Chapter 48: Chapter Forty-Eight: Narika, The Ghost’s Crush.

Narika was embarrassed the moment her eyes fell on him, Hendrix Qing. Her father’s boss. The overwhelming feeling about what she just passed through, coupled with the way Hendrix was looking at her teary face had the young lady turning around to leave.

She didn’t want him to see her this way, their first meeting was the most awkward experience ever and right now, he saw the tears in her which could only take a smart person a few seconds to know what’s going on. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Narika," Hendrix called after him, going out of his way to hold her right hand, preventing the young girl from leaving. Although it was pretty clear to him that she didn’t want to see him.

It hurt. It hurt that she was pulling away from him, when all he wanted since he was in the city was to drive down here just to see her.

All he needed was an excuse, so he could see those pretty brown eyes that had captured his heart since their first meeting. But right now, it hurts watching the tears leak from those eyes.

He was still in the dark about what’s going on, but as a gentleman he was, he couldn’t watch her leave, not without offering his handkerchief or trying to get her to talk her feelings out.

Narika wiped her years with the back of her left hand, before turning to face him while trying to put on the best smile on her face." I’m sorry Mr. Qing, I wasn’t actually in a good mood..."

She trailed on, but was cut short of her words by an indifferent Hendrix whose face countered up in disappointment, although she didn’t know why he looked like that until his next words.

"Don’t do that," Hendrix snapped, he cursed himself inwardly for sounding a little bit harsh. But that’s because she was talking formally to him.

"Excuse me, but i don’t really..."

"Hendrix. Call me by my name" He said, but it came out more like an order to which Narika didn’t feel comfortable enough to abide by his wishes, since after finding out what he meant to her dad.

She gave him no answer, but rather looked at his hand that was holding hers, to which he noticed that and let her hand go. She isn’t going to leave anymore, right?

"What are you doing here? My father is not at home," Narika said to him, as she couldn’t exactly figure out why he’s back here. But the one billion dollar smile of his, that would have any female crushing on him, that was on his face said otherwise about his visit here.

"I’m actually here for a business trip," Hendrix said, looking a little bit shy for the stares he was getting from the people who probably have her name in their mouth, for being out here with a fine specimen of a man after what she was accused of.

Narika noticed his discomfort, and suggested a walk to the park. The silence between the both of them as they walked to the park, made both of them uncomfortable.

But it was basically on the part of Hendrix who couldn’t keep his eyes away from her, she seemed to be lost in a world of her own, and he was eager to ask her what had her attention apart from him.

Calm down Hendrix, she was crying.

He mentally noted to himself, and while they say arrived at the park. He was thankful that there weren’t many people here, this gives him the opportunity to have a discussion with her.

"A penny for your thoughts?" Hendrix said, making her jump a little bit from her seat when his hand rested on her arm, a cue to bring her back to reality.

"I’m sorry, I just..." she stuttered, feeling bad for acting this way towards the boss of her dad. This was the man that saved her eyes from rotting in prison, bit here she was acting dumb in front of him.

"Bad day?" Hendrix asked, yes. That was the perfect excuse for a nice start to his conversation with her.

She smiled briefly, before nodding to his question. If there’s one thing exquisite about him, that was the part where he’s treating her like some friend, when he’s known her for only just a span of five days.

Was it because of her dad?

Of course it is Narika, what else?

Her subconsciousness shouted, she must be the biggest dreamer to think that there’s anyway, he’s treating her so warmly apart from his relationship with her dad.

Hendrix is a no go area.

They are two worlds apart.

He lives in the city, she lives in this fucked up urban area that it’s people needed a brain, no..maybe more than to brain to function like normal human beings and not restarded inmates.

Then, there’s the huge gap that he’s a owner of a flourishing business while she was nothing but just Narika, the ghost’s crush.

That’s the best name she could come up with after Adrik’s manipulation, for the fact that he hasn’t shown up made the girl enjoy her freedom, since she doesn’t know what exactly he was up to.

"So what exactly is your next plan?" Hendrix asked out of the blues, fanning Narika’s expression with curiosity. He always speaks out of line.

"What next move?" She asked naively.

"You wouldn’t tell me that you want to stay here for the rest of your life, Bambi, that would be too disappointing." Hendrix smiled down at her.

"I love Tomorrow town," Narina confessed truthfully, well that’s the truth until five days ago before her love waxed cold.

"Yes until they framed you up for murder. Let’s be sincere Angel, this place doesn’t fit the likes of you."

Angel?

If this was another girl, their stomach would coil from having been called an angel by this handsome man. But why is she different?

Why is her thinking so different, unlike any normal human?

She didn’t understand why he bothered about her staying here or not, it totally had nothing to do with him and what she wouldn’t entertain was him, bossing her around just like her father on what to do with her life.

"I beg your pardon Mr. Qing. But i don’t think you have any right to dictate what i do with my life." she sounded pissed off.

He has no right whatsoever to judge her decision to stay here, he knows nothing about what she has been through.

Tomorrow town means everything to her, and someone else who doesn’t deserve to know her talkmore of question her life, doesn’t have the right to try to force her into another life by going to the city.

"I’m sorry Bambi if you think...,"Hendrix tried apologizing, but she cut him short rudely.

"The name is Narika, I’m not your Bambi." She snapped, her emotions were all over the place. She remembered Mr.Mckenna, Tracy and of course Zoe, and that triggered her annoyance to which she stood up having had enough for today.

"I’m sorry, but i have to go." She said bluntly, giving him no chance to say anything further before walking briskly away from him and his judgemental self.

She didn’t call for his company. The only company she had loved betrayed her, fuck Friendship!

Fuck feelings!

Fuck Zoe!

Fuck Tomorrow Town!

They could burn into ashes for all she cared, but what they wouldn’t see her do was to bow to their expectations.

She would come back stronger than they imagined, and when this is all over. She would prove to Zoe that she made a very big mistake not standing for what was right, and let her dream of being a renowned Barista come to fulfilment in Tomorrow town.
