My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 229: Next
"N-No... it can’t be... That’s impossible..."
Origin froze on the spot, gazing at the blood he had just shed. His body, initially the color of red, rapidly shifted between yellow, green, and orange. However, the two with him couldn’t care less about his mental state.
"Elian, Elian..."
"Yes, Bianca?"
"I was the one who fired that shot, right?"
"What? No, of course not! The slayer metal came from THIS shotgun."
Holding one of the sawed-off shotguns, Elian presented the gun that finally wounded their opponent. He threw away the other one in his hand and consulted the system.
"System, which combination worked?"
[It was compound 1945556XD. Would you like a breakdown of its make up?]
Elian shook his head and gazed at the wounded prey before him.
"Reload all guns with that material. From this point on, we will call it Slayer Alloy."
[Understood. Synthesizing Slayer alloy shells for all delivery vectors.]
Bianca, who watched Elian rearm his army of guns, frowned in displeasure.
"Why do I feel like you rely more on my mom than you do on me, my love?"
"Ha? What in the world are you talking about? I am talking to a computer, not your mom! Are you still sore that you lost? We can still get that beach house, you know..."
"Hmph! Elian, you idiot! I didn’t lose!" Throwing a tantrum, Bianca turned around and puffed out her cheeks. She grabbed two of the shotguns closest to her and commanded the system.
"Mom, the Slayer alloy is not perfect yet, right? Let me help calibrate it. Shift each pellet by a permutation. We will use this pig to find the perfect ratio."
[Okay. Please be careful, baby.]
"W-What? Baby? Oy! Who are you calling baby! Bianca is mine!"
"Oh, shut up!" Giggling like a gremlin, Bianca teleported beside Origin and shoved her guns to the side of his temple. Then, without a shred of mercy, she pulled the triggers.
BANG!
Unlike before, Origin couldn’t shrug off the damage and had his head bounce back from the force. Like a demon possessed, Bianca flipped the guns in her hands. Holding them by their barrels, then as she wielded them like clubs, she bashed Origin’s face with reckless abandon.
"GWUAK!"
Still reeling from the impact, Origin couldn’t properly react as Bianca’s fierce assault pummeled his body. It was then that Elian appeared behind him and shoved his shotguns into the most awkward of places.
He placed one toward Origin’s butt hole while the other was shoved to the back of his neck. Not allowing their opponent to rest, he pulled both triggers at once.
The chaotic detonation of shards of the slayer alloy blasted Origin’s body apart. Large chunks of his body fragmented for the first time, spilling a lot of blue blood around Elian’s body.
"AHHHH!!!"
And while Origin’s body reformed seconds later, it was obvious that he was getting damaged.
[Slayer alloy calibration is at 15%. At present, Origin is still able to negate 85% of the alloy.]
"Great!" Bianca cheered as she rearmed with two brand-new shotguns.
Trying to fend them away by sheer instinct, Origin began to wave his arms and cover his face. But Bianca and Elian simply danced around him and shot the areas he failed to cover.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Gunshot after gunshot resonated faster and faster. Each shell did significantly more damage than the last. Shotguns, for the most part, were loud, violent, and imposing. Much like mortars and artillery, they tried to capitalize on shock value, albeit at extremely close ranges.
Humans who were biologically hardwired for survival had instincts written deep inside them that made them wary of pain, loud sounds, and bright light.
Shotguns combined all this with the concussive force of gunpowder at point-blank ranges, effectively turning them into magnificent tools for disorientation. If one didn’t die outright from being shot in the face, he or she would zone out and turn stupid from the shock.
That was the main reason why Bianca and Elian tried to hammer Origin in this short period. Simply because once Origin regained his wits, the battle would change drastically.
"BIANCA!"
"I KNOW!"
Using their own bodies, they kept up their assault. Second after second, a gun unleashed pellets on Origin’s body. Funny how, despite being on the offensive side, both Elian and Bianca grew more restless as the battle continued.
Sadly, being able to kill a divine being was not something that was easily achieved.
"ENOUGH!"
Along with a powerful roar, a deadly amount of mana surged from Origin’s main body. It had more energy than a thousand suns. Though he had yet to be hit, Elian felt his guts twist in tension.
"BIANCA!"
"DIMENSION RIFT!"
Bianca immediately opened a rift and leaped inside it. Meanwhile, her husband slammed his foot down and braced his entire body. The impact came a second later. As if the world split in half, the empty space trembled.
[You have consumed 10 stacks of Divine Invulnerability. Max HP is increased by 10%.]
10? Just how powerful was that attack? Did Origin detonate his own body?
The light had yet to fade, but Elian’s eyes already tried to find his opponent. When he failed to see even a shadow of Origin, his body broke out in a cold sweat.
"CRAP! HE’S MAKING A RUN FOR IT!" Elian quickly searched the surroundings and saw a small speck thousands of kilometers away from him.
The barrier that sealed them during the crucible for Earth had vanished, revealing that they were truly fighting in an arena in outer space.
"BIANCA!"
He didn’t know where she was. But he trusted her that she would know what to do.
"I WILL NOT LET YOU GET AWAY! DIMENSION PRISON!"
Immediately, a film-like material bound the space around them. It looked like an octagon that encompassed the space around Origin.
"YESSS! THAT’S MY WIFE! LET’S GO! THIS ENDS TODAY!"
[Talent: Driven – Hopeless mode activated. All enemies have been given a soul brand. Elian Reed will never lose consciousness until every brand is extinguished.]
Elian’s body grew hotter from excitement. The brand placed on his opponent was dispelled when Elian ascended. Now, like an AR reticule in a computer game, despite being in near absolute darkness, Origin has a big billboard-like sign on his body.
"HA! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKING TO?"
Answering his call, the prison surrounding Origin shifted. Like a pen for pigs, the space the prey could move around in rapidly shrank. Fralhame lances and ICE VII pillars began to shower Origin, causing him to run away.
"What? Why is he avoiding..."
Seeing his reaction, Elian grew confused. However, soon he understood the brilliant mind games his wife was already using against their target.
"Origin doesn’t know which weapon can hurt him... He only knows we can now hurt him. My devious wife is bluffing by attacking him; rather than risk getting hit, Origin evades as a precaution. That’s brilliant!"
Indeed, although Origin knew that not every attack could hurt him, just the knowledge that he could be killed caused a drastic shift in mentality. Rather than gamble his life with each attack, the Divine being changed his focus from battle to retreating.
Unknowingly, this notion allowed Bianca to herd him like a wolf would do to its prey.
[Tyrant. The calibration has stopped at 75%. Do you want me to rearm Bianca’s weapons with the Slayer Alloy?]
"Yes. And I would like to beat him into the ground."
[I do not understand.]
"I know I am still undergoing ascension, but I cannot wait. Give me a body made from Slayer alloy. I am going to pummel this bastard to dust."
[Acknowledged. Please engage Forged mode to expedite the process.]
Nodding, Elian followed the system’s prompt.
"Forged – Crucible Mode."
Elian’s body, which glowed beautifully like a moon, was devoured by a shadow that appeared out of nowhere. Instantly his body was wrapped in an intricate blend of metal the color of rust.
[Congratulations! You have created a new alloy!]
[Strength: S | Flexibility: S | Elasticity: S | Mana Conductivity: S | Density: Extremely High]
[Slayer Alloy 75P has been recorded.]
[Slayer Alloy 75P recipe ratio: Compound 5892-H: 2%, Compound 7261-WE: 14%, Compound 1235-X: 27%...]
While Elian was the one who actually did it, he grew amazed when he saw the breakdown of the Slayer Alloy. No wonder it took so long to find it. The alloy itself was made of various combinations that seemed just as complicated.
He made the computations, but it was something he did in the background. Similar to how one drove home on autopilot. He knew the general steps but couldn’t remember each movement he made to get there.
"ARGH! YOU ARE ANNOYING! RELEASE THIS CAGE RIGHT NOW OR I WILL KILL EVERYTHING YOU LOVE AND HOLD DEAR!"
Origin’s threat caused Bianca to stop. Elian saw the hesitation in her eyes. If in the other universes Bianca Valestra had no one. In this universe many people loved her dearly.
Bastion, Silent, Fluffy, Sunny, Burny, Charlotte, Tom, and Susan Reed; the list goes on. If you count those that she didn’t even know, then practically every Weapon would give up its life for her. Simply because they all know how much Elian treasured her.
It was ironic in a way. Bianca was more powerful than she had ever been. But at the same time, she had gained far more weaknesses that could be exploited. If Origin suddenly started to murder those people, Elian knew she might be broken beyond repair.
"I-I..."
Seeing his wife grow more anxious by the moment, the Weapon acted. Elian created thrusters on his back and detonated them. Like a rocket, he surged faster than a comet and entered the jail cell meant to restrain the Origin of the multiverse.
As Origin was focused on Bianca, he failed to see Elian come for him. With a straightforward right hook, Elian twisted his entire upper body to put as much power into this one punch as he could.
The effects were instantaneous.
From a divine being who could not be even hurt, Origin’s body crumbled and was ripped apart by a single punch. Like a watermelon, his head and upper body exploded into tiny little pieces, showering Elian’s rust-colored frame with blood the color of azure.
"I think you have more immediate concerns; you freaking bastard. You have no idea how much I wanted to smash your face in."
Like a boxer who received a concussion, Origin pathetically tried to crawl away from Elian.
His eyes, which glowed like flames in the midst of space, and a body the color of dried-up blood, gave a visceral impression of a person you wouldn’t want to mess with.
"No... How could this be? I-I... I can’t die in this place. You aren’t even the real Tyrant of the End!" Origin stammered.
However, before he could even stand back up, loud gunshots resounded. Origin’s left knee and right elbow exploded violently, sending him sprawling to the ground. The culprits? A pair of Fralhame Lances that hovered behind the Villainess.
"I grow tired of this... Elian..."
"Yeah. Time to move on to the next target."
Seeing their fed-up expressions, Origin murmured a grim realization. "You bastards don’t even see me as anything but an obstacle to kill, do you?"
Not bothering to even reply, Elian and Bianca proceeded to unleash an unholy beatdown on their prey. Origin was slowly torn apart, piece by piece.
As if unleashing decades of frustrations, Elian and Bianca vented on the being who selfishly created the tragedy that was the celestial crucible.
After a time that could be considered both short and long, a system message popped up signifying the end of an era.
[Alert: Quest: End the Crucible has been completed.]
