Chapter 117 - End of the War Against Iwagakure

"Has the battle over there ended?"

Jiraiya gazed into the distance, towards the battlefield.

The towering Susanoo that was taller than a mountain was no longer visible.

The earth-shattering explosions and the tremors that had spread for miles had ceased.

There were only two possibilities.

Either Yuta had been defeated, or the battle was over.

After waiting for a moment, Jiraiya made a decision.

He signaled the Konoha ninjas to follow him as he rushed toward the former battlefield.

As they arrived, Jiraiya, who had braced himself for the worst couldn't help but gasp.

The battlefield was a scene of utter devastation, littered with the corpses of Iwa ninjas.

"Yuta... just how many did he kill?"

"Has the Iwagakure army been completely wiped out?"

"Maybe. I wonder if the Third Tsuchikage managed to escape."

"Either way, the war is over. We've won!"

Relief washed over the Konoha ninjas.

The battle with Iwagakure had been overwhelming. Their sheer numbers had put immense pressure on them.

Their eyes were filled with awe as they looked at Yuta.

Konoha had won against both Kumogakure and Iwagakure in this war and it was almost entirely due to Yuta.

Once word of Yuta's might spread, other villages would surely not dare to wage war against Konoha.

"You came at the right time."

At this moment, Yuta had already dispelled Susanoo.

He turned to the Konoha ninjas, and ordered, "Clean up the battlefield immediately. If you find any Iwa ninjas that are still alive, don't kill them. Let Onoki pay to get them back."

He had chosen not to continue chasing the fleeing Tsuchikage.

He hated Kumogakure and the Raikage, but his hatred for Iwagakure was much lesser in comparison.

He had left some of them alive. Maybe a hundred or so would manage to return to Iwagakure.

And this was exactly what he wanted.

These survivors would carry the memory of this confrontation back home. They will forever haunted by today's fear.

Once Iwagakure learns of their crushing defeat, they will think twice before seeking revenge.

The Konoha ninjas obeyed his command and began gathering the bodies.

Jiraiya walked towards while suppressing his frustration.

He said, "You could have ended this war differently. If you had revealed the power of your Susanoo from the start, Iwagakure wouldn't have dared to continue fighting."

Though Iwagakure had been the one who had invaded the Land of Fire, Jiraiya still didn't like seeing so many casualties.

In his eyes, there was a better way to achieve peace.

If Yuta had been weaker and Konoha was forced into a prolonged battle with Iwagakure, then a large number of casualties would have been inevitable.

But Yuta had overwhelming strength that was enough to crush the Iwagakure army effortlessly.

If he had simply demonstrated his power at the start instead of engaging in an all-out slaughter, countless lives could have been spared.

Yuta glanced at Jiraiya and spoke flatly, "The First Hokage had the strength to defeat entire armies, yet he chose diplomacy to unite the world."

"And what happened after his death? The First Great Ninja War broke out immediately."

Jiraiya frowned and said, "That's a different situation—"

"What's the difference?" Yuta interrupted.

"Unlike Hashirama, I wasn't trying to unify the world. Iwagakure invaded us first."

"And you think that by showing them mercy, they'll suddenly appreciate it? That they'll be grateful we didn't slaughter them all?"

His voice grew colder.

"If they dare to invade, then we should destroy their ability to wage war. Otherwise, what will happen after I die? Another war will break out."

"And who will stop it then? You? Do you think you're capable?"

Jiraiya's face turned red with anger, but for a moment, he was unable to respond.

At this moment, Yuta had lost all respect for Jiraiya.

Before meeting him, he had admired Jiraiya from the memories of his past life.

But after seeing his actions firsthand, he only felt disappointment.

Jiraiya talked about peace and ideals but did nothing meaningful.

During the Second Great Ninja War, he had abandoned Konoha to train Nagato and his friends in Amegakure.

After the Third Great Ninja War, he traveled the world to look for the so-called "Son of Prophecy."

During the Nine-Tails attack, he was absent.

When Orochimaru defected, he did nothing.

When Kumogakure kidnapped Hinata and threatened Konoha, he did not intervene.

During the Uchiha massacre, he said nothing.

Even in the Konoha Collapse Plan, all he did was fight a few snakes.

And now, he had the nerve to criticize Yuta?

Jiraiya preached about peace but contributed nothing to it.

He blindly followed the prophecy, believing that one little kid would magically bring harmony and peace.

But peace isn't built on dreams—it is built on power.

If Jiraiya had the strength of Hashirama or Madara, then maybe his ideals could become reality.

But he didn't!

Jiraiya was just another fool who had inherited Hashirama's naive thinking without his overwhelming strength.

"You—!"

Jiraiya clenched his fists in frustration, but he couldn't argue against Yuta's words.

This battle had been won entirely by Yuta. Jiraiya's contribution was minimal.

Jiraiya knew this but the blatant disrespect caused his heart in anger.

Yuta, however, had no interest in continuing the conversation.

He said coldly, "I don't want to hear your nonsense."

"In my eyes, your so-called 'ninja way' is ridiculous."

Without waiting for a response, he used the Flying Thunder God Technique and vanished, returning to Konoha.

The remaining Konoha ninjas watched in silence. They had no intention of siding with Jiraiya.

Iwagakure had invaded, and Yuta had crushed them. That was all that mattered in their hearts.

"Trying to scare them away with force? Ridiculous!!"

Jiraiya sighed, feeling defeated.

"Little Jiraiya,"

A small voice sounded beside him—it was Fukasaku.

Fukasaku said, "That Uchiha Yuta... he may be the one the Great Toad Sage foresaw."

Jiraiya's shoulders tensed.

He said tiredly, "I know. I have to find a way to correct his views."

Yuta sought peace through absolute power, but in Jiraiya's eyes, that was just peace built on fear and oppression.

And if left unchecked, Yuta could very well become the next Kaguya.

This was something that Jiraiya didn't want to see.
