Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 222 - Two Hundred And Twenty-Two:Ares Stays With Me.
Ares’ cries was what woked up Narika from the deep sleep, and she went to his crib and pulled him out of it into her arms, she felt her heart race hearing his deep cries and when she turned towards the bed, Adrik was nowhere to be found.
He wasn’t in bed, and Ares was no longer crying when she carried him into her arms and went for her blood that was inside the feeder that was meant for him.
The moment his mouth latched on it, his glowing red eyes met hers as a smile settled on her face watching him munch on her blood as if he was being starved for days.
She hoped that the midwives or witch who was here to help him drink her blood, would step up in preparing his food that is being prepared with her blood, because at this rate she might end up losing all her blood with the way he’s eating.
He burped after he was done eating, a cackle leaving his lips before under her watchful eyes he spread his tiny wings. It was a really beautiful sight to see.
His red coloured body with his little black wings, a pretty sight that made her so deep in thought about how exactly she was able to birth such a mythical creature.
"My warrior." She said, tickling him at his sides as a laugh from him was enough for her, she didn’t realize that she has not eaten anything since after giving birth to him. She has fallen asleep after having her blood taken away from her, not knowing if the witch had done anything to make her feel this way, she was feeling so sleepy.
"You have to sleep, Ares. I’m feeling sleepy." She mumbled, her eyes closing while she sat on the bed with him until the door to their room was pushed in open and in walked a vexed Adrik followed by his siblings, except Abbadon.
"We are leaving." Adrik told her, the sleep that she was planning on having was long gone as confusion ran across her face.
"Leave, why?" Narika asked, she knew that he has a shaky relationship with his father but where exactly was he planning on leaving with their son?
"You don’t have to do this, Adrik. Think of your son." Aurora pinched in, not caring that he was still conversing with his mate who clearly isn’t planning on leaving from the looks of it.
"You keep your opinion to yourself, you don’t get to tell me what to do with my family!" Adrik snapped at her, making her jump where she stood and she had to retract back to where Azazel and Ramiel was, Dagan was not saying anything irrespective of him being the one to help calm Adrik done, since amongst them he’s the only one who seemed to be close to him.
"Adrik, what are you doing? What is this all about?" Narika asked, she still wasn’t understanding what was happening. One minute he’s glad about reuniting with her and staying in hell was not up for debate, because his father would die before he lets anyone take Ares away from here, and he knew that.
"Baby, listen.."Adrik said, approaching her but she stepped away from him.
"I’m going nowhere, and Ares stays with me." She refused to listen to him.
"Narika, don’t be stubborn. You know he’s not going to be treated like..."
"Like what exactly? He’s not going to be treated any better out there. How am i sure that the crystal palace isn’t after him to kill him." Narika said, and her words made sense to not just Adrik but to his siblings too, but then Adrik wasn’t planning on giving up, he tried to speak but then another voice interrupted him.
"That’s enough, Adrik." Erin said, out of the blue everyone turned to see him walk into the room, where Narika held her baby as if Adrik was going to take him away if she placed him in his crib.
"You should be worried more about what the crystal palace would do to your son, and not Lucifer.Trust me, you wouldn’t love it and i guess Narika knows that too."He added.
"The best you can give this child right now is to allow fate to lead him where he’s destined."He said, approaching him further.
"Yeah, until he gets killed by Abbadon, who thinks he’s here to steal the throne away from him."Adrik said, his fear for the life of the child and the path everyone had for him scared him.
"Well, Lucifer hasn’t stepped down yet, and you are still alive, so you can be rest assured that nothing would happen to him, especially not on my watch."
"How sure am i that this is not a plan between you and Lucifer to kill me and my child and take our life forces for good?" He asked, not willing to trust anyone but him and Narika but the way she’s acting right now made him confused about where exactly she’s standing.
"Trust me, Adrik..." Erin said, but Adrik’s laughter cut him short.
"The last time i tried doing that, I was betrayed by these idiots." He said, pointing at his siblings who did nothing but bow their head in shame.
"It still won’t change the fact that you still need them to protect your son."
"Thanks but i can do that alone, leave!" He growled towards his siblings making Erin see that it was going to be hard getting him to trust them once again and that was bad for him too.
The secret mission he had here wouldn’t be able to come to light if he’s an obstacle, he didn’t want to hurt him if there’s anyone to hurt that would be his father.
"Whatever you say, but you know where to find us if you need our help." Erin said lastly, before leaving followed by his siblings who had this sullen look on their faces, but that still didn’t change his mind.
He turned to face Narika who was more than pissed off at him," Baby..." He tried speaking to them.
"Save it." She said lastly, before going to bed but not without letting Ares out of her grasp, who knows he might steal her baby and leave her here.
She doesn’t understand him again, and that’s a big problem.
