My System Just Exploded, And You Ask Me to Become a God?-Chapter 29 --Gatekeeper Leit
Chapter 29 -29-Gatekeeper Leit
Everyone's hearts were on edge—
None of them had expected the Ilan Manuscript to actually appear!
Inside Ilan's Study Hall, the crowd went into a frenzy, desperately searching for any trace of the Ilan Manuscript.
Only Joad remained calmly meditating, silently calculating just how many mana stones he was saving.
Everything happening outside seemed to have nothing to do with him.
Feeling the mana within his body steadily increase, Joad was thrilled.
Even the pain coursing through his body seemed to ease.
What's more, ever since he had obtained the Ilan Manuscript, the surrounding magical elements seemed even more attuned to him.
Even distant magic elements slowly drifted toward his location...
Unknowingly, seven days passed.
Joad had been meditating continuously for a full week, yet he felt refreshed, completely at ease and invigorated.
He gave no thought to the power struggles going on elsewhere—
After all, Senior Leit was here.
With him around, there was no need to worry.
With Leit on guard, no one would dare stir up too much trouble.
Just as Joad was immersed in meditation, he was suddenly drawn by a disturbance in the distance.
Bright magical light flared from the direction of the main lecture hall—
as though some great treasure was about to appear!
Could something else be hidden here too?
Joad had originally shown no interest in these things—
But if it was a valuable treasure... well, that was another story.
After all, that was worth real money.
Still, Joad didn't move hastily. He continued meditating, absorbing all the surrounding magic elements.
Let the others fight to the death first.
In the end, no matter who got their hands on it, it would likely fall into his hands.
Just as he was fully immersed in his meditation, a shadowy figure approached him.
That person stared at Joad, face full of hatred, teeth clenched.
"Joad... long time no see!!"
The speaker was none other than Archido.
Archido stepped toward Joad, eyes gleaming with cruel amusement.
"Archido," Joad said calmly, slowly opening his eyes.
He had already sensed the other's presence.
"I've gone through a lot of trouble just to find you."
A cold glint flashed in Archido's eyes. Behind him, several other figures appeared.
"What do you want?"
Joad asked, puzzled. Archido continued approaching.
"I heard Leit's been protecting you."
"If that's the case... why don't you come with us to meet your beloved senior?"
Joad frowned, replying casually,
"What exactly are you trying to do?"
"Don't ask so many damn questions. You don't have a choice."
Archido gave a cruel smile. His lackeys chimed in arrogantly,
"When Archido tells you to do something, you better obey! Otherwise, we won't mind breaking your arms and legs."
Still, Joad remained composed.
"I suggest you answer my question honestly—don't bring trouble upon yourselves."
"Are you blind to the situation?!"
"If you don't cooperate, you'll lose your little life!"
"Joad, seems like you really want to do this the hard way."
Archido sneered cruelly and prepared to strike—
But suddenly, he felt the magic elements around him freeze in place, as if sealed off.
"What the hell is going on?"
Archido exclaimed, quickly trying to summon his mana.
But in the next second—
A surge of overwhelming mana erupted from Joad and sent them all flying!
"This... this can't be happening!"
Archido's eyes widened in disbelief.
In the next moment, he felt an immense magical pressure coming from Joad's body!
Joad slowly rose to his feet, mana swirling around him like a tangible force.
He looked coldly at the people sprawled on the ground and spoke with chilling indifference:
"I gave you a chance. You didn't take it."
Archido struggled to get up, his eyes filled with terror and unwillingness.
"You... you actually—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a blinding flash of white light fell from the sky—
BOOM!
A bolt of Fallen Thunder, as thick as a tree trunk, struck Archido squarely.
He didn't even have time to scream before he was reduced to a charred husk.
A breeze swept by, and he turned to ashes.

"H-Hiss—"
The lackeys who came with Archido were scared out of their wits, their legs giving way as they collapsed to the ground.
They stared at Joad in horror, bodies trembling uncontrollably.
This seemingly harmless guy... was actually a hidden master!
Without hesitation, he summoned Fallen Thunder like it was nothing—was this man even human?!
Joad's gaze swept over them coldly.
"Now, it's your turn."
"Speak. What exactly are you after?"
"W-We..."
One of the lackeys stammered, unable to form complete sentences.
Another, clearly terrified beyond reason, blurted everything out at once—
"It's the Ilan Mage God's legacy! It appeared in the main lecture hall!"
"But... but Leit... he's guarding the entrance. He won't let anyone through!"
"So... so Lord Archido planned to kidnap you... and threaten Senior Leit..."
Joad furrowed his brow.
So that's what this is about.
"Ilan Mage God's legacy..."
He murmured, but doubt lingered in his heart.
The magical energy coming from the main lecture hall...
It was too similar to the Ilan Manuscript.
Could it be...?
Joad said nothing more to the terrified underlings.
He simply raised a hand—several bolts of Fallen Thunder followed.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
With a series of thunderous crashes, the lackeys met the same fate as Archido—turned to ashes.
Joad turned and began walking toward the main lecture hall.
He was going to see for himself—
What exactly was this so-called Ilan Mage God's legacy?!
...
Ilan's Study Hall – Main Lecture Hall
At that moment, a massive crowd had gathered.
They came from different academies, principalities, and even kingdoms.
But right now, they were all blocked at the lecture hall's entrance.
A powerful and suffocating magic array stood in their way.
The array glowed with eerie blue light, with streaks of lightning flickering across its surface.
Anyone who approached was immediately repelled by its force.
"Damn it! What is this magic array?!"
"It's too strong! We can't get close at all!"
"Are we really just going to watch helplessly?!"
The crowd buzzed with heated discussion.
Everyone could feel the powerful magical aura coming from within the lecture hall.
Without a doubt, the Ilan Mage God's legacy was inside!
But the formidable magic array kept them firmly shut out.
"Damn it!"
Harlan of the Pyrothian Kingdom clenched his fists, unwilling to accept this.
He stared at the magic array with a dark expression.
His gaze turned to the figure standing at the center of the array—Leit.
His voice carried a tone of accusation:
"What you're doing goes against the rules!"
Leit stood calmly at the center, glancing at Harlan.
His tone was even:
"Rules?"
"Here, my word is the rule."
"You—!"
Harlan choked on his reply, speechless.
Just from this terrifying array, he could already tell—he wasn't a match for this guy named Leit.
But with the Ilan Manuscript so close, he wasn't willing to give up.
Beside him, the blonde Mary grew anxious.
She couldn't hold back and said,
"Leit, I don't want to be your enemy. Besides, the Ilan Mage God's legacy chooses its heir. You can't keep it all for yourself!"
Leit showed no reaction.
Instead, he silently increased the mana output into the array.
The rest of the Ilan Royal Academy students stood behind Leit, watching the others warily.
"So you're choosing to be our enemy!"
Beacher from Ironchain Principality growled.
Jopell from Mington Principality quietly stepped to Beacher's side.
"If that's how it is, then I'll ask just one thing, Leit."
"I admit, you're powerful—but are your juniors as strong as you?"
"You'd better think carefully."
Leit's expression darkened.
His strength could easily suppress these people—
But... what about junior Joad?
For a moment, Leit fell silent.
He was... hesitating.
