My Wife, The Ice Queen President-Chapter 407 - : The 0406 Capital City Su Family (First Update)_1
Chapter 407: The 0406 Capital City Su Family (First Update)_1
“Why did she bring up Su Zhentian? She was merely accompanying her parents to make an appearance,” Xiao Fangfang asked curiously.
Upon hearing what Xiao Fangfang said, it was very likely that Yang Xinyi was still unaware of her own origins. The couple Yang Dingguo might have feared Yang Xinyi’s aversion to her biological father and her unwillingness to go to Capital City, so they probably hadn’t told her the truth yet.
“Got it, hanging up.”
“I haven’t finished talking, hey hey…”
The call had just ended when the phone rang again.
“You hung up before I finished speaking. Do you even have any manners?” Xiao Fangfang was quite unhappy.
...
“Is there anything else?”
“I wanted to ask what you’re going to do?”
“None of your damn business.” Ye Xiong hung up the phone again.
Lying in bed, Ye Xiong thought for a long time, feeling that Yang Xinyi’s trip to Capital City was definitely not a trivial matter.
She had already been saddened by his actions; if she found out that she was an illegitimate child, she probably wouldn’t be able to take the shock.
“What crap timing, Xiao Fangfang had all this time to talk, and she picked right now to spill it.”
But it wasn’t her fault either; she likely had only found out recently as well.
Ye Xiong took out his phone to call He Mengji, asking her to book two of the earliest flight tickets to Capital City.
Half an hour later, He Mengji called back, saying the earliest flight was the next evening.
The day after tomorrow was Su Zhentian’s big birthday celebration; next evening’s flight should be just in time, hoping they could take her away before Yang Yi found out about her identity.
…
Capital City, inside a luxurious villa.
On the eight immortals table in the living room, there was a spread of delicious dishes, all rare delicacies from mountains and seas, filling an entire table with over a dozen dishes.
Seven people were seated at the table.
In the middle were Su Zhentian and his wife Guan Liuzhen, on the left were their son Su Wei, his wife Miao Chunhua, and their five-year-old son, and on the right was their daughter Su Yue with her boyfriend Du Fan.
Su Zhentian was sixty years old. At twenty-seven, he married the treasured pearl of the wealthy Guan family, Guan Liuzhen, and used the Guan family’s connections to establish his own business. After more than thirty years of hard work, he became one of the top ten wealthiest in Capital City, even surpassing the ranking of the Guan family.
He had his son Su Wei at twenty-eight and his daughter Su Yue at thirty. What was unknown to many was that at thirty-two, he had a daughter with another woman, whom he named Su Jin’er.
Since he was in the ascending phase of his career at that time and still needed the Guan family’s support, despite his deep love for that woman, he dared not give her any status.
Eventually, his wife Guan Liuzhen found out. Furious, she threatened to divorce him and leave him with nothing. At that point, Su Zhentian was still in a crucial phase of his career and couldn’t afford to offend her.
Under immense humiliation, Su Zhentian promised never to see that woman again, and only then did Guan Liuzhen forgive him.
Forced to part with that woman, Su Zhentian later discovered she was pregnant.
Secretly, he arranged for the woman to hide in Jiangnan City, where she gave birth to a daughter and then disappeared without a trace.
For twenty years, Su Zhentian searched for her relentlessly, but never found any leads to her whereabouts.
Fearing his wife’s discovery, Su Zhentian had his friend Yang Dingguo help raise his daughter, naming her Yang Xinyi.
This had always been a thorn in Su Zhentian’s side. A while ago, he finally couldn’t bear it anymore and confided in his son, Su Wei, saying that his sixtieth birthday was approaching and that in his life he had no greater wish than to acknowledge his daughter, hoping for his son’s understanding.
Unexpectedly, Su Wei was magnanimous, assuring him to his face that he could accept this half-sister who shared the same father but a different mother.
“I have something to tell you,” Su Zhentian ladled a bowl of soup, placed it in front of himself, and said indifferently, “At tomorrow’s birthday banquet, I am planning to acknowledge Jin’er as my daughter.”
Su Wei had previously discussed the matter of Su Jin’er with his mother, Guan Liuzhen, and his sister, Su Yue.
“No way,” Guan Liuzhen rejected flatly.
She tossed her chopsticks on the table and said, “I have no objections to you acknowledging her, or even to dividing a portion of the family assets with her, but you absolutely cannot acknowledge her at such an event. Do you want everyone to know that you have a woman on the side, a bastard daughter? Don’t you think that’s humiliating?”
“I need to acknowledge her in such a public setting, to make amends for the mistakes I have made against her and her mother. My acknowledgment of Su Jin’er as my daughter must be done openly and honorably,” Su Zhentian said sternly.
“So you’re showing off how charming you are to everyone?” Guan Liuzhen scoffed.
“Guan Liuzhen, I’m here to inform you, not to hear your objections. You need to understand that,” he stated.
The Su Zhentian of today was no longer the man who couldn’t raise his head in front of the Guan family. With his current wealth, even the Guan family couldn’t hope to compare. He had worked hard for more than twenty years to achieve this. He had already tolerated it for over twenty years, and there was no way he was going to endure it anymore.
“Su Zhentian, you think you’re so great now, don’t you? I’m telling you, without our Guan family, you would be nothing. This is sheer ingratitude,” Guan Liuzhen said fiercely.
“I’ve already regretted the decision I made back then. If it weren’t for Wei and Yue being so young, I would have divorced you long ago. Did you think I could wait until now? Let me tell you, and you too, you’d better behave yourselves tomorrow. If anyone causes trouble, I won’t let them off easily.”
Having said his piece, Su Zhentian got up without even finishing his meal, slammed his chopsticks down on the table, and went straight to his room.
The marital relationship between the couple had seeds of division sown during an incident over twenty years ago, which had grown more intense over the years, leaving the marriage in name only.
It was only because they feared what others might say that they hadn’t divorced.
“Su Zhentian, I absolutely won’t allow you to acknowledge her in front of so many people. Just you wait,” Guan Liuzhen yelled out loud.
“Mom, please don’t make a fuss,” Su Wei quickly tried to calm her.
“He’s getting more and more presumptuous. I won’t stop him from acknowledging her, but does it have to be publicly? Isn’t that deliberately embarrassing me? By doing this, he clearly wants me to lose face. Where can I put this old face of mine now?” she complained.

“Mom, don’t worry, I’ll handle it,” Su Wei said.
Meanwhile, Su Wei’s wife, Miao Chunhua, had been silent the whole time, acting as if she hadn’t heard a thing.
That evening, Su Wei and Miao Chunhua went back to their room, locked the door, and sat down on the bed.
“Su Wei, what are you planning to do now?” asked Miao Chunhua.
“You think I, Su Wei, will accept a bastard from outside? No way. I will never let her come and snatch our Su family’s wealth,” Su Wei said vehemently.
“What’s your plan?”
“I plan to contact Old Duan. As soon as that shameless woman arrives in Capital City, I’ll have someone take care of her,” he stated.
“Why not contact Old Jiang? He has always taken care of our affairs in the past,” Miao Chunhua asked curiously.
“Don’t bring up Old Jiang. The last time he sent Jiang Yu to Jiangnan to warn that bastard, I don’t know what got into him. After coming back, he told me he wouldn’t get involved in this matter anymore and that I should find someone else. Damn it, when did the Jiang family become a bunch of cowards?” Su Wei cursed.
“Could it be that they encountered someone tough?” Miao Chunhua asked, frowning.
