Days passed, and only a day remained before we had to return. I looked at the haggard appearance of everyone. The women were in a little better condition because I sneakily gave them stamina potion every time before a session of sex, but the men were in an awful condition.

But, the progress was equivalent as well. Rayla was now a full-fledged third-circle mage, somewhere in the middle. Practice for a month more, and she would be at the peak of the third circle. Of course, that included fucking her as well.

They were only seven in number so including the nine before, there were only sixteen C rank monsters in this entire forest.

But, thinking about it again, it made sense. This was just a small town with a small base of monsters. If there were such strong monsters in this forest, the town would have an influx of more adventurers from outside the town who would try to take down such monstrosities.

Given the fact that this was just a low-level city with its lord being a B rank knight, it made sense that there weren't any strong monsters in the vicinity.

That also meant I needed another source of leveling up because I had cleaned this entire forest. In these last two weeks, without exception, except for the time I spent with the family training and having sex for 40 minutes, I spent every other second hunting.

I even came across some people who targeted me, but only their demise remained. All in all, there was only one B rank entity in this entire area, and that was none other than the knight lord. The problem was how I would kill him. That would soon be solved. All I needed was some access, though.

With my stats balanced as they were, we made our way back to the city. As we arrived, the guards were astonished to see us. They thought we died, but the reality was different.

News spread like wildfire, and by the time we returned home and cleaned ourselves up, there was a crowd outside of our house, which was soon to be sold, by the way, due to our long absence.

Still, we explained what was going on and how we spent the entire time training. There was no need to hide anything since the changes in the family were visibly noticeable.

It took a while to quench everyone's curiosity. The only thing we lied about was my progress. Well, it wasn't technically a lie, since no one knew about my progress even in the family. All I had told them was that I had managed to reach the peak of the first circle, while in actuality, I was at the peak of the third circle and about to break through to the fourth circle.

With these facts in mind, there was only one thing left to deal with...

"The lord has summoned you to his residence." A man dressed in well-looking clothes came to take me to the lord's residence. Since we hadn't cashed in our hunt yet, I decided to use my remnant of a gold coin to purchase some good-looking clothes on the way.

"I heard you spent a month in seclusion training," were the first words the man who was known as the lord of this city said as soon as I was seated in his office. His buff appearance was a little daunting, but to the current me, it wasn't as intimidating as one would think.

"So? Have you decided?" Without even letting me comment back, he got straight to the point. I could see an obvious threat in his eyes as he asked me that question. Typical nobility. There was never an option to decline.

I simply stood up from my seat and knelt on one knee, taking the posture of a knight as I answered, "It would be an honor for me to be of service to you, my lord."

"Good choice." The lord seemed visibly relieved and pleased with my choice. He then asked me to move forward, which I did. He placed a contract on the table and simply let me read it on my own.

With his authority, I would be granted the title of a squire, which wasn't nobility but not a commoner either. It would be like the man who came to fetch me earlier. It was a fancy term for a servant, one could say. The servant of a noble.

Other than that, I was granted a chance to order some of the commoners at my disposal and hire them as my servants as well as long as I could pay for their services.

The most important part was my pay, and it was only one gold coin, or a thousand bucks in modern terms. Now it sounded a lot, but it actually wasn't. As they say, the bigger the pay, the bigger the expenses.

Instead of wearing simple leather pants, which would typically cost one to two copper, I would have to buy expensive pants that would cost at the very least about one to two silver coins.

The same would go for my residence. This pay was enough to rent a decent-looking house, but not buy one. However, a decent house would be a necessity. How would it look if the personal servant of the lord were to live in a dump like my current residence?

In that sense, the pay was too short, and the conditions weren't favorable to me either. But the work would be too little as well. However, none of that was the main point. The main point was to simply tie me down to him, not to let me grow.
