He was seriously injured, but the first thing he did when he woke up was to worry about her instead of himself.

"You’re seriously injured, Dr. Mo said you can’t move for the next few days."

Jared Quinn raised his head slightly, his gaze sweeping over his body, which was mostly wrapped up by Dr. Mo, in pure white bandages, looking incredibly ugly.

What the hell! Jared’s large hand immediately reached over to remove the bandages wrapped around him. Who dared to make such a decision and wrap him in so many bandages!

"Jared," Melody Thorne’s hand quickly covered his, "You must not move, do you hear me? You’re injured now, you absolutely cannot touch these!"

"Are you worried about me?" Jared’s gaze was like a whirlpool, mesmerizing as he stared at her.

That look made her a bit uncomfortable.

Melody’s heart thumped a few times, her gaze meeting his without denying, "I am worried about you."

Jared stared at Melody, while she stared back at him. Both clearly saw the presence of the other in their eyes.

Jared was somewhat disoriented, thinking he must be mistaken. But when he looked again, it was even clearer; he could clearly see his presence in her eyes, something he hadn’t seen for a long time.

"Melody," Jared unknowingly pulled back his large hand and instead held her arm, "Don’t close your eyes, do you hear me?"

"Why?"

"Because I exist in your eyes."

Melody blinked and then chuckled.

"Here," she pointed to her eyes, "you will always be there."

Jared tightened his grip on her wrist, "Really?"

Melody gently disengaged his fingers from her wrist, one by one, raising her hand to unbutton her clothes, intending to climb onto Jared’s hospital bed to rest for a while.

But the moment she undid only one button, just slightly revealing her skin, Jared’s gaze became dangerous, filled with desire...

In an instant, Melody stopped and buttoned back up what she’d just undone. The uniform from the hotel front desk was blue, hugging her waist tightly, fitting her perfectly with just the right curves, looking incredibly enticing from any angle, especially the small section of bare, jade-like leg showing beneath the short skirt.

Jared’s sexy Adam’s apple moved up and down. Looking at her, there’s no way he could be denied anything, not even abstinence.

How had he managed not to touch her after all this time married?

Melody turned around to leave.

"Where are you going?" Jared’s large hand immediately grabbed her arm, questioning out loud.

Melody turned back, "My clothes are dirty, all covered in dust, and so am I. I wanted to take a shower. Be good, wait for me here for a moment."

She mimicked the way he sometimes coaxed her, as if comforting a child without a sense of security.

Jared: "..."

Dr. Mo had just asked someone to prepare a change of clothes, but she was worried about when Jared would wake up, so she hadn’t changed yet.

In the wardrobe, there were even pajamas prepared by Dr. Mo.

Melody took a set and entered the bathroom. The room they were in was the hospital’s largest suite, equipped with everything. Its luxury rivaled that of the Quinn Family’s villa, and only when Jared was injured could he occupy it alone.

After removing her clothes, Melody looked in the mirror. Except for some scrapes on her back, everything else about her was fine. After showering, she changed into pajamas and opened the door, meeting Jared’s gaze that had been fixed on the bathroom.
