My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 40: Exorcist and Release the Spirits
After witnessing the scene where those men were sexually abusing the two women and the two little girls—a sight that made Dennis nauseous yet left him powerless to act—Daisy Number Seven suddenly raised her hand again. Everything shifted back to the way it was before. The four men vanished, but the two women and the two little girls remained; only now, they were no longer human. They were ghosts, standing frozen in the spot where the sofa had previously been.
"Huh... w... what?" Dennis asked, seeing ghosts for the very first time. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"They come from your dimension and arrived here along with this villa. I am going to set them free so they can return to their own realm," Daisy Number Seven answered.
Dennis turned to look at Daisy, who had returned to normal. Her eyes were back to the way they were, her smile was normal, and he could faintly see her wings and her angel halo despite her disguise.
"Are you... Daisy?" Dennis asked.
"Yep, I’m back. She just borrowed my body to explain things to you. Sorry if she scared you," Daisy Number Seven replied.
"I wasn’t scared... but I was shocked to death and got the creeps. So, what about them?" Dennis said, still trembling but feeling a bit relieved as he pointed toward the ghosts in front of him.
"Let me be the one to set them free," Daisy Number Seven said.
Then, Daisy walked forward, letting go of Dennis’s hand and leaving him standing alone. "Shiiing," a massive, long black scythe appeared in Daisy’s hand as she approached the four ghosts, who remained still, staring down at the floor in one direction. Dennis slowly stepped forward toward Daisy, his heart full of questions. He was still thinking about what Daisy had said while she was possessed—the plea for him to help free this world from darkness, a task that seemed impossible.
"Me? I have to free this world from darkness? What does that even mean?" Dennis asked himself.
"Clack," Dennis heard a sound in front of him. He saw Daisy crouching, using her scythe as a support to stand. Dennis approached her and looked at what she was staring at. He was shocked to see an open hatch in the floor that led directly to a sea that looked dark and thick; a fishy, metallic stench wafted up from inside.
"Huh... how can that lead straight to the ocean?" Dennis asked.
"Like I said, this villa isn’t from this dimension. I’m going to set it free. Step back a bit, dear," Daisy replied, standing up and gripping her scythe.
Dennis stood up and backed away. The four ghosts also floated over to stand beside Dennis, making his skin crawl as he swallowed hard, trying his best not to let his imagination run wild. Daisy spun her scythe and wiped the blade, causing it to glow with a brilliant light. Then, she plunged the scythe into the hole in the floor and "kyaaaaa," the screams of a massive crowd erupted from the hole, echoing throughout the entire villa.
The atmosphere was chilling and horrific, exactly like being inside a horror movie about an exorcism. A pillar of reddish-black light blasted out of the hole like a column, and countless shadows of terrifying faces—men and women who looked like demons—poured out of the opening.
They tore through the ceiling and kept going, piercing through the dome that shielded Emerald City. Dennis could only watch in silence, while the ghosts huddled close to him as if clinging to him, even though their hands passed right through his body.
Before long, all the evil spirits or demons inside the hole shot out, soaring along with the pillar of light, which gradually thinned and then disappeared completely. Daisy pulled her scythe out of the hole, and instantly, the opening vanished, turning back into the floor. Dennis looked relieved, but suddenly he felt a chill. Slowly, he turned to look to his side and then behind him.
It wasn’t just the original four ghosts standing near him; behind him, there was a massive crowd of ghosts—young girls and boys, teenage men and women, and several adults. There were hundreds of them, so tightly packed that their bodies seemed to merge into a blur, leaving only their heads clearly visible.
"Whoaaah," Dennis cried out, spinning around and backing away.
But as Dennis looked closely at the faces of the ghosts, he realized they looked relieved and were smiling. Their bodies began to glow, and one by one, they turned into orbs of light like fireflies, floating up toward the sky and passing through the roof.
"They are free now. The emotions and grudges that bound them have all been released, so they can finally go home to heaven," Daisy said, standing beside Dennis.
"I see... yeah... thank goodness," Dennis said, his heart still pounding as he tried his best to process the scene unfolding before his eyes.
Daisy Number Seven held Dennis’s hand and leaned against him as she made her massive scythe vanish. They simply watched the spirits before them turn into orbs of light and float into the air after bowing to thank the two of them. When only the two women and the two little girls from earlier remained, Dennis realized that the spirit of the teenage girl smiling in front of him looked exactly like Daisy. He turned to look at Daisy and then back at the spirit.
"Daisy, is she...?" Dennis asked.
"Yes, she is my older sister. She disappeared when she was 13, and she was the one who called me and borrowed my body just now. But as far as I know... I don’t have any siblings. We all hold the memories of Number One, the primary. To be honest, I don’t understand it myself," Daisy answered.
Dennis was instantly shocked. He turned to look at Daisy and noticed his wife was still staring ahead, watching the four spirits who seemed to be talking to her.
"Hold on, could it be that she also comes from the same dimension as me? It’s possible. I don’t actually remember myself, but I can still feel that something is different because I played that game and I understand that this world is a game world mixed with reality," Dennis muttered inside his head. "Earlier, when your body was being borrowed, do you remember what you said?" Dennis asked.
"It’s a bit fuzzy. I understand the situation, but I don’t remember exactly. Why?" Daisy asked.
"Do you remember saying that these ghosts come from another dimension? The same dimension as me?" Dennis asked.
"Hmm... I know they come from another dimension, but do you really come from another dimension, dear?" Daisy Number Seven asked.
"Hmm... I see. Of course I come from this dimension, don’t worry about it," Dennis said. "So that’s how it is. She doesn’t remember what she said, but she knows... this is strange, and it looks like I need to look into this, because I know Daisy existed in my previous dimension, even if I don’t remember it clearly and I don’t know if she’s right or not—she remembers having an older sister in the previous dimension," Dennis said inside his head.
After the four ghosts in front of them turned into orbs of light, floated into the air, and disappeared through the roof, the entire villa fell back into darkness. But this time, the atmosphere wasn’t suffocating like before; instead, it felt clean, though still uncomfortable because of the emptiness.
"Come on, let’s go home," Daisy Number Seven suggested.
"Yeah, let’s go," Dennis replied.
They walked out of the villa. As Dennis walked, he took a moment to turn back and look at the entire building from the outside. Of course, he now recognized the striped building behind him; it clearly originated from an island in his previous dimension owned by a pedophile and human trafficker.
That criminal had been caught and was believed to have died in prison, though it wasn’t certain because there were still signs he was alive, and the man had an incredibly powerful network that remained untraced. Dennis started walking again while holding hands with Daisy Number Seven, who seemed cheerful and relaxed, as if nothing had happened.
"She’s back to her old self and has forgotten everything... Number Seven is truly strange. I have no idea what will happen next, but because of this, it looks like I have to start finding out more about this world. To be honest, there’s a knot in my gut that makes me uncomfortable. I have to know what Daisy and I are actually up against right now in this world," Dennis said in his heart.
"Dear," Daisy Number Seven said, calling out to Dennis.
When Dennis turned his head, Daisy suddenly lunged forward and kissed him right on the lips. Of course, Dennis caught her by the waist. Then, Dennis slowly pulled away from the kiss and stared at Daisy,
"Hey, what if someone sees us?" Dennis asked.
"It’s fine, isn’t it? It’s deserted. Um... how about over there?" Daisy asked, pointing toward the bushes. Her intention was crystal clear.
"Hah... don’t be ridiculous. Just be patient until we get back to the room," Dennis answered.
"I can’t. I want to do it now. Come on, dear," Daisy Number Seven urged.
"Man... you’re something else," Dennis muttered, confused as he glanced to his left and right.
But suddenly, Daisy kissed him again, and this time it truly made Dennis’s mind go blank from the heat of her kiss. Eventually, one thing led to another even though they were still on the path, and they quickly hid behind the bushes at the side of the road.
