My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin-Chapter 67: My Boo
One hour later, Lucian’s team returned to the mansion. Lucian, Ashley, Primo, Nolan, Betty, Gustav, and a few guards filled the lobby.
The family of three—Ashley, Lucian, and Primo—sat together, with Lucian taking the head seat while the other two sat on the couch.
The rest stood, having been forced to act as "witnesses."
"Go on," Ashley nodded, urging Lucian to do what needed to be done. "Say it."
Gustav and all the bodyguards present balled their hands into tight fists, glaring at Ashley. They ground their teeth, silently hoping Lucian wouldn’t say what she was forcing him to say.
As for Nolan, he maintained a smile, pleased to see the family of three like this.
I’m glad she caught up with them, he thought. Though I wonder... how she made Red and the others rush like that? 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
In his mind, Red or someone else must have taken the wheel to get her to Lucian in time.
If only Nolan knew why Red and those who rode with her were now in the infirmary.
Betty, on the other hand, pursed her lips and quietly studied everyone. She gulped, sensing the death glares Ashley was receiving. But when her eyes landed on the madam, all she saw was a bright smile as Ashley waited expectantly for Lucian to speak.
Lucian let out a faint exhale as he glanced at his son, then at her. He nodded before finally saying,
"I’m sorry."
The moment those words left his lips, Gustav almost lunged forward to berate Ashley. Good thing the guards beside him grabbed his arm to stop him.
"Sir, please get a hold of yourself," one of the guards whispered.
But Gustav could only see red. "How dare she ask for an apology when she should be the one apologizing first?" he muttered.
Compared to Lucian, Ashley had far more to apologize for!
Ashley already knew that, though, but she was still working on that.
Lucian blinked, as if even saying such simple words surprised him. But when he recovered, he discreetly shifted his gaze toward her.
Much to everyone’s dismay, the second those words left the boss’s mouth, Ashley crossed her arms. Their brows furrowed as she flung one leg over the other and raised her chin high. Every movement of hers practically came with an imaginary squish sound effect.
"I don’t forgive you!" she declared shamelessly.
"Hey—" Gustav seethed, finally unable to hold back. "You said you wanted the master to apologize. Now that he did, what in the world are you talking about?!"
The guards restraining him nodded, clearly unable to stand by while she took advantage of the situation.
Ashley arched a brow at them. "I told him he should say sorry, but I never said I’d forgive him. It’s not that easy!"
"You—"
"Gustav."
Gustav froze at the sharp look from Lucian. Even the guards holding him felt their hearts skip a beat at the expression on their boss’s face.
"This is a family matter," Lucian said calmly. "Do not overstep again."
Gustav opened and closed his mouth before lowering his head. "Yes, Master."
But when he peeked up, the vein on his forehead bulged at the sight of Ashley smiling at him.
You—!
"Anyway, I don’t forgive you... yet," Ashley hummed, looking away almost innocently. "Asking for forgiveness doesn’t mean I am forced to forgive you right away, right? Otherwise, that’s coercion."
Primo nodded in agreement, while Lucian furrowed his brows slightly.
"How do I earn it?" Lucian asked sincerely, looking at her with curiosity.
At that, everyone—including Gustav—turned to Ashley. She better not say something ridiculous.
"Hmm..." she rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
Everyone narrowed their eyes as her lips slowly curled into a smirk.
"I want you to sleep with me!" she announced, raising a finger. "Starting tonight—and every night after this."
For a full minute, silence answered her. Everyone simply stared, speechless. Betty gasped, her hands clamped over her mouth.
Seeing their reactions, Ashley raised a brow.
"What?" she asked innocently, noticing Lucian loosening his tie as he averted his gaze. The tip of his ear a little red.
"Ahem!" Nolan cleared his throat, his fist covering his mouth. Even at his age, he looked flustered by her bold demand. "Madam, I don’t think this is something to discuss with the young master—and all of us—present."
Gustav’s face twitched. "How could you ask the master to pay with his body?" he blurted out.
"Huh?!" Ashley gasped at the accusation, then it hit her. "Oh!"
Slowly, she looked down at Primo, who was staring up at her innocently.
"Ahh... hahaha!" she laughed, waving her hand. "That’s not what I meant! I meant—Lucian’s been sleeping in another room. We’re married. We should share one, right? Primo can stay with us too!"
Primo’s face lit up, only for it to fall when Lucian spoke.
"He couldn’t."
Ashley and Primo turned to Lucian, who had already regained his composure. "Why not?"
"Primo has his own room for a reason," Lucian said calmly. "And he doesn’t like it when others touch his things."
Primo frowned. It was true, though he was still adjusting. He didn’t have much of a choice, especially with how chaotic Ashley could be.
Still, why did it feel like Lucian said that not for him, but for himself?
Primo narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
Meanwhile, the others exchanged looks of disbelief, but Lucian ignored them. As long as Ashley didn’t catch on that he simply didn’t want any disturbances, what others thought didn’t matter.
"Well, I guess... you’re right," she muttered with a nod.
"What else?" Lucian asked. "How do I make it up to you?"
"Let’s see... aside from you moving back into our shared bedroom..." she rubbed her chin again. "Aha! Weekends are for Primo and me!"
Primo shook his head immediately, clearly not welcoming the idea. But Lucian nodded.
"Also," she clapped. "Give me your phone number!"
Lucian tilted his head slightly. Now that she mentioned it, Ashley never had his personal number. He remembered putting it in her phone once, but she deleted it. Not that she ever needed to contact him.
"That’s all!" she said, smiling brightly, satisfied with her conditions.
Everyone could only stare at her, each with a different expression.
"That’s... that’s all?" Betty whispered under her breath, utterly stunned.
This was Ashley’s chance to ask for anything! A yacht, an island—Lucian would’ve given it without question.
And yet, what she asked for was... simple.
Ashley scooted to the corner of the couch, propped her elbow on the armrest, and extended her palm.
"Your phone," she demanded, wiggling her fingers.
Lucian raised a brow before slowly taking his phone out and handing it to her. He watched as she typed something, then dialed a number, making her own phone ring instantly.
"That’s my number!" she said proudly, handing his phone back before saving his contact on hers.
With a bright smile, she held up her phone and showed him the saved name. Lucian narrowed his eyes at the screen:
[My Baby Boo <3]
"..."
Then he checked his own phone and saw what she had saved: [My Boo], but instead of a heart, it was a ghost emoticon at the end.
His eyes softened, and for a brief moment, a faint smile appeared on his face.
