Title: In which the System Torments the Protagonists: My Wife is My Life!

Chapter 2

In reality, he wasn't a poor boy. He was a young master from a rich and powerful family. Before running away from home to live a life of self-reliance, he never had to worry about daily life necessities. He was firmly woken up to reality after being kicked to the curb by Ji Qingqing, who looked down on the poor and flattered the rich. Having undergone that experience, his temperament went through a huge change; he became a heartless and fickle person. But then, he met the kind-hearted and beautiful female lead.

The female lead didn't look down on the male lead that was pretending to be poor. She quietly stayed by his side. When the female lead encountered many challenges created by people that wanted to make life difficult for her in the novel, it was the male lead that overtly and covertly helped her by resolving them for her. Eventually, the male lead decided that he shouldn't continue to hide his identity from the female lead, so he confessed the truth to her.

After the female lead found out about the male lead's identity, the female lead had conflicted feelings and gave the male lead the cold shoulder for a period of time. In the end, she forgave him for hiding the truth.

As for the supporting female character, Ji Qingqing felt extremely remorseful after finding out the male lead was a consortium's successor.

In the entertainment industry, she tried to push the female lead out. She targeted her and framed her. Without any restraint, she even bragged about the male lead's attempts at wooing her in the past. She tried all sorts of underhanded tricks to get close to the male lead and rekindle their past relationship. But, this only cause the male lead to loathe her and blacklist her from the entertainment industry. She lived the rest of her life accomplishing nothing and living in envy and bitterness. There were even months when she couldn't afford to pay rent.

The existence of Ji Qingqing, the supporting female character, was probably meant to set off the female lead's beautiful heart. The female lead's life was meant to be an inspiring story.

Let's go back to our protagonist's current dilemma. The orginal Ji Qingqing was a natural-born hedonistic. She spent her money purchasing brand-name purses, clothing, and skincare products. These were all consumables, and wasn't worth much if you tried to resell them. The only valuable thing she had was a home located at the heart of downtown. It was worth a few million dollars.

By demanding a compensation of twenty million yuan, the female lead was giving her an impossible to complete task.

She was obviously just trying to torment her to death!

How had the original owner of this body resolved this problem?

Oh.

Because she had recently been abandoned by that second-generation nouveau riche, everyone in the entertainment was eagerly waiting to see Ji Qingqing's imminent misfortune. Ji Qingqing had lost her supporter and could no longer lord herself over them. Her endorsements had been robbed from her, and her acting role had been given to someone else. Anyone could step on her right now.

In the novel, when Ji Qingqing was at the end of her rope, a middle-aged, oily, obese man appeared and solved this problem for her.

Before Ji Qingqing had transmigrated into this novel, her finances had been in such a poor state that she almost had to sell her body. Her parents and grandfather as well as her spoiled older brother completely depended on her support to support them.

In the blink of an eye, she had woken up to owning a grand residence and a luxury car. Before she had time to throw a party to celebrate her good fortune, she was informed that she was responsible for a twenty million yuan debt. Not only that, she had to choose the ending option of either selling her body or being the kept plaything of a middle-aged, oily, obese man.

Ji Qingqing closed her eyes and almost fainted.

Twenty million yuan! How could she possibly get that much money?!

She roughly estimate the assets owned by the original owner of this body. Even if she sold off brand-name personal property and real estate, it would only add up to ten million yuan. It was far from being enough.

Ji Qingqing stood in front of the mirror and looked at the woman in the mirror. Even without makeup, this face was a hundred times more beautiful than the actresses on TV. She would rather die than sell this body!

Otherwise, she wouldn't have come to this rotten place!

"Do you have an urgent need for money?"

One after another, commercials for lending money sounded on the TV.

"As long as you do what I say, you'll have more money than you can spend in a lifetime."

"First, download the Financially Ruined App. Only one step is needed. Just enter the amount of loan you need to borrow, and you'll have more money than you can spend in this lifetime."

Ji Qingqing: ...

What a magical world.

"Do you have an urgent need for money?"

"Lu Lixing is from a family that’s rolling in money, but he's coming to the end of his allotted lifespan. If you marry him, you'll gain his enormous inheritance."

"...?" The words in this commercial was too weird.

Ji Qingqing turned around. The TV screen was black.

"Lu Lixing is going to die soon. As long as you marry him, you'll obtain his vast wealth."

"Who?" Ji Qingqing's voice echoed in the empty room.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm your system. I'll guide you out of our current predicament. You can call me Little A."

"Little A? What's that supposed to be?"

"To be precise, the reason why you're in this world is because I brought you here."

Ji Qingqing's gums trembled. "I don't need you to guide me out of this predicament. I can easily tell you how to solve my problem. Just send me back home."
