My Tribrid System: More than a Monster-Chapter 115: A Pissed off Ray
Chapter 113
"..."
A pin-drop silence suddenly washed over the hallway as every onlooker stared at the newcomer.
Their eyes were fixed on him intently before drifting collectively toward his wrist, where his watch displayed his grade boldly for all to see.
1.2
"Kuk—pfff—hahahahaha!"
It initially started as a desperate attempt to resist a rising urge.
Then it broke out as a stifled chuckle, and finally, it transformed into a full-blown, unhinged laughter that spread among the onlookers as if they were watching a top-tier comedy show.
The sheer confidence the silver-haired boy had walked in with earlier had actually worried them for a moment, but upon seeing his miserable grade, they couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
The power gap between him and Berg was as stark as night and day.
A grade 1.2 human challenging a grade 6.8 meta-human?
Who could possibly be foolish enough to attempt such a suicide mission?
Van, on the other hand, slowly turned around upon hearing that familiar voice.
His eyes widened as they landed on his friend.
"Ray...?" he muttered softly in recognition.
Then, he began frantically shaking his head, his expression twisted in a mix of guilt and terror.
’No, no, no. Not again. Ray is saving me again? What is this? Why am I so damn weak that I have to be rescued again and again by him? Aaaargh! Why didn’t you just leave me alone? Why did you have to come? You’re going to get terribly injured here.’
Berg stared at the boy for a few seconds, shifting his gaze to scan Ray from head to toe with pure disdain.
"Who are you supposed to be? How dare you speak to me in such a manner? Do you even realize who—"
"Do I know who you are?" Ray interjected sharply, a fierce scowl appearing on his face.
His teeth gnashed back and forth audibly, the sound of grinding bone filling the small space between them.
"Yes, I do. You are a fucking coward. A bully who just wants to make himself feel superior by oppressing those he deems below him.
How dare you hurt Van like that? What on Alcatraz gives you the right?!" Ray screamed like a madman, his voice echoing off the metallic walls of the corridor.
Faint sparks began crackling deep within his eyes.
His heart rate accelerated with each passing second, the adrenaline surging through his veins.
His fingers subtly elongated, the tips sharpening as he glared at the descendant in front of him.
It was becoming dangerously clear that if he didn’t regain control of his emotions, his cover as an ordinary human would be blown wide open.
"..."
Berg stared back at Ray, his hands clutching into fists of fury.
"A coward? You dare call me a coward with your filthy, common mouth?! How dare you?!"
"No! How dare you feel like you could touch my best friend with your weak, filthy hands?" Ray clapped back, his anger reaching a boiling point.
"Just because you are a descendant of a Big Four family, it doesn’t give you the right to do whatever you want without facing any consequences."
"... You shouldn’t talk to me that way, kid," Berg growled, his voice dropping into a dangerous, low register.
He lifted his hand, pointing it forward, and instantly it was consumed in bright orange flames.
The fire crackled with raw intensity, licking around his palm like a hungry, predatory beast.
"You think you can threaten me? Fine. Let me match your damn aura, you blasted weakling!" Ray shouted back, lost in his rage.
Cr—
He was just a split second away from unleashing his lightning ability when Van screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Ray! What are you doing?! Come back to your senses! I’m fine, there is no need to f—"
"Are you?" Berg interrupted, a villainous smile flashing across his face.
In the blink of an eye, Berg redirected his hand toward the defenseless Van and unleashed a massive fireball, hurling it his way at a blazing, lethal speed.
"VAN!"

BANG—!
Ray practically exploded from where he stood, his form becoming a blur as he darted toward Van in the blink of an eye.
Grabbing his friend roughly by the arm, he leaped to the side with supernatural agility—all in less than a second.
The fireball crashed violently into the spot where Van had been standing a moment ago, shattering upon impact and scattering deadly pellets of flame in all directions.
— Damn! Berg has gone out of control. Someone call a Captain or something, here, now!
— Sssssh! Who are you to want to interfere? Just enjoy the show, damn it.
— Bu-But he could actually kill someone!
— Let him. If he does, nobody could even hold him accountable due to his family’s influence. But if you report this, he could come for you next.
— Bu...
— Just enjoy the damn show and stop being stubborn. Besides, he is just teaching a few low-graders to know their place.
...
"Are you okay?" Ray asked, his voice strained as he stared at Van on the ground before him.
"Uhn..." Van nodded his head, his eyes wide with a mixture of terror and realization.
"Oh? How did you move so fast?" Berg was genuinely intrigued as he stared at Ray’s back.
The silver-haired boy remained on his knees for a few moments, his breathing heavy.
His eyes were crackling with intensity as he slowly rose up.
Beneath the shadows of his hair, his natural claws were now extending out, merging with the lethal edges of his gauntlets.
Van caught sight of this transformation and quickly shook his head, a silent plea for Ray to stop.
But it was too late.
Ray had lost it.
[DING—!]
[QUEST ALERT]
[Description: A snotty descendant dared to touch your best friend. He shouldn’t have done that. Now, the System wants you to deal with him massively for some juicy rewards.]
[Quest Difficulty: Hard]
[Rewards: +500 EXP; +5 Stat Points; +4 AGI]
Ray didn’t even bat an eyelid toward the quest tab as he yelled inwardly, his voice a primal roar;
’Bruce?! Come out now!’
«Nope. Deal with your shit yourself,» the werewolf retorted, sounding entirely unbothered.
"By the way," Berg continued, his voice dripping with arrogance as he pointed his palm forward again. "I still have to make you pay for calling me a coward and a weakling, you trash!"
Boom—!
Flames roared out and raced toward Ray’s back at a blazing speed.
Turning sharply on his heels, Ray didn’t retreat; instead, he darted toward the fireball without a shred of fear.
Swooosh—!
His claws slashed through the intense heat, cutting through the flames as if they were nothing more than thin silk.

Ray was gone again.
This time, he appeared directly above Berg like a vengeful shadow.
With the gauntlet tightly wrapped around his hand and his body twisting in mid-air, he swung his foot toward the descendant’s neck at maximum speed.
Berg was genuinely taken aback by this display of raw velocity.
For a split second, he was unable to react.
However, survival instinct took over, and flames immediately erupted around his feet, propelling him backward.
The move helped him narrowly dodge Ray’s kick, which crashed into the ground with enough force to crack the flooring.
— Woah! He is incredibly fast. Is he really just a normal human?
Felix, who stood off to the side, was grinning from ear to ear, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
’Of course he is not. He is a Hybrid.’
The moment Ray’s feet touched the ground, he was off again.
His toes dug into the floor hard as he exploded toward Berg.
This time, the descendant was ready for him, his eyes tracking Ray’s movements as he bridged the gap in seconds.
The claws of Ray’s gauntlets slashed toward Berg’s face at full speed.
With surprising agility, Berg leaped to the side, and a torrent of flames blasted toward Ray in retaliation.
Seeing the flames obstructing his view, Ray’s gauntlets began trembling mildly.
With a violent swing of his hand, instead of a single burst of energy, ten distinct slashes erupted.
One came from each finger, tearing through the wall of fire with a slight resistance, but maintaining enough momentum to strike.
Van, watching the carnage unfold, felt his heart pounding loudly against his chest.
’Ra—Ray has gone berserk again.’
Memories instantly crashed into his mind—flashes of every time Ray had truly lost control and the devastation that always followed.
