My Servant System-Chapter 1288 - 1287: Short Time No See~!

Upon completion of the final puzzle we were unceremoniously transported out of the trial space and into the blinding, multicolored plane that gifted us our reward, which this time wasn't something tangible like the Mana Crystals had been but instead something that changed about us.

Technically speaking the growth of our Cores was a tangible change but to me it didn't count since I wasn't going to be ripping my own Core out anytime soon to truly perceive it in it's entirety, and I was definitely not going to do that to Jahi or Leone.

The other part of the reward was actually intangible though since it accelerated our mana regeneration by an untold amount, making it easier for us to fill up our newly enhanced Core's and make use of more powerful, deadlier spells whenever and however we wanted.

Like we had come to expect about anything that dealt with our Core's we were made to withstand some substantial pain as the organ within our chest - the one resting right beside our heart - began to expand just a little, swelling in size and pressing against the rest of our organs as our body was made to give way to this decrease of available space.

It hurt like hell, the swelling causing a sharp, numbing pain to spread throughout our torsos like wildfire as everything was shifted around, and I swore I heard my ribs creak a little thanks to the organ pressing against them, but the pain was slowly taken from us as well when the rest of our body changed to accommodate this reward.

This gift we had been given was painful, but it was so very worth the temporary pain when I noticed just how substantial it really was; like I had noticed so many times in my life before, a mere percent increase of something that was already large was mindbogglingly insane, but something that was two to three percent 'larger'?

It was just incredible what that could do, and if before we had something like a bucket of mana to work with we now had a pail; almost the same but bigger, and in the world of magic that increase was beyond substantial.

Especially when the dripping tap that was our regeneration rate was increased to a more stable, steady stream that worked to refill that pail even faster than the bucket had been filled, allowing us to do much more with... well, so much more.

And then just as suddenly as we were swept away to this intriguing, brilliant space that was apparently just filled with goodies we were sent straight back to the real world, where who knows how much time had passed since... honestly we hadn't kept track of time in the trial space.

All we had been doing was going at it like animals, after all, so I had no idea how long we had been there, but I did know that a minute or so after our return and as we were running back towards the camp to rejoin the others I was stopped by an all too familiar, somewhat irritating face.

"Welcome back~ Kat Kat~! Did you miss me~? Did you have an overabundance of fun~?"

As I was mid leap to another rooftop someone wrapped their arms around me and caught me, holding me mid air and startling me for a moment before I felt the familiar sensation of a few dozen snakes flicking their tongues out at my hair and skin, tasting me after so long.

That and the all too familiar sensation of the mark above my womb tingling as the creator of it exerted a little influence over it, making me writhe a little in pleasant agony as the energy within was siphoned out.

"Keep on going, you two~! We just need to have a quick little chat is all~! Be right behind you, I promise~!"

Before either of my lovers could respond to the dripping, sensual voice of Cali, the Arch Fiend just whisked me away and took me someplace else, far away from them and somewhere that she could speak to me and me alone.

The entire time her snakes were hissing at me and poking me, and while they were as pleasant and adorable as ever more of my attention was on the pink skinned Arch Fiend holding me, trying my hardest to ignore how soft her breasts were on my back or how close her hands were to my own.

How delicious she smelt and how warm her touch was as she held me gently, like some sort of Princess... or how she was so assured of herself that she could just kidnap me without any worry at all...

Though she was the one to let me go without any teasing, and that tore through the cloudy, hazy mental state that she unconsciously placed onto people just by existing since it was not like her to give up a 'free meal'.

"What happened, Cali?"

Humming to herself, the Arch Fiend turned from me and just walked along the rooftop, looking out over the city and doing her best to not ever have me in her sightline as she mulled over her answer.

The lack of that answer was grating as she just kept humming and pacing, though before I could snap at her she asked "Did you know that the trials do not discriminate whatsoever?", catching me off guard and making me blink a few times as I tried to understand where this was going.

I knew where it was going in the immediate sense, but the long term was lost to me, and so I just gave her that immediate answer as I replied "So the trials are accessible to you?", which earned me a nod as the Arch Fiend tossed a chunk of Mana Crystal back at me.

One that was pulsing with so much Lightning Mana I was actually burnt upon catching it, so I immediately wrapped it up in my mana and watched in awe as it actually began to gnaw at the Ice around it, melting it away as it sought its freedom.

"They are. I'm certain the creator of them wasn't expecting me to fuck my way through it as a solution, but it's done now. A truce between tribes or whatever, formed from a giant orgy that centered on me. But that is beside the point. I... can enter these trials, Kat."

She finally looked back at me, and her pink eyes were flooded with a sinister yet radiant light of mischief as she smirked at me, her sharp fangs glimmering in the sunlight as she laid that revelation down for me.
