Naruto: Limit Breaker-Chapter 331: Starting Again
Chapter 331: Starting Again
Ryosuke had also tasted the rare wild boar that Hinata mentioned. It was unbelievably delicious.
It was not just about flavor or cooking technique. The meat itself contained an incredibly dense and pure energy that was extremely beneficial to the body.
Hinata had once suspected that this species of wild boar did not originate in the ninja world at all, but had migrated here from another world.
So the clan had stepped in and begun managing them, trying to artificially expand their numbers.
The effect was limited, but there were still some results.
That meat even had a noticeable effect on Ryosuke’s body. For ordinary people, the benefits were on a completely different level.
The two children knew the meat tasted amazing, and they also knew it was good for their bodies. It was only natural they found it hard to control their greed.
Before anyone realized it, two months had slipped by.
In less than half a month, nearly one hundred wild boars had been completely wiped out by the two little devils.
Their natural gifts were outstanding, and their bodies absorbed the energy extremely well. After eating that much wild boar meat rich in power, their physiques grew stronger by the day.
But after half a month, once every last boar had been eaten, the two little monsters started to regret it.
They stayed at home quietly for ten days.
After that, they joined forces, formed a noisy little alliance, and traveled around the world together, searching everywhere to see if there were any wild boars or similar creatures in the ninja world that could enhance physical strength.
Unfortunately, after a month and a half, they had found nothing.
...
The autumn breeze was cool and gentle.
In the Hyuga courtyard, the whole family sat together eating lunch in an easy, relaxed atmosphere.
Autumn was about to turn into winter, and the temperature in the ninja world was just right.
Even though it was midday, the sun above was warm without being harsh. The light was soft and comforting.
"Judging from how you two have been eating lately, it looks like your appetites have gone down."
As soon as they sat down, Hinata looked at the two gloomy faced children and could not help smiling. "What is it? Did Ariane make something you do not like today?"
"No..."
Mai quickly shook her head and sped up her chopsticks. "It is delicious. Really delicious."
Ariane had been serving as the housekeeper since the days when Ryosuke and Hinata were young. Counting the years she had attended to Hiashi and her generation as well, she had more than thirty years of experience looking after the daily lives of this family.
Everyone in the household had picky tastes. For her to satisfy them all for so many years was no small feat.
When the clan had found a devil fruit that was helpful for cooking, Ariane was the one who ate it.
Her cooking skills were among the finest across the more than twenty worlds under Hyuga control. It was impossible to call her food bad.
It was just that even the best cooking would be better if it had equally good ingredients.
Compared to Mai, who still insisted on putting up a front, Yuichi could not even be bothered to fake it.
"Mom, Grandma Ariane’s food is really good. I am just used to eating better things. Going back to normal food like this is just..."
He let out a long sigh and did not finish the sentence, using that sigh to express all his sorrow.
"Who told you two not to control your mouths?"
Hinata traded a look with Ryosuke and knew the opportunity had arrived. She could not help scolding them a little. "If you two had not been so greedy and insisted on eating every single wild boar, you would not be out of stock now."
"It is not wrong to have desires, but you cannot act only on desire. You have to learn self control."
She lectured them sentence by sentence, telling them they had to be strict with themselves and could not simply do whatever they wanted.
Ryosuke helped as well, explaining the lesson in his own way and making the two children face the consequences of their moment of greed.
He told them that if they had listened carefully to their mother, if they had understood the idea of slow and steady, they might still be eating wild boar meat now, with a supply that could last for years.
The husband and wife took turns teaching, one line at a time, which made Hiashi and Hanabi want to laugh and sigh at the same time.
They could see clearly now that everything the couple had done earlier was to prepare for this lesson today.
But the price felt a little too high.
If that wild boar breed had survived and been raised like the dangerous species in the Teigu world, it would have been an enormous asset for the Hyuga clan.
If every household could eat such meat regularly, then even someone like Hiashi, who no longer fought or trained, would have a physique far beyond that of a normal person.
Sacrificing such a huge advantage just to educate two children felt like a pity.
What they did not know was that in Ryosuke’s eyes, his children’s education was more important than anything.
If these two were not taught properly and grew crooked, the entire alliance Hinata had built with so much effort might collapse in their hands one day.
"Father and Mother really are strict teachers."
Yuichi and Mai were very smart. After quietly listening to their parents’ words, they quickly understood what was going on, just like Hiashi and Hanabi.
Mai lowered her head, her expression obedient, clearly admitting her mistake.
Yuichi smiled and asked, "Since Father and Mother let my sister and me make such a big mistake just to teach us, then..."
He scratched his head. "Did you prepare a backup plan?"
He had already figured out that their parents had been indulging them on purpose these past days, just to give them the lesson they received today.
So naturally, he could not help wondering if his father had secretly kept a few wild boars back.
He and Mai had gone a step further in their thinking than Hiashi and Hanabi.
Unfortunately, Ryosuke shook his head. "No, I did not keep any."
From their expression and tone, it looked as if they were not taking the scolding to heart.
But through the Tenseigan, Ryosuke could see clearly that both children had already carved his words into their hearts. That was enough.
"Ah..."
Yuichi froze, clearly disappointed.
"But I can tell you one thing for sure." Ryosuke smiled. "Those wild boars were never part of the ninja world to begin with. Even though you two managed to eat every last one here in half a month, if you can find the time space gate that leads to the original world of that species, you might find even more wild boars there."
"And you might even discover ingredients that are better than those wild boars."
Finding such a world among countless realms would rely heavily on luck. It was not something easily done.
But at least now, the two little food lovers had a goal.
They would not be bored at home and cause trouble whenever they had nothing to do.
They needed to learn how to set goals for themselves and work hard to reach them.
The meal ended quietly as teaching and learning went on between bites.
In the afternoon, Ryosuke accompanied the children in their daily training, played with them for a while, and before long, the sun sank and evening came again.
After dinner, the family sat in the courtyard and chatted, and another day passed just like that.
This was the Hyuga family’s current daily life. Hinata, the clan head, Ryosuke, the foundation beneath the clan, and Hiashi, the former head, had all gradually handed off most of their work. They only stepped in for major decisions, so their days had become much more relaxed.
Right now, the busiest person in the family was probably Hanabi.
From time to time, she led Hyuga teams on patrols through different worlds and was often away on missions.
"After I leave tomorrow, you should take the two children to visit some other worlds when you have time."
That night, Ryosuke and Hinata leaned together in bed.
Ever since the children were born, their conversations, like the whole family’s, circled around those two.
Even the family affairs that used to be brought up all the time did not appear as often anymore.
"How long are you planning to be gone this time?"
Hinata rested her cheek against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. "You can only be away for three months at most. Even if you only come back for one day, you have to at least see the children."
There was no room for argument in her voice.
"But if you really run into something dangerous and get delayed, do not force yourself to rush home." Before he could answer, Hinata corrected herself. "As long as you explain it when you come back, the children and I will not blame you."
"When you are outside, staying safe is the most important thing."
"One month. If things go smoothly, I will come back once a month."
Ryosuke did not hesitate and gave his promise straight away.
He had already spent about two months at home since returning from Saitama’s world.
During those two months, he still used his spare time to analyze the rules of the ninja world, but most of his attention had been on his family and the children. The speed of his progress could not compare to when he focused completely on training.
So he had already decided that he would leave from time to time to concentrate fully on training.
"I know training has always been a very important part of your heart."
Hinata’s tone softened. "But I do not think I can raise these two alone. I do not want them to look at you one day and not recognize their own father."
"I know."
Ryosuke’s reply was gentle.
He had already thought about all this.
"That is good. Just be careful."
Hinata’s voice grew softer and softer, and she naturally returned to talking about their children. "Yuichi and Mai have barely left this world since they were born."
"I want to take them to see a world of technology and let them experience how different other worlds can be."
"But compared to Ultraman’s world, I prefer the one with the parasitic humans. The military power there is not as strong. We can let them get used to other worlds starting from easier ones, then slowly raise the difficulty..."
Ryosuke did not sleep that night, and Hinata stayed awake with him.
Most of the time, it was Hinata who talked.
Sometimes she spoke about problems raising the children. Sometimes she jumped back to memories from her own childhood. Her topics changed quickly, but all she really wanted was to keep the conversation going, to keep herself from falling asleep.
Ryosuke answered her whenever she needed him to, talking back from time to time.
By the time daylight began to brighten the room, they were still chatting.
Only when they heard the children calling outside the door did Hinata slowly stop. Ryosuke sat up, got dressed, and walked out.
After breakfast, he hardened his resolve and finally stepped through the time space gate, leaving this world behind as his children cried and clung to him.
From that moment on, there were twenty nine days left until he could come home.
Home was warm, but he still had to keep walking along his chosen path.
His mindset shifted quickly.
By the time he crossed the time space gate and arrived in Ultraman’s world, his attention had already turned from family to his other path, the path of mastering rules.
In an instant, the countless rules before him had captured all his focus.
This was not his first time touching new rules. Ryosuke moved through the rule structure of this world with practiced ease, searching for similarities with the rules of Saitama’s world and the ninja world.
He quickly found several common points in the basic framework. Because of that, his understanding of this world’s rules progressed at amazing speed.
During the months in the ninja world, Ryosuke had been pouring most of his time into his family, so his analysis had been slow. Even so, there had still been gains.
His grasp of the rules in the ninja world had quietly surpassed his control of Saitama’s world.
Saitama had helped him feel what it meant to be bound by rules directly, to face the rules of that world head on. That had been a huge shortcut.
But when it came to controlling rules, his pace in the ninja world was still faster.
Because the lines of fate were also a kind of rule. He simply had not realized it at first.
Every living being’s rules increased over time as they accumulated more experiences, destiny, and cause and effect. Because of that, Ryosuke could see the fate lines of every creature in the ninja world clearly. Using those lines as an entry point, he could better master the rules of that world.
If his grasp of the rules in Saitama’s world was ten percent, then his control of the ninja world had already reached fifteen percent. As for this new world in front of him now...
"One percent."
Ryosuke drew in a deep breath. From the moment he arrived in Ultraman’s world, he had needed only a single minute to gain control of about one percent of its rules.
The reason was simple. He already had the foundations laid by the first two worlds.
Different worlds had different rules.
To create a planet suitable for human life, you would need one set of rules. To define human life itself, you would need another.
Humans in different worlds might have slightly different structures and be influenced by different rule sets.
Back then, when Sakata, Gintoki, and the others from the Gintama world tried to refine chakra, they had no way forward because of the differences in their bodies. Only after they met Ryosuke and received his help could they finally refine chakra.
But in truth, Ryosuke had discovered something else.
Some of the basic framework rules were similar.
In other words, if Ryosuke could completely analyze and master one world to one hundred percent, then in the next world, he could use that foundation and take control of its rules at incredible speed, thanks to those similarities.
If that was true, he might be able to surpass Saitama quickly and resolve one of the obsessions left from his previous life.
With that thought, Ryosuke opened another time space gate.
He wanted to tour all the worlds under Hyuga control, study their rules one by one, and see which ones were the most similar.
