Chapter 249: Chapter 243: Kidnapping Mia

The group chat instantly went quiet.

Then, it was flooded with all sorts of wild praise from the Morgan men.

[Aurora is the Morgan family’s greatest lucky star!]

[Aurora is the number one girl in the universe for bringing her man good fortune!]

[The boss has great taste!]

[Hope the boss marries Aurora soon!]

...

Silas Morgan stared at his phone, scrolling through dozens of posts. When he turned around with a miserable look on his face, he was met with his boss’s ambiguously smiling gaze.

Meanwhile, Mr. Beta was silently clutching two stones, looking at him with an expression full of sympathy.

It was as if he were saying: ’The boss wanted the phone. I had no choice but to give it to him.’

Silas Morgan let out a few awkward laughs. Desperate to save his own skin, he said, "Aurora is the boss’s lucky star. She made over a billion in one go."

Behind them, Aurora Sinclair blinked a couple of times and cooperatively handed the card to Alvin Morgan.

Up ahead, Silas Morgan’s eyes instantly welled up with grateful tears.

’Aurora is so considerate! She’s giving all the money she won to the boss. Maybe he’ll be so happy that he won’t punish me for gossiping.’

To his surprise, she said directly, "My master said that wealth gained from luck can only be used for a moment, not for the long term. Morgan, you can handle it."

"..."

The three Morgan men suddenly understood why the Radiant Void Sect was so poor.

’They’re sitting on a gold mine but refuse to cash in, and they have so many pointless scruples.’

’It would be a crime against nature if they *weren’t* poor.’

Alvin Morgan looked at Aurora Sinclair’s relieved expression and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Meanwhile, at the luxury hotel.

The Black Wolf mercenary left on guard duty suddenly felt his head spin. Gradually, his vision blurred. He cursed inwardly, but his body had already gone limp and collapsed to the floor.

"You..."

The housekeeper cleaning the room slowly straightened up, took off their mask, and revealed a smiling face.

Immediately after, five or six people in suits and silver masks walked in.

Bending down, they checked each person’s face.

Upon seeing Mia, one of them immediately gave a confirmation signal to the person next to him.

Mia was picked up and carried away.

"Strange, why isn’t anyone answering the phone?"

When Silas Morgan tried to contact his team members from downstairs, the call went unanswered for a long time, and a bad feeling crept into his heart.

"Sir, something’s wrong."

The car immediately sped up.

When they rushed upstairs, they found their team members unconscious in the presidential suite.

Beta Morgan reached out to check for a pulse and sighed in relief. "They’re alive, just inhaled a large dose of knockout drugs."

Silas Morgan’s face fell instantly.

"See if anything is missing."

Soon, they discovered that Mia was gone.

This outcome was unexpected. Silas Morgan couldn’t make sense of it.

"They kidnapped Mia?"

"Could Mukelin’s family have taken her?"

Alvin Morgan glanced at Aurora Sinclair and said calmly, "It wasn’t them. The method was too professional. They were after Aurora."

"Could it be the lab in the Eastern Highlands?"

***

Aurumport was a city in Masovia with very lax regulations. Its local population was small, so all order was maintained by mercenaries hired by the Royal Family.

The hotels within the Gambling District, on the other hand, were generally managed by people hired by the heads of the major casinos.

When Terry saw the group returning, he immediately grew nervous, clutching the jade stone in his hands tightly.

"You’re not backing out of our deal, are you?"

"We need your help with something."

Terry was startled. He looked them over a few more times and asked suspiciously, "What kind of help?"

"Help us find a girl."

"Who?"

"Mukelin’s daughter, Mia."

Soon, Terry and the Megalodon men brought back some news: people from Aurumport’s Black Streets had taken Mia.

The Black Streets were a few blocks away from the Gambling District. It was Aurumport’s slum, where many debtors from the casinos lived. It was notoriously filthy, chaotic, and dangerous.

The Captain of the Great Sharks frowned deeply and said to Alvin Morgan, "Sir, those people were unfamiliar faces. Men from the Black Caimans brought them into the hotel. Our people have already gone to negotiate, but we might not be able to find out..."

The Megalodons and the Black Caimans had no relationship; they had always kept to themselves.

The Black Caimans were the biggest force in the Black Streets, entrenched there for years. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Because their leader had saved a princess from Masovia’s Royal Family in his early years, the Royal Family was relatively lenient with them.

As long as they didn’t start a rebellion, the Royal Family basically turned a blind eye to their other activities.

As evening approached, the mercenary sent to gather information finally returned. He glanced at Alvin Morgan and said hesitantly, "Boss, the leader of the Black Caimans will only release the person if he can meet this gentleman personally."

When they went, it seemed as if the Black Caimans’ leader had been specifically waiting for them, which was very strange.

Silas Morgan’s expression changed, his eyes showing deep caution.

"Sir, you absolutely cannot go."

This kidnapping was aimed at Aurora Sinclair, and now they’re demanding to see you. It’s definitely a trap.

Just as he was speaking, a shout came from a Black Wolf Mercenary outside, "Captain, bad news! That kid Arthur ran off toward the Black Streets!"

Silas Morgan’s face paled. His eyes wide, he roared, "Go after him—"

***

The Black Streets covered a vast area, taking up nearly a third of Aurumport.

At a glance, it wasn’t much different from the Lawless Zone.

The outskirts were filled with dilapidated tents, while the interior consisted of haphazardly arranged houses, some with roofs made of cloth.

Many of the tents and houses had a worn-out red lantern hanging outside.

From time to time, people would stand in their doorways, looking out.

The car followed a relatively wide road for over ten minutes before finally reaching a spacious and clean area.

A towering black wall enclosed a luxurious three-story villa, with two fierce-looking guardian beasts standing at the entrance.

A white line had been specially drawn around the perimeter, separating it from the slums.

Near the white line, black crocodile flags were planted, and guards stood watch.

A single line separated two different worlds.

The Megalodon’s vehicle was allowed to pass through directly.

The car drove into the black-walled compound.

The fortress inside was minuscule compared to the Black Wolves’ main base, but in a place like this, it was a paradise.

"Welcome, honored guests..."

A black-haired man wearing a silk robe and holding a cigar walked over.

He was tall and thin with a fierce-looking face. Beneath thick, dark eyebrows were a pair of large, round eyes that glinted with cunning and shrewdness.

"Where’s the person?" Silas Morgan asked bluntly, with no intention of exchanging pleasantries.

Doyle took a drag from his cigar, a smile on his face as he sized them up.

"That gentleman there, please come in..." He made an inviting gesture toward Alvin Morgan.

Everyone glanced at the large door, a hint of vigilance in their eyes.

Silas Morgan moved to enter first but was blocked by the men at the door.

The smile on Doyle’s face didn’t change, but his tone grew a little colder. "I only invited *that* gentleman."

His gaze was fixed on Alvin Morgan, who stood at the edge of the group. His intention was obvious.

Alvin Morgan smiled and said calmly, "You all wait here."

"Sir..." Aurora Sinclair tugged on his arm. Alvin Morgan raised a hand and patted her head.

But Doyle’s eyes suddenly lit up. He looked Aurora Sinclair over a few more times and said with interest, "This young lady may come in as well."

Doyle led the two to his study and ordered all of his subordinates to leave.

He poured two cups of black tea for them and sat down behind his desk.

"You’re with the Black Wolves, aren’t you?"

Doyle took a new cigar from the desk and slowly lit it with a long, specially made match.

As he lit it, he continued, "That group is bad news. I can help you get to their main base, but on one condition..."

Alvin Morgan let out a soft laugh. "What condition?"

Doyle flicked the match out and took a small puff of his cigar. "Bring a box out for me."

He took a candid photo out of his drawer and held it up for Alvin Morgan to see.

It showed a special-made silver case with no markings on it.

"What is it?"

"Sir, everyone has secrets that are best left unknown."

Doyle took another drag from his cigar and exhaled slowly, as if thoroughly enjoying the sensation.

Alvin Morgan’s fingers tapped lightly on his arm as he asked nonchalantly, "S-level tranquilizers?"

The smile on Doyle’s face froze.

His other hand reached for the gun in his drawer, but he had barely moved when the teacup on his desk shattered.

The red-brown tea spilled across the table.

Doyle froze, his gaze turning serious as he looked at Aurora Sinclair.

"Am I right, Mr. Donovan Lockwood? One of the 26 S-level wanted criminals?"
