie down for a while. I’m fine now. Where’s my brother-in-law and Leo?"

"He took Leo to the restroom. How about we have dinner together later?"

Sheila Yardley pursed her lips, smiling a bit shyly: "...I’ve already made plans with my boyfriend."

"Boyfriend? You’ve found someone?" Shannon Quinn exclaimed in surprise.

She was also wondering to herself if this person might be Caleb Grant.

"Elaine!"

Just as they were talking, a man’s voice called out her name from not far away.

Shannon Quinn turned her head and saw a man in a pinstripe suit waving at them as he quickly approached.

Shannon Quinn tentatively asked Sheila Yardley: "...Is it him?"

Sheila Yardley nodded slightly, bit her lip, and said, "We’ve only been dating for a short time, so I’m not planning to tell Mom yet. Sis, also don’t mention it to her for now."

"Alright, whenever you decide to bring him home for dinner, Mom won’t keep worrying about setting you up on blind dates."

Isaac Sheffield walked over and stood next to Sheila Yardley, smiling as he asked her, "Done for the day?"

Sheila Yardley nodded: "Almost." Then introduced Shannon Quinn, "This is my sister."

Isaac Sheffield smiled at Shannon Quinn and said, "Hello, Mrs. Rhodes."

Shannon Quinn was taken aback for a moment: "Do you know my husband?"

Isaac Sheffield: "We’ve interacted a few times, and the Rhodes family’s reputation is quite prominent. It would be odd not to recognize the Young Master Rhodes."

Shannon Quinn merely smiled. Perhaps she was being overly suspicious, but her first impression was that Isaac Sheffield had quite a few hidden agendas.

Landon Sutton came over with Leo, and Shannon Quinn hadn’t had a chance to speak with her husband yet when Isaac Sheffield proactively extended his hand: "Young Master Rhodes, I’ve heard a lot about you."

Landon Sutton frowned slightly but reached out out of courtesy to shake his hand.

Shannon Quinn then smiled and introduced, "This is Elaine’s new boyfriend."

Landon Sutton was initially surprised, then gave a slight nod. He never showed much enthusiasm toward outsiders.

"Let’s go eat, Leo said he’s hungry."

Shannon Quinn turned her head and asked Sheila Yardley: "Elaine, are you joining us?"

Sheila Yardley smiled and politely declined: "No, I’ll leave a bit later. You all go ahead, don’t worry about me."

Shannon Quinn understood that newly dating couples need time together, so she didn’t insist. After a few pleasantries, she left.

Turning and walking away, Shannon Quinn asked Landon Sutton: "Do you know him? What’s he like?"

Landon Sutton replied without much thought: "Not much."

Shannon Quinn was stunned: "Really? Is his character not good?"

"I’m not familiar with him, but compared to Ronan Rhodes from before, he’s similar, if not worse."

Shannon Quinn immediately felt uneasy and glanced back, seeing Isaac Sheffield helping Sheila Yardley pack up her things. She comforted herself, saying: "...But Ronan Rhodes also changed for the better, right? The past doesn’t define the present. Don’t you think?"

Landon Sutton’s phone rang in his pocket, and as he answered it, the conversation ended there.

"Let me help you move this, it’s so heavy. You just need to ask me for help." Isaac Sheffield took the large cardboard box from Sheila Yardley’s hands.

Sheila Yardley smiled and asked him: "Why did you leave work so early today?"

"I didn’t have much going on. After the meeting, I came over, although I was still late and missed seeing you shine on stage."

"It’s great that you came."

Isaac Sheffield earnestly said: "Elaine, now that we’re a couple, you can expect more from me. Don’t always be afraid to trouble me. I hope you can rely on me more."

Sheila Yardley merely smiled faintly, saying nothing.

Perhaps being alone for so long, she no longer knew how to rely on others.

Before meeting Caleb Grant, she also yearned for a relationship where two people were inseparable and sweet, but now she was unsure how to interact with this person who suddenly entered her life.

She was trying hard to adapt but wasn’t yet completely at ease.

Especially since Caleb Grant’s appearance today disrupted the already not-so-calm waters.

"What would you like to eat tonight?" Isaac Sheffield asked.

Sheila Yardley snapped back to reality and said: "You choose, I’m fine with anything."

"There’s a new Korean restaurant near my office that supposedly has pretty good food. Let’s try it tonight."

"Sure."

Actually, she just wanted to go home, take a hot bath to soak her feet, and then fall asleep.

Isaac Sheffield seemed oblivious to her odd mood. After dinner, he bought movie tickets.

He’s the type who revitalizes the atmosphere and breaks the silence, very proactive in relationships, while Sheila Yardley remains passive yet tries hard to adapt and accept.

She also wanted to change this situation quickly, to free herself from its current troubles.

Winter nights were colder than expected, and because she dressed more lightly for her stage appearance today, the chill was more intense.

Stepping out of the cinema, she wrapped herself tightly in her wool coat, but she couldn’t help shivering.

Isaac Sheffield said, "It’s chilly," and then put on the down jacket he’d taken off earlier in the cinema: "Wait here, I’ll get the car."

"Okay."

It was supposed to be a matter of minutes, but Sheila Yardley stood at the entrance, buffeted by cold wind for almost ten minutes.

The chill made her stomach uncomfortable again.

She took out her phone, about to make a call to ask, when Isaac Sheffield’s car pulled up. He stopped in front of her, rolled down the window, and smiled apologetically: "Ran into a friend over there, chatted for a bit. Sorry for keeping you waiting. Get in."

Sheila Yardley just shook her head with a smile, whispering, "It’s okay," then opened the rear door and got in.

The car’s heating was on, yet her hands and feet, numb from the cold, remained icy for a long time.

"Now that the press conference is over, you shouldn’t be as busy, right?" Isaac Sheffield broke the silence in the car.

Sheila Yardley pulled her gaze back from outside the window and nodded: "Yeah, soon it’s the holiday season."

"Any plans for New Year’s?"

"I’ll probably just stay home with family."

"After New Year, let’s carve out some time to travel abroad? You’ve seemed quite busy lately, and I’d like to take you away to relax a bit."

The car stopped in front of Sheila Yardley’s apartment building. As she picked up her bag to get out, she said, "Let’s talk about it then. I don’t know if I’ll have time then."
