Chapter 397 - 397: Spirit Division Sealing Mark

Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and a scroll containing the completed new technique was finally laid out before everyone.

It was the same familiar quiet room, but today, there were a few more people present.

"Let me take a look first."

Kawakaze grabbed the scroll without hesitation. No one else fought for it. Those who dared had already seen it, and those who hadn't didn't have the nerve to challenge him for it.

"Is there anything wrong with it?"

Since Kawakaze had come up with the idea, Mito respectfully looked to him for confirmation.

"Ahem... I don't think there will be any problems using it." freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Kawakaze had just finished reading through the seals and gave a vague answer, prompting Tsunade to cover her mouth and laugh.

Is that what Grandma was asking you?

If even he couldn't use it, then the new technique's limitations were far too severe.

"Yes, only seven seals. That's really not a problem for you, Lord Kawakaze."

Orochimaru looked at him with barely concealed disdain. As expected, two completely different people could never truly be on the same page. In his eyes, this couple was nothing more than a pair of first-class fools.

"Don't start with that."

Kawakaze could tell Orochimaru was mocking him and fired back without hesitation.

"Oh? You actually noticed?"

Orochimaru snickered, his words laced with disdain. Combined with his cold expression, it was nothing short of outright insulting.

"If you've got the guts, come out and fight me one-on-one."

If Mito weren't there, Kawakaze would've already pointed straight at Orochimaru—though aiming right at his smug face would've been even more satisfying.

"Can you not? Just stop. And you—keep smiling."

Tsunade was exasperated. If Kawakaze wasn't the center of attention already, he was certainly making sure he would be.

Jiraiya, who had been enjoying the show from the sidelines, suddenly found himself dragged into the mess.

"What does this have to do with me?"

He pointed at himself in disbelief. There really was no law and order these days.

The younger ones were so stunned that none dared make a sound.

"Hahaha, you two remind me of Hashirama and Tobirama. They used to play around like this all the time, too."

Only Mito laughed heartily, her face filled with nostalgia.

With that, the tense atmosphere immediately lightened.

"This technique requires two people to use it at the same time. Did you notice?"

Orochimaru snorted, choosing not to continue arguing with Kawakaze—the uncultured country bumpkin.

"Of course, I saw it."

Kawakaze hurriedly glanced down and read the small line of text in the margin.

"This technique is only effective against Tailed Beasts and requires the combined efforts of two people."

Orochimaru, too lazy to expose the lie, simply rolled his eyes and continued.

"I won't even mention the sheer amount of chakra the Nine-Tails possesses."

"This technique requires one ninja with a strong Yang attribute and another with a strong Yin attribute to use it simultaneously."

"This will split the Nine-Tails' chakra in half."

"Finding someone with a Yang attribute is easy, but Yin users are far rarer."

Although Orochimaru possessed Yin chakra, he didn't consider himself a suitable candidate. His chakra reserves were immense for an ordinary ninja, but against the Nine-Tails, they were still lacking. Moreover, Yin wasn't his primary attribute, so his proficiency in it was limited.

"Sensei, just how strong are we talking?" Nawaki asked tentatively, trying to gauge the size of the potential candidate pool.

"At least not weaker than me," Orochimaru replied after a brief moment of thought, his tone serious.

"Er... forget I asked."

Hearing this, Nawaki couldn't think of anyone who fit the criteria. Not only did they need to rival Orochimaru in strength, but they also had to be proficient in Yin chakra. No one in his circle of friends came to mind.

"I'll be one, and let Fugaku be the other," Kawakaze suggested, immediately thinking of the Uchiha. Yin chakra aligned well with his specialty.

Fugaku, possessing the Mangekyō, naturally had no issues with chakra reserves.

[The Uchiha's chakra reserves are definitely substantial, depending on the comparison. With the enhancement from the Mangekyō, his chakra will only increase further. Judging by the growth seen in Sasuke, his chakra levels could become outright terrifying.]

"I almost forgot about him—he's a solid choice," Orochimaru nodded in agreement, fully aware of Fugaku's strength. After all, if Fugaku wanted the Eternal Mangekyō, he would eventually need Orochimaru's assistance.

As for the Yang-attribute candidate, Kawakaze came to mind immediately. Compared to Kawakaze, Orochimaru's connection with Fugaku was still somewhat lacking in depth.

"You've made your decision so quickly?"

Mito didn't intend to question them—it was best if she didn't worry.

"Well, Fugaku and I have no issues with it," Kawakaze said, nodding as he placed the scroll back on the table.

"This technique still doesn't have a name?"

Minato and the others passed the scroll around, but no one could find a name for it.

"That's all trivial. Why don't you guys think of one?"

Jiraiya regretted his words the moment they left his mouth. With Minato around, what decent name could they expect? His so-called "genius at naming" was infamous throughout Konoha.

"Okay!"

Minato agreed instantly, his face lighting up with excitement. A powerful sealing technique like this deserved an equally grand name.

"Here we go again..."

Kushina placed a hand on her forehead as she exchanged a knowing, exasperated look with Misaki.

"Since this is a technique for sealing Tailed Beasts, painstakingly developed by several elders," Minato began confidently, "how about we call it the 'Uzumaki Sealing Art of the Twin Beasts'?"

His smug expression made it clear—he was completely satisfied with the name. It included the developers' clan name, the technique's purpose, and its method. It was simply perfect. No, it was beyond perfect!!!

"Stop that awful thinking."

Tsunade's expression made it clear she had no intention of letting her grandmother's final sealing jutsu be saddled with such an awkward name.

"It doesn't sound good?"

Minato, unfazed, turned to his teacher. "Sensei, what do you think?"

Cough cough.

Kawakaze couldn't believe it. Minato actually asked that? Who had the audacity to teach him such shameless confidence?

"It's a good name. Don't ever use it again."

Orochimaru had only heard rumors about Minato's naming sense before. Today, he truly witnessed it in action.

"Okay..."

Minato sighed, his enthusiasm slightly deflated. He still wondered when someone would recognize his talent.

"I'll come up with a name," Kawakaze offered. "How about 'Soul-Separating Great Technique'?"

He drew inspiration from the martial arts novels he had read, thinking it was at least a normal-sounding name.

"Not happening," Tsunade shut it down without hesitation. Clearly, it didn't meet the standards of the Naruto world.

"Mine's still better," Minato muttered under his breath.

But Kawakaze heard him loud and clear.

"Get out with your crappy name."

Kawakaze jabbed a finger toward the door, showing Minato the way out.

"Fine, I'll go."

Minato grabbed Kushina and left without protest, heading straight to find Fugaku. Their friendship was solid, after all.

Nawaki watched them leave, swallowing the name he had been about to suggest.

"This technique can be considered Lady Mito's farewell masterpiece," Orochimaru said, his tone careful. "I think it would be best if Lady Mito named it herself."

Silence fell over the room. Everyone understood his meaning. The atmosphere turned heavy—there was less than a week left until the March deadline.

"Then I won't be polite," Mito finally said.

"Let's keep it simple—Spirit Division Sealing Mark."
