Natsuki couldn't help but think it through.

Orochimaru's words weren't that hard to grasp.

It was simple: the two scientists believed the black eye was alive and might have a will of its own. If it was nourished by the corresponding bloodline, it would naturally behave. But if it was fed by some other bloodline, it would naturally kick up a fuss.

That probably should've been called rejection.

But the two top-tier scientists insisted on their own interpretation, treating rejection like a bratty kid throwing a tantrum.

So if it was the bloodline of a strong person, maybe that could tame the black eye and make it behave.

It sounded absurd, but it weirdly had a tiny bit of logic to it.

And Orochimaru had also said Natsuki had Senju blood. In other words, he was basically an Ōtsutsuki descendant too. It might be possible for him to tame the black eye. Maybe it was worth trying.

Natsuki looked at the others. "What about you? You're all Ōtsutsuki descendants too. You could try it as well. You might get stronger."

Sasuke and Neji both waved him off immediately.

Sasuke said, "The Uchiha have our own eyes."

Neji said, "The Hyūga have ours."

Naruto shook his head too. "It's ugly. I'm not swapping my eyes for that. And I want to get stronger through my own effort, dattebayo. So no eye-swapping for me."

Hashirama also refused. "With my current strength, I probably wouldn't be able to handle it. You do it, Natsuki."

Natsuki was still hesitant, and he looked toward Orochimaru again.

Orochimaru was possessing Ōtsutsuki Toneri. His Ōtsutsuki bloodline was purer, so he should've been more suitable.

Orochimaru spread his hands. "I'm weaker than the First Hokage. And I still haven't fully mastered the Tenseigan yet, so taming the black eye would be even harder for me. Natsuki, everyone wants you to get stronger. You can tell, can't you?"

"Me… turning misfortune into fortune?" Natsuki went a little blank, sweeping his gaze across everyone, only to find them all nodding.

For a moment, he didn't know what to say, or how to refuse. He'd wanted to leave the black eye for someone else. Maybe they could cultivate another Six Paths-level powerhouse.

He hadn't expected everyone to be trying to strengthen him instead.

Sasuke's expression turned serious. "Natsuki, we know you're strong, but we don't think you'll stay ahead forever. The Senju bloodline has limits. Maybe you're already at the ceiling of what Senju can reach, and improving further will be incredibly hard. But we have no idea how strong the Ōtsutsuki's true monsters can get. Honestly, we're not confident. You're our biggest hope. So if there's a chance to make you stronger, we're going to support it."

Neji patted Natsuki on the shoulder. "You've always been the most reliable one. As long as you stay the strongest, even if more Ōtsutsuki come, we'll still have confidence we can win. So think it over carefully. Should you accept the black eye, and can it really make you stronger?"

Naruto gave him a thumbs-up. "We'll always believe in you, dattebayo!"

Natsuki opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

Being trusted like this… honestly didn't feel bad.

Somewhere along the way, he'd fully become part of the shinobi world. He would work to protect it. He would be happy when he earned people's trust.

Maybe he really did need to become even stronger. Up until now, his path to power had always been the gravity training room, strengthening his body. As long as his body kept improving, his Body Release and the Eighteen Gates would stay at the top.

He just hadn't expected everyone to hand him a power-up on a silver platter.

Right. In a world famous for legendary eyes, how could he not have a special eye of his own?

And like Sasuke said, when they didn't know how strong the Ōtsutsuki's strongest might be, having an overwhelmingly powerful ace on their side really was reassuring.

"The strongest Ōtsutsuki…" Natsuki frowned and looked at Isshiki. He'd tried probing the guy's memories before, and failed.

It felt like there was a restriction in Isshiki's soul. The moment an outsider tried to pry into his memories, the soul would be erased, leaving the intruder with nothing.

Which made sense. A clan that strong wouldn't allow secrets to leak.

Tampering with their members' souls was completely normal.

But that also meant a lot of Ōtsutsuki intel was impossible to obtain: whether Isshiki had other reincarnation methods, whether he could seize a body through the black eye, information on other Ōtsutsuki members, information on their strongest. None of it could be confirmed.

Santu Amado might know some of it, but what he knew was only what Isshiki had told him. Whether it was true or false was hard to say.

So instead of wasting time on unknowns, it was better to focus on getting stronger as quickly as possible.

At that moment, Natsuki sensed something off about Isshiki.

Isshiki's body suddenly went rigid, then completely fell silent. And then it began to petrify.

Everyone else noticed too. They watched in silence as Isshiki fully turned to stone, becoming a statue with no trace of life left.

Ōtsutsuki Isshiki: dead.

Orochimaru hurriedly checked and found that the black eye and the Byakugan were fine. The tissue, bone, and blood samples extracted ahead of time were fine too. Only Isshiki's body had petrified.

Orochimaru finally let out a hard breath.

He checked the White Zetsu with the black eye again and confirmed, "Natsuki-kun, Isshiki is completely dead, and he still didn't reincarnate through the black eye. That suggests he can't. You can relax. If you have no objections, you can try it first. If you feel like you can't adapt, we can switch it back."

When he said it, Orochimaru looked helpless.

A living specimen dying and petrifying after death naturally left him disappointed.

Natsuki thought for a moment, then finally agreed. "Alright. I'll try installing the black eye!"

As he spoke, he activated Body Release. The red-haired muscle-man form returned, and then a slit opened in the center of his forehead. He forcibly shaped his flesh into an eye socket.

From there, no surgery was needed. All he had to do was place the black eye into the empty socket.

Natsuki didn't ask anyone for help. He raised a hand, removed the black eye from the White Zetsu's socket, and slowly pressed it into the empty socket in his forehead. At the same time, his optic nerves connected to the black eye.

Everyone stared at Natsuki with a mix of tension and anticipation, hoping he could control it.

If he pulled this off, his strength would jump to a whole new level.

The next second, Natsuki felt a tightness in his forehead. The black eye started to reject him, but the Bloodline Limit All-Killing Ash Bones network inside him surged up and forcibly suppressed the black eye.

And for some reason, whether it was his imagination or not, Natsuki felt the gravity training room tremble three times.

Then the black eye… settled down.

Natsuki froze, then silently exited Body Release mode. The black eye remained obedient, absorbing chakra normally. It didn't drain him excessively. He could even close it.

He'd actually succeeded.
