Naked Sword Art-Chapter 355: Scavenger Sect
"Who's there?"
The man in her house was none other than Xiao Fang. Xiao Hei, resting her head on his shoulder, looked down at the woman with a dangerous glare, but it softened when she noticed something strange.
{"Fang, this woman..."}
{"Mn, I know… this woman is blind"}
And the marks on her face indicated that she had not lost her eyes from natural causes.
"Whatever you want, just spare my son. He's all I have left," the woman said, quickly assessing the situation without any words being said.
Xiao Fang reached over and took the spatial pouches from her arms. Then left without a word. Though there was a moment of hesitation to say something, this was just the cruel nature of the cultivation world.
Not losing sight of the man he spared, he continued to follow him out of the village and into what appeared to be a small sect.
[ Scavenger's Sect ]
Xiao Fang read the sign but didn't think much of it. With the lack of security, he was surprised they could even call themselves a sect. However the one thing that did catch his eyes was how rich the whole place looked.
"Elders, I have something to report!" the man said as he quickly knelt down on the finely-knitted carpet. The value of which did not look cheap.
One of the elders, dressed in extravagant robes, wrinkled his nose in disgust.
"Why have you soiled this place with your filthy blood? Surely your message is not so urgent that you couldn't change your clothes first."
"I'm sorry—truly, I am! But this couldn't wait!"
"Then speak."
The man recounted everything—the ambush, the massacre, the terrifying black-haired swordsman. He didn't stop to breathe.

An elder leaned forward, stroking his beard. "And you say you came straight here?"
"Yes, Elder. I wasted no time."
The elders exchanged glances.
"Then you wouldn't mind if we searched your home? Surely, if you came directly here, we wouldn't find any stolen belongings in your possession."
The man's face paled. "I… I really— I came straight here."
His hesitation was all the confirmation they needed.
With a wave of a hand, the elders sent disciples to search his home—and his village.
"Wait—!"
He reached out as if to stop them, but he was powerless.
Not long after, the disciples returned, dragging his blind mother behind them.
She had been beaten beyond recognition. Her delicate frame trembled as blood dripped from the corner of her lips. They threw her at his feet like discarded trash.
The man scrambled toward her, his hands shaking as he forced a healing pill into her mouth. The medicine worked, but as a mortal, the backlash made her body convulse in pain before falling unconscious.
"Why?! Why would you do this to her?!" he roared, eyes bloodshot. Yet, despite his fury, he did not dare to look an Elder in the eye.
"Why?" The Elder's expression darkened. "Because you are a liar."
"Your team's hideout was wiped clean of all valuables. We know you have them."
The Elder's cultivation flared, a Profound Realm aura pressing down on the man like an invisible weight. He gritted his teeth, sweat dripping down his forehead, but he did not speak.
"You're lucky the Patriarch is in seclusion," the elder sneered. "Or else, your entire village would have been annihilated for such a crime."
The man bit his tongue. If he spoke now, he might doom his mother.
"AAAAAGH!!"
A sudden commotion erupted outside.
"What the hell is going on?"
"It's a beast!"
The elders rushed out—only for their faces to drain of color.
A Cannibal Abnormal Beast rampaged through the sect, tearing apart disciples and destroying everything in its wake.
"Quickly! Subdue it!"
Watching the Cannibal Abnormal Beast lay waste to the sect, Xiao Fang walked right into the empty main hall while coming out of [ Stealth ].
As he was walking past the bloodied man, the effect of [ Stealth ] gradually became less effective, making him and Xiao Hei appear more and more visible the closer they got.
"You—" The man shivered, his body instinctively remembering the fear from before.
Xiao Hei pranced barefoot behind Xiao Fang, her thin black gown bounced and swayed making her tender legs visible.
{"Fang, can I—"}
{"No,"} Xiao Fang said immediately shutting her down because he knew exactly what she wanted to do.
"Hmph." She pouted, while stomping her foot angrily.
Turning around, Xiao Hei stuck out her tongue at the bloodied man before skipping after Xiao Fang into the next room, gradually fading back to invisibility as they got further away from him.
The bloodied man couldn't believe his eyes, for a moment he felt as if he was seeing things, but he understood deep down that he wasn't. The chaos, the screams, the bloodshed, all of it was because of Xiao Fang.
…
"What a terrible day, how could a 9th-tier beast wander here of all places. And not just any 9th-tier, but an abnormal one as well."
"We need to inform the Patriarch!"
The Head Elder nodded. "Hold it off for as long as you can. I'll inform him."
He knew disturbing the Patriarch during his closed-door training would be dangerous, but this was not something that could wait.
Barging into the Patriarch's chamber, the Elder fell to his knees.
"Patriarch! The sect is under attack—"
Before he could finish, a powerful strike sent him flying backward, blood spewing from his mouth.
"You dare interrupt me now of all times?!"
The Patriarch's icy voice sent a chill down the Elder's spine.
"Please, it's urgent. The sect is being destroyed," the Head Elder said.
The Patriarch could hear the chaos outside while the doors were open, so the Elder didn't need to explain. However, before he could do anything about it, the Elder's head suddenly fell clean off his neck, and at the same time, Xiao Fang slipped out of [ Stealth ].
"Who are you," the Patriarch asked.
"I am your fate, retribution for all those you've assaulted and robbed," Xiao Fang replied.
Xiao Fang was in no way a righteous man, but if he was going to stay in a rich city, he was going to need money. Who better to steal from than a sect of thieves.
