My Wife, The Ice Queen President-Chapter 409 - : Phoenix Grace (Part 3) - 1
Chapter 409: Phoenix Grace (Part 3) – 1
Phoenix did not hate Ye Xiong, as she had long been aware of his nature, but every time she saw him, she could not help but recall that first kiss.
It was Phoenix’s first kiss.
She had never expected that her first kiss would be taken away during someone else’s jest.
Phoenix sat there in a daze, staring at the name set as 4 on her cellphone.
4 meant death, the meaning of Reaper.
As a special agent, all the names in Phoenix’s phone were aliases, which allowed her to avoid exposing too much in case of danger.
...
She sighed and tucked the phone into her leather pants.
Just then, she noticed five sturdy men enter the residential area and head upstairs.
Something was up.
Phoenix hurriedly got out of her car and followed them closely.
The five men kept going upstairs, heading in the direction of Yang Yueru’s home.
Reaching Yang Yueru’s doorstep, the leading man signaled to the other four subordinates with a glance.
The four men positioned themselves two on each side, right against the wall, to remain unseen by those inside.
Then, a short figure dressed in courier clothes rang the doorbell.
The door opened, and Yang Yueru asked in surprise, “Who are you looking for?”
“Hello, I’m from the courier service. There is a package here that Miss Yang Xinyi needs to sign for personally,” said the short figure.
Yang Yueru had no suspicions; after all, it was quite normal for couriers to deliver packages to the door.
“Xinyi, it’s your package,” Yang Yueru called out loudly.
Yang Xinyi came out from inside looking exhausted and listless.
Ever since she came to her aunt’s home last night and her father told her aunt about the divorce, her aunt had become furious. She had scolded Ye Xiong fiercely, even threatening to call and berate him. Yang Xinyi had struggled to stop her, saying she didn’t want him to know she was there, and only then had Yang Yueru refrained from making the call.
After that, Yang Xinyi experienced another sleepless night, which left her quite fatigued today.
“Where did it come from?” Yang Xinyi asked casually.
“Look for yourself, please hurry up, I’m about to get off work,” urged the courier.
Yang Xinyi opened the metal gate, and in the moment she pushed it open, the four men who had been hiding by the wall rushed in and seized Yang Xinyi.
“Who are you, and what do you want?” Yang Xinyi cried out in alarm.
Yang Yueru, a woman who had seen the world, sensed bad intentions and shouted, “Brother, sister-in-law, hurry and call the police.”
“Shut up, you nosy bitch.”
The leading muscular man slapped Yang Yueru across the face, sending her flying into the sofa beside her, her cheek swelling up.
Yang Dingguo and Zhao Lizhen came out from inside, seeing their daughter being held and becoming extremely anxious.
Yang Dingguo spotted a mop nearby, grabbed it, and bellowed, “Let go of my daughter, or I swear I’ll take you all on!”
As he charged forward, the muscular man was about to unleash a kick to send this oblivious old man flying when suddenly, two cries of agony came from behind.
The two men holding Yang Xinyi were now on the ground, clutching their wrists and screaming in pain.
Standing beside Yang Xinyi was a woman in black, her long hair draped over her shoulders, exuding an aura of icy coldness, reminiscent of an apocalyptic assassin from the movies.
“Who are you?” the muscular man exclaimed in shock.
Phoenix did not speak; these scum were not worthy of knowing her name.
She approached the muscular man directly.
The man pulled out a gleaming dagger from his body and stabbed viciously at Phoenix.
Yang Yueru and Zhao Lizhen screamed in horror.
“Be careful…”

Before they could finish, they saw a kick, swift as lightning. The bystanders had not even had time to react when the muscular man was struck in the chest, sent flying three meters away, crashing into the wall and then falling to the ground.
Yang Yueru and Zhao Lizhen were stunned, realizing that their savior was a master. It seemed their worries had been unnecessary.
The remaining two delinquents reacted, simultaneously drawing their daggers, and exclaimed in shock, “Don’t come any closer, or we won’t be polite anymore.”
Phoenix walked towards them, and for every step she took, the two thugs took a step back.
There was no choice, Phoenix’s presence was too overwhelming, even their boss couldn’t get up after being kicked, let alone his underlings.
Eventually, the two delinquents backed up against the wall with nowhere else to retreat.
“I’m going all out.”
One of the delinquents gripped the knife and charged forward.
A shadow flashed before him, and when the delinquent stopped to look, the knife had disappeared from his hands at some unknown time.
Phoenix swept a leg out and straight away kicked his knife away.
The delinquent sighed in relief, thankful that it was just the knife that got kicked away. If it had been his body, who knows how terrible it would have been!
He soon found out, as Phoenix landed a kick directly on his body.
The delinquent hit the wall and spat out foam from his mouth.
Seeing this, the last remaining delinquent threw down the knife and ran away without looking back.
With that, the crisis was resolved.
Or perhaps, it wasn’t a crisis at all.
For Phoenix, these small-time thugs were just like ants.
“Who are you?”
Yang Yueru, thoroughly impressed by Phoenix’s skills, asked with immense admiration.
“Ye Xiong asked me to protect Yang Xinyi. He said someone might cause her harm,” Phoenix replied, about to lift the large henchman off the ground to find a place for interrogation.
No sooner had she walked through the doorway than a fierce killing intent suddenly hit her head-on.
This killing intent was so strong, Phoenix hadn’t expected to encounter such a formidable expert in this place.
In the nick of time, Phoenix’s body retreated, as the cold gleam nearly grazed her neck.
She had managed to escape, but the delinquent she had caught for interrogation wasn’t so lucky.
A head tumbled to the ground, as the sharp object cleanly severed the delinquent’s head.
Phoenix backed away several meters, her gaze fixed intently on the black-robed person who had appeared.
She had initially thought it was Long Lan, but it clearly wasn’t.
The black-robed person stood at one meter eighty tall, and wasn’t wearing high heels.
Wrapped in the black robe, only a pair of eerie green eyes were visible, giving off a very cold aura. The deathly presence she exuded suggested that she must be a Gene Warrior, and specifically, a second-generation one.
She resembled Skeleton, but she was definitely not Skeleton.
Inside the room, the three women screamed in terror.
Yang Yueru and Yang Xinyi clung tightly to each other, not daring to look at the severed head on the ground.
Even Yang Dingguo turned pale with fright, as they had never seen such a scene before.
Blood splattered everywhere, making the entire scene extremely gruesome.
“Who on earth are you?” Phoenix drew her dagger, staring at the strange woman who had appeared.
“Never mind who I am, if you don’t want to die, hand over Yang Xinyi,” a hoarse woman’s voice sounded, uncomfortable to listen to, as if air was leaking through a pierced throat.
“Whether you can take her or not depends on your ability,” Phoenix replied coolly, eyes on the ten long, thin claws protruding from her sleeve.
It was these claws that had severed the delinquent’s head, still stained with blood, her most formidable weapon.
“Seeking death,” the black-robed woman swung her claws, fiercely attacking Phoenix.
