Chapter 250: The gazes that follows ’It’

Anon pondered aloud, "I wonder why the Elven race has sent a Primary-Level Dimension Lord such as yourself to grace me with your presence?"

Elandriel sensed the young lord’s doubt and the darkness that was, in the depths of the young lord’s eyes, the crimson darkness waiting to unfurl.

A slight smile played on his lips, conveying warmth.

"Ah, this is a delicate matter," he said, his voice carrying a melodic lilt. "The Elven race has never formed an allegiance with a cosmic species other than the Human species, solely because we are part of the Human species."

"But to fall under the Human banner..." His voice trailed, and Anon’s expression continuously darkened.

This was even more humiliating than any failure in this particular mission by those gone by.

After all, rather than allowing him to, at the very least, make an effort to form an allegiance, they had made a step forward and contacted him through the Domain of Dreams, preventing him from even stepping into the Eternal Antiquity Prime Region.

"I understand that you have misunderstood my words." He stepped closer, smiling knowingly, "As mortals, we Elven people have a tradition upheld since time immemorial. This is a tradition embedded in our mortal flesh, so it is that which the World Tree has created for us, so even as otherworldly creatures, we also attempt to follow this tradition."

Elandriel’s words intrigued Anon to the point that the ungodly nature within him calmed, nestling in silence within the depths of his inner world.

The Elven envoy sighed in relief.

Naturally, the current Young Lord was not to be feared; however, he was observed by those who stood at the pinnacle, and his nature is something that could be understood.

However, his growth was not easily understood.

He was not scary now, but he would soon be, and his inherent nature made him more frightening than the Human Lord, even if he never comes to actualize the strength of the Human Lord.

One could only imagine this Young Lord as a Pinnacle-Level Dimension Lord...

"We align with the Human species because we are part of it; however, for us to unite under the Human banner, a union of souls must be forged. In this way, it would be natural for the Elven race to unite with the rest of our species under the Human banner, because we follow the High Honored, Young Lord and the Venerated Saintess."

Anon knitted his brows.

Union of souls...?

"This is your, Human species, proof of willingness." Elandriel frowned. "The Venerated Saintess is the most beautiful existence in the cosmic space, with only the Elven Queen comparable. Our Elven race favors beauty because we are the most beautiful race."

The Elven envoy was practically saying that the only way to ally with them was through marriage.

Union of souls...?

"This is the tradition used by mortals when two powers seek allegiance, and this tradition will remain for us who have transcended mortality."

"The Elven race’s Venerated person, and the Human species’ High Honored, this shows that the Human species truly wishes to unite with the Elven race. Or are you unwilling?"

Anon nodded his head in thought before tilting it in doubt and asking, "What made the previous individuals unwilling?"

This was his only doubt.

Such a simple request had not been completed in the history of the Human species?

What was the catch?

Elandriel stepped even closer, a warm smile spreading across his face.

"It isn’t that they are unwilling, but we are. They were not given this opportunity. We are the most beautiful existences in the cosmic space, so who could marry the most beautiful existence amongst us? Only the Human Lord himself..."

Anon’s eyes finally lit up with understanding.

The Elven envoy seemed to perceive his understanding, and the warm smile was suddenly augmented by a pair of affectionate eyes.

He, Anon, also revealed an otherworldly smile that lit up his divine appearance.

They smiled together, knowingly.

Those who took up this mission were doomed to fail from the very beginning. The fact that the Elven race sent an envoy to his Nine Rivers Esoteric World proved that he had already been accepted by the Elven people.

He had already completed half the mission, and the remaining half was to make this official.

After all, who was more beautiful an existence than him?

Maybe, only the Human Lord’s true body, the Celestial Supreme’s true form, and the Infernal God’s true appearance.

But he carried the characteristics of all three, so even though he was merely an otherworldly knight, his radiance was unlike any other.

Across the cosmic space, who was more radiant than he?

The Elven race had waited to strike gold, but instead stumbled into a river of red diamonds.

Ignored throughout the entire interaction, the dream spirit disappeared soon after. When the Elven envoy left, Anon also stepped out of the Domain of Dreams.

He returned to the cosmic space with a pleased smile stretching across his face.

It was not that he was so excited to unite souls, after all, that matter contained an entirely different set of complexities.

Anyway, it was the little gift he received.

The cosmic void around him trembled as a miniature cosmic vessel jumped from one dimension to another and began expanding in the cosmic space.

This was an incredible cosmic vessel that appeared several tens of thousands of times larger than Leren’s machine-type treasure.

A starry sky and several suns decorated its body.

There was also the star emblem etched onto its body; however, to Anon, it was very clear that this cosmic vessel was of a greater brilliance than whatever Leren had.

.....

Once his cosmic travels began, Anon truly understood how brilliant this cosmic vessel gifted by the Elven race actually was.

If the cosmic vessel that he had planned to borrow was to take four hundred and eighty years with the assistance of the Stellar Threading Pathway to arrive in the Eternal Antiquity Prime Region, and the machine-type treasure owned by Leren would take less than four hundred years, but greater than three hundred and fifty, then it only went to show how brilliant this cosmic vessel was.

To traverse innumerable minor regions, many major regions, and even multiple prime regions, to finally arrive in the Eternal Antiquity Prime Region in and around sixty years, such speed was inconceivable.

After successfully making such a deduction, Anon prepared to enter the Supreme realm and attempt to nurture a Third Level Willpower, finally.

However...

Even though he was now an otherworldly creature, and even though he had an entire inner cosmos as his inner existence and second body, when things that were incomprehensible in nature manifested before him, he was still capable of feeling dread.

Every strand of hair was still capable of standing on end, every pore rose, and a chill was still capable of permeating throughout his body.

This chill manifested as cosmic quakes that caused his inner world to tremble.

He was fearful.

His expression was solemn.

There was a being that observed him.

Its eyes were hollow, and it was not dissimilar to being observed by the conceptual existence of an abyss.

Most importantly, this gaze carried the complexities of a paradisical soul, and yet he had not sensed this gaze... not until it, and the gazes that followed it, were within his own range of perception.

These gazes were honed in on it, but this thing was completely focused on him.

This thing...

It swam through the cosmic space, uncaringly.

This was the Human Domain, but it did not seem bothered at all.

Its haunting cosmic body, even with its luminous, pale skin, no... because of this luminous, pale skin, its body brought a visceral and terrifying sensation that crept into Anon’s inner existence, clawing away at his existential self.

The Fourth Ghost Autarch, Tenebrisculis, had taken no greater than ten years to traverse an inconceivable distance.

This was a distance that would take Realm Fathers an eternity, literally.

They would likely die before they successfully crossed the distance between the Archaic region of Null & Void and the Archaic region of the Human Domain through their own means...

The cosmic consciousness had attempted to constrain its speed to the cosmic limit; however, sometimes it succeeded, and sometimes it did not.

This was a creature that did not need to enter a Stellar Threading Pathway to surpass the speed of light.

This was a creature that had fundamentally begun transcending the dimensionality of the cosmic space itself.

This was an Overlord.

It observed Anon, and he did not easily feel its gaze. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

No, he felt the many paradisical gazes that focused on something near him.

This was a thing that he naturally knew was observing him, but it did not interact with him, so he, Anon, could not interact with it.

For a time that stretched infinitely, the cosmic vessel could not cross any distance whatsoever.

For a time that stretched infinitely, Anon’s otherworldly consolidation had been brought to a halt.

For a time that stretched infinitely, he felt the genuine palpitations of dread pulsing within his inner cosmos...
