The blade appeared in his hand.It was and Pathetic compared to the creature in front of him.

Inside his mind, Solomon spoke. "You’re really doing this huh."

"Yes." Aldrich muttered

Solomon chuckled and then said

"Very well Then, you better stop thinking like Aldrich, And Think more like me, be brutal"

Aldrich felt the shift within. Solomon’s personality rose to the surface. Not taking over completely. But guiding. Influencing his decisions.

His posture straightened. His grip on the sword became relaxed and more confident.

When he spoke, his voice had changed. It was Smoother and darker.

"Let’s see what you’re made of, shall we?"

The Colossus stopped walking. It was fifty yards away now.It raised one massive arm. Ice formed in its palm. A boulder ten feet across. Made of solid frozen stone.

And then It threw it.The boulder flew through the air it was fast very fast for something that size.Aldrich activated Speed of Hermes.

The world slowed down around him.The boulder moved in slow motion.

And then he ran to the left. Around the boulder. Moving faster than thought.

The boulder smashed into the ground where he’d been standing. The impact created a crater twenty feet wide.

But Aldrich was already moving towards the Colossus.The Colossus raised its foot upwards and then it stomped bring its legs down.The ground erupted. Ice spikes shot upward. Dozens of them. Each one sharp as a blade. Spreading outward in a wave.

Aldrich jumped and immediately used Light Exchange mid air.He quickly swapped positions with a chunk of ice behind the Colossus totally evading its frontal attack completely.

He appeared at the creature’s back. Close enough to its legs.He slashed at its leg with his light sword but the blade struck.

And then it bounced off.

The ice was too hard and too thick.The Colossus turned. Faster than something that size should move.Its arm swinging sideways like swatting a fly.

Aldrich saw it coming and he activated Light Exchange again to avoid the trouble attack.He swapped with another ice chunk and appeared thirty feet away.

Meanwhile the Colossus’s arm smashed through empty air.But the shockwave still hit Aldrich and threw him backwards. He tumbled through the snow, his body rolled over and over and then he came to a stop after hitting his body against an iced out tree.

His ribs ached.His head was spinning.

Inside his mind, Solomon spoke quickly.

"Seems like Physical attacks won’t work. That thing’s armor is too strong. You need something with more power."

Aldrich stood up slowly and said

"Like what?"

"The Threads of Dismantle."

Aldrich raised two fingers forward pointed them ditectly at the Colossus.

"Library of Malevolent Spirit: Threads of Dismantle." He said out loudly

Invisible threads shot forward, dozens of them moving faster than sight.They struck the Colossus’s legs. Its chest. Its arms.

And cut deep into them, cracks appeared in the ice. The Colossus staggered. Its leg buckled slightly.

Aldrich smiled. "That worked."

But then the cracks began to close.The ice was regenerating healing itself and Within seconds, the damage was gone completely just as it came.

Aldrich’s smile faded.

"You’ve got to be kidding me."

The Colossus raised both arms. Ice gathered above its head it was forming and growing a massive spear which was thirty feet long.

It threw it forward,Aldrich didn’t have time to dodge.But He activated Light Exchange and Swapped with ice.

The spear smashed through the spot where he’d been. It embedded itself in the ground.

But Aldrich was breathing hard now. His essence reserves were dropping fast.

Every Light Exchange cost him. Every use of Speed of Hermes drained him.He couldn’t keep this up forever.On the wall, soldiers watched in horror.

One whispered, "He’s going to die out there."

Another said, "We have to help him."

But General Bjorn’s voice cut through the fear. "NO ONE MOVES! That Colossus will kill anyone who gets close. The Prince chose this fight. Let him finish it."

Freya’s hands clenched into fists.

"He can’t win alone."

The twins stood beside her. Astrid’s face was calm and calculating the situation.

"He’s buying us time. The Colossus is focused on him. Not on the wall. Not on the city."

Ingrid’s usual smile was gone.

"But for how long?"

Back on the battlefield, Aldrich circled the Colossus. Trying to find a weakness. Anything but there was nothing.The creature’s body was perfect no joints, no gaps in the armor. Just solid ice and it was learning and adapting.

Every time Aldrich used Light Exchange, the Colossus tracked where he reappeared. It was adapting. Getting faster.The next attack came without warning.

The Colossus opened its mouth.

Freezing mist poured out. A massive cloud. Spreading in all directions.

Aldrich tried to run but the mist was too fast.

It touched his left arm and pain exploded through him. Ice formed on his skin. Spreading and crawling up toward his shoulder.

Aldrich activated the Library of Seraph’s Grace immediately and healing energy flooded the frozen area.The ice cracked and broke off. His arm was free.But it had been close. If the mist had touched his chest, he’d be dead.

He was running out of options and more deadly he was running out of essence, running out of time.The Colossus raised its foot again and brought it down.Straight toward Aldrich who turned to see the gigantic foot dropping on him,He tried to move, tried to activate Light Exchange.But his essence was too low. The ability wouldn’t activate.

His eyes went wide.The foot came down.A shadow fell over him.He raised his arms instinctively. Knowing it wouldn’t help.The impact would crush him. Kill him instantly time seemed to slow.He could see every detail. The ice forming on the Colossus’s foot. The cracks in its surface. The blue light shining from within.

This was it.He was going to die.And then his vision flashed a light filled his eyes and then a text appeared bright and clearly it was the system his Library ability prompting up.
