Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 46 - Forty-Six: A Zombie And Her Stupid Guard.
"She’s been this way since yesterday sir, she has refused to talk to anyone or eat anything since last night"
Vanessa could hear Jane’s voice outside of her room, she was reporting to God knows who about her since she’s been nothing, but an overcaring second mother who wants to know what exactly was wrong with her.
"What’s wrong with her?"
Miguel was the next to speak up, at this point she knew that her father was not back home, because he would have broken down her door just to inquire what’s going on with her.
She didn’t know how to face Miguel, he has been the one who she met after seeing her brother disappear right in front of her face, and judging from his expression yesterday, she knew that he knew that something was up to her.
But he knew his place not to disturb her peace, since she put on a do not disturb post right outside her door, but Jane’s overdramatic self was wearing her down, when she realized that her mother might get a sniff of what is happening, and come down here.
Lying to her mother was something she wouldn’t be able to do, how can she lie to the woman who would be the happiest to see her son?
In as much as she was pushed, to rush to her mother’s room to tell her of what she has seen, she realized that she would be tagged a lunatic, but if they called her one, it wouldn’t be entirely wrong.
The young lady was weared down, to the point that she didnt knew where exactly, or what to believe since it seems, everything that has gone down was nothing but her mere imagination.
He promised to come see her last night, and she had waited up all night just to catch a glance of him again.
But at this point that he didn’t show up, she’s caught inbetween reality and her mind playing games on her, to think that she saw Adrik Ivanov.
He’s being dead for five years!
Her subconsciousness reminded her, it’s being five good years since his death and then suddenly he appears, who in the world would believe her theory.
Why didn’t he reveal himself?
Does mother know about him?
Has he appeared to her?
"I think I’m going crazy," She mumbled, clutching her hair and ruffling her hands through it in an annoying way that made her look so distressed.
She had black patches under her eyes, and somehow her red shot eyes that didn’t get any rest yesterday were sleep starved, making her look like some hungry blooded vampire.
"Yes you are," Miguel’s voice brought her out of her trance, making the young lady to jerk where she sat on the bed, with her hand clutching her heart.
" You scared me," she said, looking up to see him holding a tray that contained a mouth watering meal, her stomach choosed to grumble at this moment. Geez! Vanessa get some food right now!
Her mouth salivated at the sight of the food, but the next place her eyes fell were on the judging eyes of Miguel, who took in her appearance before speaking out his mind about how she looked.
"I don’t know what exactly you are planing on doing, but i won’t have the boss thinking that i am housing a zombie, instead of his stupid daughter." He said, moving forward to place the tray in front of her.
He didn’t know what exactly prompted him to do this, Jane had complained about her chasing her out of her room and banning anyone from making an entry.
But since this was his boss’s daughter, a twenty year old spoiled brat that was left in his care, he would have to admit that he would lay down his pride and try to be stupid enough to carry her food up to her.
He was in no mood to ask her what wrong with her, having seen her expression yesterday and her running away before he he could say anything. He knew that something was wrong with her, and he hoped it had nothing to do with Adrik, who their mother thinks he’s alive and is present in this room.
"I’m not stupid," she said, bashing her eyelash angrily at his tone with her. But when had Miguel ever treated her like he was supposed to?
"Then prove it by not giving everyone a reason to think you are," Miguel said coldly, turning his back to leave until he heard something crashing against the floor.
He turned back to see that the tray was now facing the floor, with its contents then there’s this satisfied look on Vanessa’s face.
"Pick it up," she said, in there simple sentence, folding her hands that tugged her breast up against the flimsy excuse of a nightwear she was wearing.
If she wasn’t this stupid, he would have said that she has a thing for him and was trying to get his attention.
But then, it was the other way around. Why would he even find her so sexy in what she’s wearing?
Unlike her who had this biggest scowl on her face, after he had called her stupid crashing his silly mind that had thought in the first place that she’s attracted to him.
But when he heard what she just said, he knew that she was not only stupid. It seems to be that some nerves had being extracted from her brain, which made her think that he’s her maid or something.
"Excuse me?" He asked, not fully sure he heard her right.
"You heard me clearly. You are in charge of this stupid girl, so you would have to do everything she said even if it means you being stupid enough to obey her," she spat, a full grin plastered on her face when she saw the way the reaction she wanted from him.
Miguel said nothing, but took steps closer, giving her the initial knowledge that he was finally carving into her will, until he cornered the edge of her bed, his hands moving up to stay on her waist. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Now that’s weird.
"W..what are you..do.ing?" Vanessa stuttered, the look on Miguel’s face giving her what exactly she knew was what her mind was thinking about what’s wrong with him.
He said nothing, but pushed her up to him. Her breast pushed up to his broad shoulders with her hands placed on his shoulder, his hard rock shoulder that tensed up with her being so close to him.
"What does it look like I’m doing huh?" He whispered to her ears, he felt the way she held her breath while trying hard to not prove that she’s not flustered about what’s going on.
There...that’s what he wanted to see. Her being flustered, her being the stupid girl she was whenever she’s infront of him.
"You know i have been in denial for so long, but now i know..." He trailed on, his face moving on to take in her intoxicating lavender scent.
"Miguel, what are you doing?"
His subconsciousness warned, but he was so lost in this forbidden sensation and trying to teach her a lesson for her not to mess with him.
"You know.. what?"
Give it up for the clumsy girl to ask him to complete his statement, to which he smirked and looked her right into her eyes, before descending his head so low.
He’s trying to kiss you Vanessa!
She screamed internally, but weak to the bones to push him aside to stop what he’s trying to do, until someone else did it for her.
They didn’t know how it happened, but the moment Miguel was flung away from her by some unseen forces against the door, it was then that Vanessa knew that she wasn’t crazy.
Adrik was real, and he was right there in her room holding Miguel up against the door, with his hands circling his throat before bloody red eyes that shot back at her.
"Who the hell is this motherfucker?!"
